Im glad I visited Pymatuning State Park. With the Pandemic of 2020 all biking trips were kept closer to home to prevent overnight stays. The hustle and bustle of the reason was gone making the Monday I visited a rather quiet day. But, there was such peace as I bike around both, East and West sides of the lake. I can only image the beauty of the park come peak color time of Fall. A great place to spend a day or two and if you have a boat, what could be better...well, maybe marshmallows toasting over a campfire.

The cabins in the PA side are pretty nice. Full kitchens, no A/C however it was chilly in August at night and we werent even there in day that much to notice it warm inside. Fishing spots very convenient to cabins. Hard to find at first, follow signs for Family Cabins, then turn at stop sign and you will see cabins and signs with cabin # on them. Nice yard in each modern cabin. Recommended!

Weve now visited 100 of the parks in pa trying to finish the state park book.And this is the first time a ranger stopped to see if we had questions because the park office was closed.Very nice gentleman he even went in and got us decals and patches so we could purchase them .Took us over to the gatehouse and told us a little about the area.The gatehouse is a sight to see .The fall colors were stunning.Definately worth the visit.

We went to Ohio to visit family and on our last day decided to come here and enjoy the lake. This place was wonderful! We just pulled right up and set up at a picnic table, grilled dinner, everyone played in the lake and enjoyed the beach. It was a wonderful time. I loved how they had a safe zone netted off, too.

We grew up in this area and is the 1st time with us rafting down the shenango river. We had a great experience. Its very family friendly, we seen wildlife, there were other people but it wasnt crowded, and everybody was very fun and kind to deal with. The experience was Great and we very much enjoyed it and we will definitely be bringing our family back!

Pymatuming Jemestown park is a very clean and maintained park. Highly recommend if looking for a camping spot in the ares

Clean restrooms, spacious sites, beautiful views, and lots of wildlife. Highly recommended as a weekend getaway.

Very fun place to go for families. A very nice playground right on the beach so the littles can play while the older kids and adults can swim. Each campsite has a picnic bench and a firepit you can cook on. Also there are bathrooms with showers. Theres also a little on ground store for last minute items or things you forgot that is very reasonable with their prices. There are a few other little places for kids to play and even a mini dirt bicycle park! Overall a very affordable and fun place to take the family. It does get quiet very early though. By the time we are getting setup for smores and stories by the campfire, everyone else is asleep already! Thats just a personal preference though :) We will definitely be taking the kids there again soon!

I AM 65 AND ME AND MY WIFE HAVE TENT CAMPED HERE EVERY YEAR FROM AROUND 6 YEARS OLD .I LIKE TO FISH AND SIT AROUND THE CAMP AT NIGHT THREE YEARS AGO I BROUGHT A FRIEND AND HIS WIFE AND THEY HAVE CAMPED EVERY YEAR SENSE. I KNOW ONE OF THESE YEARS I WILL HAVE TO GET A CAMPER BUT I WILL STILL BE CAMPING HERE. NICE STORE AND NICE RANGERS. I LIVE IN NORTH EAST PA SO ITS NOT TO CLOSE OR FAR. EVERY YEAR HAS BEEN GOOD OR VERY GOOD OR GREAT

Very nice park with some new pavilions. We were able to get a waterside picnic table and watch the world go by as people fished, hiked, biked, played catch, walked their dogs and enjoyed the sunshine.

Been going here for almost 30 years, very good place to go if you just need a break

We had a blast camping! The sites were large and well maintained and a lil bit of rain didnt stop us!

I absolutely love this place. My favorite place to go for a getaway/vacation.We go up a couple times every year. My kids have a blast on the beaches!

This park is ideal for anyone into nature or loves to go herb hunting. Numerous trails weave through the dense virgin timber woods which surround a gigantic man made lake with docks and boat ramps. The campground portion is in a state of disrepair because many people dont camp anymore, which is tragic. Many of the public bathrooms are boarded up despite looking like theyre in good shape. The marina and docks are still being used and therefore are in very good shape. I went to the park on Labor Day and only saw a hand full of people/ cars while roaming around in my wheelchair. What I would give to see this place thrive once again.

Love the abundance of nature that you can see there... Bald eagles, beaver, snapping turtles and tons of people there wildlife on a beautiful lake.

Visited the beach with 4 teens. Not overly populated. Area was clean, water faucet to rinse sand off feet really helps.

The campground is very nice but crowded on weekends. The lake is beautiful.

We had so much fun here. The first hours we was there we caught a total of 13 fish. The only problem is I dont know why people are so freaking lazy that they cant throw away their trash. Please keep this beautiful park clean & throw your trash away.

Views where awesome to say the least. The 100 camp area is a little noisy as it is not to far off the roadway. Will visit again just in a different section.

Took the grandson there just for something to do. Seemed like it would be a awesome place to explore, but unfortunately it was too cold to be able to enjoy anything there that day. Will try and go again on a warm, sunny day.

Rented a spot to park my boat for the season way cheaper than any marina

My little slice of heaven. Great place to find some peace, get in touch with nature, and yet be only minutes from more modern conveniences. Great for fishing, boaters, swimmers, trail walkers, cyclists, nature watchers...the list is almost endless. From summer to winter, there is always something for someone.

We had such an incredible time here! I went kayaking, my son, fiance and honestly dad all went fishing, my fiance explored one of the little islands and our camping neighbors were nice. This is a great place to bring the family to get away from regular life. Its so peaceful and relaxing. Im definitely staying here again when we visit PA again this fall. This is now second favorite state park, second to Cloudland Canyon in GA!

This is such a beautiful state park, beautiful water systems and facilities and very clean. It is a great place just to go for a hike, ride your bike, or just sit on the water or even fish or boat.

My family and I absolutely love Pymatuning State Park. We camp, boat, fish, bike, and hike here every year. We even drive up in the winter on nice days for some hiking or biking. Love the lake. Fishing is so-so, but relaxing. We have a lot of fun night fishing and been doing it since I was a kid. Love visiting the area attractions, such as the spillway and wildlife museums, as well. We usually camp in one of the campgrounds which are quiet and well maintained. Its just such a beautiful, peaceful place!

Love the area wouldnt stay any where else

We loved our stay here at Pymatuning State Park. We camped as a fairly large group on a bunch of campsites that were close to each other. We were right up against that water so we got a chance to fish as well as watch the sunset. We enjoyed the staff when we got to interact with them, and the facilities were good!

Love this Campground ️ were here this week to celebrate my best friend anniversary its her 50th and they met here over 50 years ago they redid their vows at amphitheatre with family ️

Camped here for a couple nights while on a road trip to Lake Erie. My camp site was right by the boat launch and it was amazing. The park itself was clean, quiet and well maintained and the park staff was great. If you go here you must check out the spillway... nothing can prepare you for the amount of fish you will see there!

Friendly and very helpful Pennsylvania side is great first time staying on Pennsylvania side went to Ohio side first found the people in check in station rude and very unwilling to help. Camped on Ohio side for over 30 years and will no longer stay on Ohio side. Drove for over 2 hours with 3 young children and were treated very rudely and disrespectful. Very disappointed.

Camped at jamestown. decent hiking, great lake for kayaking and fishing. even did a kayaking seminar while we were here. had a great weekend. thanks pa dcnr!

The park is beautiful with a large variety of recreation to choose from. The campsites are very close to one another but its wonderful besides that!

Amazing park. Nature is awesome. Lake is great. Lots of things to do. Been camping here 2-3 times a year for the past 10 years. Love it. Kids love it here as well. Well maintained. Clean.

Beautiful lake. Always a pleasant relaxing time. Sometimes the weekends in the summer can be a little bit overpopulated for my liking but that is also when there are some other fun things to do so it is usually worth the visit either way.

Very peaceful place to go

We love camping at Pymatuning been camping there for 13 yrs. This year we were disappointed the bath houses we not clean on a regular basis and the mens bath house had no toilet paper on many trips.

Very beautiful out there. Lots of people there though.

Definitely a large lake with tons of stops. We have rented a pontoon boat for 10 and for very inexpensive price were able to see almost have of the lake. There are also some beaches you can go to, plenty of quite spots for fishing. Overall, a great park to spent a Saturday or Sunday at.

I’ve only been here once but from what I remember it’s a really nice campground and lake. I explored the lake by kayak and biked around part of the lake. I saw bald eagles, huge Lilly pads and it’s flowers.

Multiple quiet beaches. Lots of boat launch areas. Very nice views. Lots of trails to walk. Multiple newer playgrounds for the kids. Landscaping is well kept up. Lots of camping areas plus there are a lot of cabins for rent in the area. The water is clean and still. The beaches are great for little kids.

What a great campground! The staff was so helpful and the scenery is beautiful. Everything was clean and the sites were easy to park my 30 foot camper.

A great place to camp, fish, take the family, or just relax with a few friends. Jamestown is full of friendly people, and the camping area is well maintained. As of 2019 the park has seen some rain, a lot actually... But theyre working hard to keep the areas open and clean.
