Loved my bed, room till I went into the bathroom!!! Old toothpaste on the counter top and an old crumbled used face cloth behind the door. They did change me to new room... however this should never happen..especially during covid***Add on. I did reach out like they asked but have yet to hear from anyone????
We have arrived to a third hotel which was Club Wyndham after coming from great hotels in Cape Code and Marthas Vineyard. Upon entering the room and turning the air condition units on, awful smell started to come out, I am not sure if those AC units were not used or broken or had perhaps some animals in there living. Then after perfuming the AC units we noticed that room was in fact not fully clean and sheets were not changed from previous occupants. I really dont like to leave bad reviews, I can easy stay in 3star hotels without any issue. We had to check out earlier one day as smell was just overwhelming. When I reach out to Wyndham of possibly getting a one night refund they denied it, so this expedia which was the booking agent. Simply disappointed and would not recommend this hotel. One thing I can say is that they had the best chef and cooking was amazing out of the 2 other hotels we stayed in. I would most definitely recommend the restaurant and chef Hakims cooking. I am also quite disappointed about Hotels.com booking through other parties and not their own.
Quiet. Beautiful view. Very clean. Would like to recommend safety bars in bathroom and cable channels offered.
This property is absolutely wonderful! Our trip was in the off season so we didnt get to fully experience all the hotel has surrounding area has to offer but we were more than pleased with the views and quietness that really helped to recharge our batteries. The staff is great and the rooms were super clean. We will definitely be returning!
Beautiful getaway spot for a birthday weekend. The staff had a bottle of Prosecco and two glasses waiting for us. And a very nice hand written Birthday card. The area was a little closed up for the winter, but we managed to find a few great eating spots and the beach was gorgeous. Thanks Wyndham, a new favorite place to stay!
Great brunch menu, not expensive and the service was fantastic and friendly. Mark, the bartender, was excellent! Love the atmosphere and views, a must go. Our meals were delicious as were the mimosas!
We were scheduled to stay at the Wyndham Bay Voyage in Jameston but due to maintenance Wyndam accommodated us at one of their facilities in New port. The room they gave us was ideal: great view, clean, comfy, and conveniently located to a great lobster shack. They also provided a sweet note and local bottle of wine to mark our anniversary-- nice touch.
Superior rooms with balconies are first class.
Second time staying there. Lovely hotel. Great service. Great views.
A little small but quiet and nice
The view form our deck was amazing. We spent hours just sitting and looking at the water. The kitchenette is very small so you have to be creative if you plan to cook. We used the grill at the pool and that worked out well
It was a beautiful place and beautiful surroundings. We had a room by the bay. There shops within walking distance. The service was good. Problems were taken care quickly and fairly.
It was so much fun
My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary, and we were very pleased. It is different from the modern resort concept, more of a throwback to simpler times.Great staff, on site restaurant, access to other activities in Jamestown. It was good to get away from the noise of everyday, and still be close to Newport.
Nice Wyndham resort with units with less amenities than other Wyndham Resorts, a small pool and exercise room. No whirlpool tubs or shared jacuzzi. Common washer dryers. If you want a relaxing small town beach resort, it is perfect. Jamestown was great.
Loved it.Just what we needed.Very quite and relaxing. Definitely plan on visiting again.
Great place to stay! Staff is extremely helpful and professional!Would recommend for a return ASAP! The whole place has had a makeover and it shows well!
The staff were very friendly and helpful. They offered suggestions on dining which was useful. The room was clean and updated. I love having the separate living room/kitchen space. I did not have a need for anything.
I was there in the midst of a horrific winter freeze. The staff is like my second family. The staff is very accommodating!I am a world traveler and although not a famous resort hotel the Bay Voyage staff puts in #1 in the world. Higher than the best in Venice, Italy and Hong Kong! The room is fabulous! I might be interested in the Wyndham points program...call me at 520-437-5237
Excellent location! Beautiful views! Easy access to downtown Newport!
Nice interior. Great location. Beautiful scenery.
Its a nice enough hotel, however the new carpet smell is overpowering (Jun, 2018). The public stairways are horrible smelling. It was tough to open the rooms windows, but it was necessary. (The smell was only lessened, however.) The pull out couch was hard, however a downy mattress cover helped that somewhat. Location is about 1 minute from the toll bridge into Newport. Basic service for a time-share, no daily housekeeping. 1 shampoo for 4 guests? 1 towel bar, so towels stayed wet and tiny bathroom became dank.
The hot water would take too long to come out. Water was cold for several minutes.
Amazing view, definitely recommend, rooms are gorgeous
Very nicely furnished room, clean, nice decorative decor, friendly staff
Ate brunch here overlooking the water. Thats the main attraction for dining here! Very good sushi, swordfish. I ordered the Avacado chicken salad- different but good. Big portions. Very good value. Our service was excellent. They serve an assortment of wines, beers and specially cocktails. A lovely, historic spot to relax and dine next to the Newport Bridge and the water. We watched a regatta in action during brunch!
This is not a full service hotel, but they notified us right away about what to expect (no daily maid service and the restaurant affiliated with the hotel is closed on Tuesday). With that information we decided this was still a great deal. The proximity to the shore, stores/delis/cafes, and Newport or the mainland made this an ideal location. The friendly and efficient staff and excellent bar/restaurant in the building (closed Tuesdays) guaranteed a pleasant stay. This is a place to return to!
One of my favorite places to Stay and have dinner
We spent a day seeing sights in Jamestown. Did a little shopping. It was a lovely relaxing day. We had a good lunch at Slice of Heaven the food was fresh and delicious. They are a gluten free restaurant. The first night we dined at the Wyndhams restaurant. Service was excellent as was the food.
Nice hotel, great location but the doors were sticky, and one of my closet doors was off the hinge. Couldnt close the curtains all the way, and there was old popcorn stuck in my couch cushions. Lovely inn but a little lacking on the details.
Employees were all very friendly, location was excellent with water views and walking distance to restaurants, shops, and the ferry.
Breathtaking views, quaint, clean, kitchenette and fridge/microwaveModern New England Balcony room facing the water.
No amenities...
The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and neat.
Quaint hotel with character. Bedrooms are very small, and the living area is separated from the bedroom by a wall. View of Newport Bridge from the windows. Bedroom was cold at night since it was separated from the heating and air conditioning unit by a wall. Room was not serviced, bed was not made while we stayed. Dining area and bar had plenty of large windows with view of Newport in the distance. Food was okay. Would stay again, however, because options are limited in Jamestown.
Comfortable, warm, easy to find and nice staff. Huge bummer that there arent any king size beds, thats the only reason why it doesnt get 5 stars. Location is quite nice and watching the sun come up on the bay is pretty.
This place is fantastic! Gorgeous porches overlooking the bay, with lighted Bridges and sailboats passing through. Decent pool and hot tub thats open until 10pm. As well as a couple very nice walkways leading to the water for fishing, picnics and just sitting to watch the world go by. The interior of the rooms is minimalist with a cove side aesthetic thats both calming and sweet.
Very interesting experience would highly recommend
I really liked the location, its close to many great things to see and do. The condo itself is large and well kept. The included laundry and all the little extras like soap and coffee were great. I wasnt aware there would be maid service during my stay and was surprised to come back with things cleaned and put away. This was alright, though it would have been nice to know about.
Staff is very friendly, (Cat did an amazing job). Food is nice. The view is exceptional.
Comfortable, reasonably priced rooms. Great getaway spot, in- or out-of-season. Nice dining, with inside and outside seating. Great views. Convenient to village shops and restaurants.
The Front Desk staff is fabulous! The seaside room with all windows facing the bay and bridge is spectacular! Having travelled all over the world, would have to rate this hotel a 5 out of a 5. The restaurant, although under separate ownership, is also, extraordinary!
Beautiful building with great history. Very nice rooms. Very friendly staff, especially Susan. Bed too soft for our liking. Great location. We had a second floor room with a balcony with great views of the harbor.
Suites are nicely updated. Cozy place for a blizzard. Friendly staff. Never tried the restaurant. Looking forward to coming back when the weather is nice. They should have a tea kettle in the suites. And more hooks in the kitchens, and more hangers. Other than that, no complaints.
Great views, clean and restaurant coming soon beach frontage
Lovely room with a small kitchenette and living room/dining area. TV had a good selection. The view was spectacular! It sits on the water so you can see the beach, boats, and bridge. The parking is free, but only one car per room. The pool is outside and not heated. There is no hot tub. In the basement exercise room is the ice machine, soda machine, and tow washer/dryers that are free for guests. VIPs no longer get a newspaper at the room, but they are available in the lobby. It is a quaint place, which means you hear your neighbors. I usually leave my TV on all night because I often wake up ( in that age range). I had turned my TV down to 17 audio, but the person upstairs still complained. When I turned it down lower, I couldn’t hear it over the room”s air conditioner. Except for that, it was up to Wyndham standards.
Nice property, great water view. Room is large and has a kitchenette. Its called and Inn and described as resort on the website, yet it is neither. Rooms are actually time shares. Daily cleaning and towels/linen service is not part of the cost of the room. AC units are noisy and difficult to control temp/humidity. When we visit Newport again I suspect we will try another property.
Great place, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, very clean and friendly staff.
We checked in late at night and still got a really nice room overlooking the bay. Elevator was down, but not a big deal as there are only 3 floors.
Nice rooms, only stayed 1 night so cannot give 5 stars because i did not have diner there. Looks like a great place for a couple to hang out.
Great balcony with our room. Nice restaurant. Conveniently located in Jamestown near bridge to Newport
Nice room, beautiful view
Darcy, the manager, is on top of things. Very boutique like hotel in a very unique location.
Very pleased with personnel and amenities. Decor is slightly dated but still looks lovely. Situated waterfront and we were able to kayak daily.
Stayed at this place for an entire week and was very happy with everything! The view of the harbor and Newport bridge is outstanding. The staff was also very helpful. They have a nice salt water pool if you are looking to stay in for the day or go swimming after a day in Newport. Downtown Jamestown is about a 10 minute walk from the Bay Voyage, and the Jamestown/Newport ferry is about the same distance. The room I stayed at was a good size for 2 people and was well kept and clean. Would definitely recommend this place.
Just there overnight. Townhouse was roomy. Your not going to be wowed by the property but the location is great. Good base of operations
I thought the service was extremely understanding to allergy restrictions and accommodating, my only downside would be the lack of options in the Italian night special which I had originally arrived for but ended up choosing something from the regular menu instead
Place is great. Views from restaurant are unbelievable. Live music was a big plus. Service and food we horrible. I got a steak dry The Rock. We had to wait for an hour for small pizza for my son.
The nicest people work here and our room was very cute and cozy. It was beautiful being able to have dinner or a glass of wine at the attached restaurant that overlooked the Newport Bridge.
Nice
View was stunning from our room! Hotel was very clean and well maintained.
Lovely amenities! Great location!
We had a great time at Newport Overlook. We had plenty of room for our holiday party and the wood stove really help with the ambiance. We were close enough to the water that we could go for a walk after brunch.
Friendly, being remodeled, our room looking out on the bay is great.
We went here for a quick weekend getaway, we had a great room with a balcony and a beautiful view.
This was our 9th anniversay stay at Bay Voyage Inn, and I have to say, this was the best its ever been for quite a few reasons:1) The entire front desk staff went way above the call of duty to serve us, including rearranging our messed up reservation (entirely our fault) and making it possible to have a wonderful long weekend stay. Thanks especially to Wendy and Aron--who left a delicious treat for us to make up for all of our stress checking in--which, I repeat--was ENTIRELY our fault.2) Our spacious and very clean suite was right across from much improved daily coffee. Last year I complained they needed an upgrade--and guess what? They did it. And now their cup of joe is better than what we usually wait for at Slice of Heaven in town.3) Our view of Newport Bridge and our balcony was sweet as ever.4) The restaurant has also improved a lot. We enjoyed an arugula salad and pizza the first night, and it was wonderful. At the end of our stay, we stopped in for dessert, and the cheesecake took the cake, over my chocolate mousse cake, which was more of a chocolate pudding. The front desk promised to check on ingredients for me and assure had not been Canola. You know thats my personal goal, to rid us of that very bad oil. But, some of our outside meals were so disappointing this trip, we really might as well have just parked at BVIs eatery and enjoyed more of their good menu. Thanks so much for making our 37th memorable.
First thing I’m from nyc, so I thought it would be nice to drive 5 hours to get away from all the noise for thanksgiving weekend. We were supposed to have a room overlooking the bay which would’ve been wonderful, instead they overbooked and gave us a room next to the highway. So instead of nice and quiet, I get to listen to cars all night. Willing to let this slide because I wanted a nice evening, I can’t use the internet unless I sit next to the elevator. So I decided to move a chair and table into the elevator so I can use my laptop. Don’t come here unless you enjoy silly shenanigans and a waste of money.
Went for Thanksgiving lunch! Was absolutely amazing, food was great with alot of options, service was amazing as well!!
We had a water-side suite with BR and LR with fold-out couch. Beautiful view. Verrry small. Overall, the accomodations were a little tired - lumpy bed, that hotel smell, etc. Service was good - courteous and responsive to our needs. Restaurant has a great sunday brunch. Bar has great wine list with good service. We would come back, but would ask for a room with balcony (2nd floor), water side.
A very quaint Inn converted to a unique resort with all redone rooms.
Best resort in Jamestown. Love it
Nice place to have dinner. Good food and drinks.
I chose this hotel because it was very close to Newport, and good value for money. My room had an (unexpectededly) great view of the bridge and Newport. The mini-suite room had a great living room, and an adaquate but small bedroom with a queen (rather than the expected double) bed.nnMy only complaint was that the Contenental breakfast was restircted to a few small store-bought muffins.
The location was ideal, the accommodations very nice, but the desk staff couldve been more informative, unlike other Wyndham properties.
We treated ourselves to celebrate our anniversary and were beyond disappointed. Our server was the worst. We waited almost 20 minutes before being approached by her then another 10 minutes before we had our cocktails (both short pour martinies). Hourderves took forever and left much to be desired. The first entree(the evening special) supposedly a prime cut of steak came out with a glaze all over it which we soon discovered hide a cut of supreme cut grissel laced with scant bites of tender meat was an insult. The second entree (lobster scampi) consisted of tasteless lobster sauce served over overcooked bland pasta. To make matters worse our dinner wine (ordered at the same time as our entrees) was brought to us 25 minutes after delivery of our meals. We did ask another server to help us and she said that she would tell our server but this did not happen. When our server stopped by to see if we were enjoying our meals we asked for our wine again. Our server quickly left to get our wine (25 minutes late) arrived at our table with 2 glasses of wine and said it would be on the house and its a good thing it was because one glass had the expected amount and the other glass was half the amount at this point we were unbelievably disappointed and just wanted to get out if there. We sipped our second round of short pours and pushed the grissel and bland lobster around on our plates as we waited for our server to come to our table so we could pay and leave. Our server never made it back to our table, once again we asked another server for our check and she said shed send our server to us. Fifteen minutes later no server. Now totally fed up we got up and walked inside to pay our bill. Once inside our server approached us asking us if we wanted desert. REALLY! We declined and she said we could have whatever we wanted on the house and that she would bag it to go. We again declined telling her that we were all set. This all happened on August 16, 2018 on a very slow Thursday night. Needless to say, this was a terrible all around dining experience. This was less than a sunstandard fine dining experience. Dont waste your money. Youd be better served at the local pub down the street.
Very historic area and Inn beautiful views of the water
The special was 2 Lobster sandwiches with french fries for $17. And we also got two cups of New England clam chowder. It was fabulous love the view love the people. On a rainy day it was the best thing to do
Very peaceful clean private....room amenaties above and beyond our expectations...we even had a private deck with furniture our room had what is called bridge view...
An awesome lodging by the beach
Restaurant service was incredibly slow.
So glad there is a restaurant back at the Bay voyage...very nice.
Modern and comfortable rooms with a wonderful view of the bay. Kid friendly with an in ground pool on premises. Amenities include continental breakfast, pull out couch, free wifi, in room refrigerator, sink and microwave.
Enjoyed every bit of my stay!!! The staff were amazing and very helpful
Excellent location and very friendly service. Clean and comfortable. Very relaxing stay
Right near the water. Beautiful view of the Pell bridge.
The view of the bay and the Mount Hope Bridge make The Wtndham Bay Voyage worth it. We stayed off season at a reduced rate. A suite for $150!! Very nice. Walked to Fish. A great restaurant close by.
Used our time share to exchange, was very pleased with staff, room, service, and hotel.
Gorgeous view!
Hotel a bit seedy but room was well appointed and staff helpful.
Service we fantastic and cabins were very comfortable.
Nice place just outside of New Port.
Great hotel, easy commute to Newport by car or ferry.
