Excellent venue if youre looking for one for a wedding or other event. The owner is very friendly and helpful with helping you with your needs. The grounds are well kept. The museum has a lot of history and its enjoyable for people of all ages.

Used this place for a graduation party and it was absolutely perfect. Gorgeous venue.

House is incredible. The history of the Howards and the shipyard is a huge part of Jeffersonvilles history and its always nice to see where the story of where you were raised. The staff was knowledgeable and seemed genuinely happy to answer questions and assist guests.

The Carriage House is a great place for a gathering or special event..workers were attentive..nice overflow space outside for warm weather functions...parking was close by with a minimal walk..

Had our wedding here in 2009, love this place, it has such a rich history and is beautiful as well. With all the upgrades to the carriage house, its a one stop location for an event!

If you love well preserved history then this is for you. Very knowledgeable staff and a very well preserved piece of history from the late 1800s. I highly recommended a visit to this historic work of art. Discounts available for veterans, children and AAA members.

The new Carriage House venue is anazing

It is a very small, very specific museum. The house it is in is absolutely beautiful and is a time capsule of sorts for the Howard family at the height of their wealth. The second floor is dedicated to boats and the river. It wont take long to go through, we did a self guided tour in a little over an hour.

All visits are guided, but $5 for students and kids and $7 for adults, and around a 1.5 hour tour it seems like a very reasonable charge. Better yet, it seems that most visitors go with a personal tour guide not in a group. This is a good way to spend a couple hours, and I would recommend at least doing it once just to check it out.

Mansion was a very interesting place to see awesome models of different steamboats and that Howard Steamboat Bilt all rooms and woodworking was just spectacular if youre there it is worth the visit

Went here for a baby shower. The facility was beautiful and a great place to host an event like a baby shower, bridal shower, birthday party, etc....

This is a really cool museum. The house is very historic and the steamboat replicas are pretty amazing as well. Its a fair price and we had a good experience here.

The Carriage House at the Howard Steamboat Museum is an awesome space for just about any event. Beautiful outdoor areas even in the winter and the beams and exposed wood look inside is beautiful.

The house is beautiful and interesting. The displays of steamboat history are amazing. But our guide for the tour was horrible. We should have taken the self-guided tour that was an option.

We opted for a guided tour and are very glad we did. There’s a lot of history and memories in that house. We would have missed a lot had it not been for our guide. We learned about a lot of the old steamboats and how they were made.

If you love old mansions, this one is a must see! Woodwork throughout house is absolutely fantastic. Artistic talent that would be hard to recreate. Historical content in house about steamboat industry worth the visit.

This landmark museum is a must see for anyone who happens to be visiting out little river town! There is plenty of information posted to give a rich, detailed story of how Jeffersonville was Born and how we became a hub and builder for and of barges. Visit during the Chataqua festival for a chance to buy goods from many of our local vendors! Its a beautiful museum, very worth stopping by and taking a tour!

Time travel, its a good place to do it!

Great place, lots of items and history about the area, and ship industry of the past to present. Only bad thing is I know alot about its history and those time periods, and any questions I had for the tour guide, she responded like I was a 4 year old, and felt like she thought I was a moron. All she did during the whole tour is kept repeating the same 3 facts over and over. I think she didnt like that I knew more than her about the place, than she did, and she works there.

Loved the original family furnishings and Kadie, the docent, was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Enjoyed learning more about the history of steamboats.

The Howard is a rare Victorian mansion that still houses many of the original furnishings. It Is a worthy house museum, not only a repository of steamboat memorabilia and technology.

Local historic Mansion and apparently the library inside the mansion is haunted.
