Absolutely insane!!! I was so petrified!! I had no idea it was that huge. My boyfriend loved it so much. But for someone who has a hard time with heights.. WHOOAA!. the view coming back down was spectacular.

Toll is $4 for motorcycles / cars without EZ Pass and bridge is undergoing repairs. Speed limit is 25, which allows you more time to enjoy the view.

One of the best bridges in the northeast. It connects Newport and Jamestown (Conanicut Island) via rt. 138. Its longest span in the middle is 490m (1600ft)!Its really impossible to get photos from the bridge of the surrounding water, boats, & islands because of the railings. But the bridge itself is impressive enough. If you get a chance to take a boat underneath this bridge it is awesome and really makes you appreciate its height.There is a hefty $4 toll each way, but I think it serves Jamestown well, keeping tourism at a comfortable amount. And after all, it is the longest suspension bridge in New England so it is worth a trip.

You will get a better view from King Park. Its a scenic drive since you can watch the Narragansett Bay on both sides. There is a toll so be prepared for that.You cannot bike on this bridge. Its the easiest way to get in and out of Newport, RI.

It gets me to the other side. So Id say its doing a great job.Also, I love how they are handling traffic while making repairs to the bridge.

The Newport Bridge just celebrated its 50th birthday. It was recently decorated with Red, White, and Blue lights. Wish they kept it up all year round. If was beautiful. Bridge was recently painted and is currently going through deck replacement. Expect delay in coming months for the next few years.

May be a nice bridge but you have to pay to get off...how stupid...if there another way to get off the island take it. Once on the island the experience is great. Go eat fresh lobster at the shack.

They charged my card $65 for tolls when I had an EZ pass and only gave me $20 dollars back on my EZ pass and refused to refund my money back onto my card.

One of the most elegant suspension bridges on the East Coast! The view from the deck is fantastic and offers an unbeatable view of the Narragansett Bay and surrounding areas such as Jamestown and Newport. There are so many spots to get some great photos of the bridge as well. Simply spectacular!

Compelling. Heart pounding. Beauty. Named after the same dude that the Pell Grant (for college) is named after. Lots of sail boats. Huge yatchs. Wear sunscreen all year round. Tried to post a breath taking snapshot but it wouldn’t let me on my iPhone. Worth the trip.

This is the ultimate example of milking. They have been working on this bridge, every day, except winter, for atleast 8 years. Now half of it is going to close for some reason. i love crossing this to work every day to see the entire lane closed for the 20ft section their working on. How they get away with this is beyond me

Nice bridge, especially for a fugitive and his wife to fake their deaths on it.

Was a bit nervous, seeing the photos of this bridge, to take my fifth wheel camper over it. Wasnt bad, however the lanes are narrow and the road surface is terrible. Very bumpy.

Stupid to pay all the toll fees. Guess thats why people dont come here much. Get the toll gone then people shop live and enjoy this town

Why am I paying 50 dollars a month for a bridge constantly caught in traffic. Spent 50 minutes waiting to get on it to go home the other day. Terrible Rhode Island standard.
