The rooms are set up so real.. the puzzles are very challenging..even the easier ones-in a good way. Have done 2 rooms... definitely will be going back for the rest!

UPDATE: Expanded space is so nice! big facility and the games all tell a story but you dont have to complete them all or in order if you dont want.Staff is fun and helpful and it seems like they love their work. Greg helped us in our first interactive experience room! I hope this is the first of many of that type, I think theres great potential there! Great competitive prices for the area and the rooms are pretty challenging. Everyone is so nice and helpful.

We came to this place knowing it was going to be fun. Matt really did a phenomenal job the scenarios are unique and very challenging. Such a great place for family and friends.

We make the drive down from Yulee, and choose this escape room over others in the area. Good rooms and excellent customer service. Matt was polite and friendly and helped us book our room. We have now done four rooms here and can’t wait to do the rest of the lineup!

I really enjoy a good escape room! This is my second room at One Way Out. The story line is always interesting. We even had a live actor play in our room. She was very good and entertaining as well! We got out right in time. The puzzles were a little confusing at times but still made for a good room.

Really good experience. This was our first escape room. It was a good intro. We tried another one somewhere else and this one was much better. Staff were great and good at explaining the goals and such. Definitely want to come back and do the rest of the rooms here.

Had an absolute blast at One Way Out! The room was cleverly designed and we escaped with 11 min to spare! Shout out to the fairy godmother Amanda! She was super helpful and hilarious! I plan on going through every room here! This place deserves more than 5 stars! Go see for yourself!

Me and some friends took a day trip (5 hour drive one way) to play 5 rooms at One Way Out. We had an absolute blast! If you can play them in order of the story, I highly recommend it! You can tell how good the company is getting with each games set, puzzles and overall immersion. HUGE shoutout to Shana, Natasha, Ann, and Matt! They were so much fun to hang out with all day and Ann’s acting was perfect! Can’t wait to see what they come out with next!

This year (for my brothers birthday) we tried a new location. The whole family loved it!High tech set up and friendly staff! We solved it with 3 minutes left and cant wait to do the next room

This place is absolutely amazing! The staff is so sweet and the escape room was amazingly put together! I have Tourettes and the staff paid no attention to it and treated me as anyone else. They helped us and we had so much fun doing it. Definitely going back!

One Way Out Escape Rooms have been the absolute best rooms we’ve done to date. To personally have the owner contact you and recommend rooms to do was extremely helpful. The facility was spotless, and even had games to play while you wait. We did two rooms in one night, the rooms follow a unique story line that the owner thought of, and it was perfect. Each room leaves a cliff hanger and I’m so excited to finish them up. Our game master was extremely helpful and even joked with us while in the room. I was left speechless after the rooms, it’s not your typical escape rooms and you really have to think about each clue. I would 100% recommend this to anyone who enjoys things like this or is looking for something to do! Always support small businesses and give One Way Out a shot, you will not be disappointed. Also a huge thank you to the owner and staff here for making this experience the best one! I look forward to coming back!

Super BLAST with capitals. We came on vacation on Sunday, did 2 rooms and Matt was so nice and pleasant, we felt obligated to finish the story line we started. Will be back in future and highly recommend.

This place was amazing! They put so much detail into their rooms and the staff was very respectful. I loved the little touch of the worker interacting with the instruction video! Im autistic and I went in with my friend with tourettes. She was having a tic attack and I was stuck vocal stimming for half the room. The staff treated us as any other customer and helped us with the room. Definitely gonna ask to have the fairy godmother again and will return soon.

It was so much fun we did the interrogation room and it had a live actor she was really good it was a little hard but over all I loved it 100% would do again and the clues were very helpful

This was so fun! We did the Not SO Silent Night room with 3 kids ranging in ages from 5 to 13 and they all were able to participate. Definitely recommend!

Had a ton of fun on my vacation in Florida, my friends and I came many times and had a ton of fun. The rooms are genuinely tricky and weve had to ask for a number of hints on several occasions. The staff was so helpful, Natasha the GOAT for helping us out and dealing with our jokes. Love this place and we WILL be returning.

This is by far the best Escape Room location in Jax! And I’ve been to just about all of them. The crew, with a shout out to Natasha and Shania, were absolutely phenomenal!!! I highly recommend this place to anyone and my family and I will definitely be returning!

I did not enjoy this Escape room at all. Two of the items were broken in the room, after wasting about 15 minutes on them they brought us the wrong piece. The game was very poor in design. I would highly recommend the place by the St. John’s Town Center over this place for sure.

Family friendly. Amazing people work there very helpful on info and happy to go overall. Went with the fam and fam friends and it was super fun. Very hard workers and they do their best to help out in any way. Would definetly go there everyday if I could!

Absolutely one of my favorite escape rooms that Ive visited. Their rooms follow a story line, so theres about 7 rooms to do thats all connected. The moderators do a great job at assisting when needed but also allowing the players to figure it out. Absolutely dislike when a place start giving clues you never asked for but they never did this. The rooms are well designed and the escape rates prove that! They offer a discount if you sign up for another room whether or not you escape which is great.

So the ESC201 room at One Way Out was great, good for beginners I would say. Staff was awesome, shout out to Amanda-she deserves a raise. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because they did not meet my expectations for COVID-19 precautions. I was told on the phone that all employees would be wearing masks, they were wiping everything down in the rooms, and they were going to have us wash our hands before going in the room....However, neither of the employees we dealt with were wearing masks and they did not have us wash our hands. I can only hope they wiped down everything in the room before we went in. I highly recommend these escape rooms but I hope they do better with COVID precautions going forward because I was disappointed to not see the protective actions I was told they were using.

Ive been to three different Escape Room Companies. Ive done the huge franchise thing, and Ive been to another small locally owned one.One Way out is #1 on TripAdvisor for a reason.The Game Masters are extremely fun to play with. The puzzles are intricate and thought out. The set decoration is second to none. Their unique take on escape rooms is one that Ive never seen before. My team and I simply love the story line so much weve become addicted.This is a true gem of Jacksonville-owned businesses. It is a sure-fire way to have a phenomenal time. I would recommend every single room in the place.

I booked the Rendezvous Room for my sister’s Girl’s Night Out Birthday. When we arrived the staff was so nice and helpful. The instructions were clear and our questions were answered before we went into the room. Once in the room the fun began. None of us have ever been to One Way Out or any escape room, but we had the best time. We all decided this is what we will do for now on for our girls night out. We loved that you really need to work as a team and think about how to put things together. We will be returning.....

Absolutely had a blast! Didnt complete but we got so close. It was our first time playing. May have been easier with 1 or 2 more people. I recommend going with people you get along well with and can communicate with. We went as a date and our compatibility was strong. Good way to text your patience when in a rush.

Myself and 4 coworkers went during the day and we really enjoyed it. We did the Rendezvous room which had some very difficult clues/puzzles, we did have to use our 3 hints from awesome Amanda.The facility is nice and well thought out. Cant believe how many different escape rooms they have here, and how they have made the stories tie into each other to keep you intrigued and wanting to do more of the rooms.

We had such a great time going with our whole family! Everyone we met was so helpful, the game itself was intricately detailed and creative, and Amanda was an awesome game master!! We are planning on going back to try a different room soon

This place was the most fun experience Ive had! We were originally going to do the Blacksite Room (the hardest one) but since it was our first ever escape room we were recommended the Rendezvous Room. Its so much harder than playing the escape room games on a phone. Were DEFINITELY coming back!

Matt and Amanda are awesome. They seem to intuitively know what game players are looking for regarding hints and help. This entire place is so much better than the corporate alternatives around. Wish they did private rooms though. I spend a lot of time holding spots to guarantee we get a private room after booking! We will be back because the games are good...but Matt and Amanda are even better!!!

“Black site”. They started by taking us into a room to get ready, attaching belts, hand cuffs and bags over our heads. Then take us one by one Into the room. Apparently that whole time (15 min) is part of the 1 hour escape. After we break free and look for clues we find the belts have writing on them.,. Only they would never line up. After the time expired, they found out the belt buckles were switched on the belts so it would not work. We spent about 15 minutes on them and even asked for a clue.After the time was up we all complained about the belts being Wrong and the time starting before we were in the room. All they said was “that’s never happened before” and “it says in your confirmation email”.Huge waste of money. I would have been completely satisfied if they would have just gave us the time back they stole from us. But they didn’t seem to care. We will not come back. Player BEWARE**UPDATE**The owner got in contact with us and offered comp us another experience, this time was AMAZING! The room was perfect, the staff friendly, very creative and interactive. We will be back!

One Way Out rooms are fun, challenging, and engaging.UPDATE 12/16/19: If you have any interest at all, go do their holiday room! It is, in my humble opinion, their best room! Definitely worth checking out for the theming alone!On our first visit we ended up staying to do two rooms back to back, and have since done nearly all of them. The rooms weve done are challenging, there are many puzzles with misdirecting clues, and callbacks to details that require a keen eye. Id rank One Way Out among my favorite overall escape rooms and weve done more than 30 rooms at more than 8 locations.Pros:- awesome staff!- engaging rooms with unique and interesting story lines. Ive never encountered another location with a continuous story line. Dont worry if you cant do them all or in the correct order, they build off previous stories but out of order or independently the rooms are still excellent.- everything is local, franchises are great but local means 100% local creativity, talent, and inspiration - which I like to support.Cons:- first, I really dislike when appointments start late. If the rule is arrive 15 minutes early or risk losing your reservation and $$$ I expect my appointment to start more or less on time and starting 15+ minutes later than Im scheduled (meaning Ive sat for more than 30 minutes) is extremely irritating.- second, and it is the same for all the escape rooms that dont default to private rooms, is you may be partnered with strangers.

Having successfully beaten five different Escape Rooms in Jacksonville a few of our Escape Artists thought that we would try this new place and show them our mad skills. They claim that Convicted has a low escape rate (5%!) but our brains are mighty and experience is on our side. We took only 4 of our group to try this challenging room and...Ran out of time before successfully escaping.We were humbled, but all agreed that this was the absolute best Escape Room in Jacksonville. The staff are fantastic - the owner Ben is extremely nice and genuine. We all had so much fun that we decided to try and redeem ourselves with another room the same evening.One Way Out offers a unique experience unlike any other Escape Room in the country - because this is a Jacksonville original - not a franchised copy like some of their competitors. And the puzzles are challenging not just a tear the room apart and find all the pieces to solve 4 simple puzzles type room.They have 4 rooms currently (October 2017) with 2 more scheduled to hit by the end of the year. I seriously cannot wait to come back and try the rest of the rooms.

We did 3 rooms in the same day! We had the pleasure of having 2 game masters Abby and Natasha, they were amazing. I’ve done plenty of escape rooms in the area and in Orlando and this definitely makes top 5 for sure. Most fun I had in a while, will definitely be back soon. We decided to pick the hardest room they had. As a group it was so much fun trying to figure out what these codes and clues really meant. You can tell they put a lot of thought into these things. Natasha was our group leader (our God as we called her) and she was so much fun to work with! I can still hear her giggling at us as we stared dead into the answer she so desperately wanted us to figure out. We made it to the very last lock, but ran out of time. The entire staff is extremely friendly and make this experience a lot of fun. This was our second time trying to escape and it will not be our last. Thanks for a great time!

It was our first time and it exceed our expectations. Amanda (but goes by Nicole) was a great host. Welcome us from the time we arrived, guide us thru the initial process and take us to our room. The place is very clean and smooth smell great. Nice lobby decor. During the game our game master Nicole was awesome and the clues were great. We will definitely go back, which we already paid for a return. Great after experience to spend with family or friends. My kids love it. Thank you for a great experience.

It was really fun and the staff was SUPER friendly . Only bad thing is, the instructions for clues were not elaborate enough, so we literally needed help with every task. Ive been to several other escape rooms, this one was the MOST FUN, even though it wasnt put together as well.

I have done almost all of the rooms at this location! They are pretty challenging but super rewarding when you escape. Matt was a great host and made the experience a lot more fun. Convicted is definitely the hardest room!! Make sure you go with a group of people you communicate well with.

Would have given this 5 stars because we had fun! BuT our room was a little dated and the clues were really hard to follow. Will definitely go back and try another room though. Customer service was great, with the exception of not knowing whether or not we could order tshirts online since they didnt have my sons size.

Our clue master left us for 7-10 minutes to help another room, so when we needed a clue, she was not there. Then we get an email saying we almost escaped when in fact we did escape. Great theme and room...poor customer service.

Watch out for the slick new floors and metal bottomed chairs. The rooms have always been challenging.

My wife and I traveled from Columbia, SC and have completed over 40 escape rooms, never have we had an experience like tonight with a live actor that we need to interrogate. Such a unique twist to the escape room concept. Matt (our gamemaster and suspect that we needed to interrogate) and Amanda (our game host) were both top notch. Matt, in particular, provided for a fun experience and played his role very well by never skipping a beat. Can’t wait to visit Jacksonville again to try out their other rooms.

Collision was a great room! Challenging yet doable, although we used our three clues and had 3 minutes to spare (with 7 people ages 17-47). Natasha was an awesome game master and was super helpful!

If you are looking for a challenging Escape Room this is definitely a good place to look. Had a large variety of rooms and the one we tried Convicted was definitely well put together.Where this place fell short for me was the customer service experience. We walked and nobody was at the front desk, waited for nearly 20min before someone greeted us and I would have rather he didnt. He was rude to my wife, didnt even know how to explain the rules and then refused to take payment for our group. The guy that lead our group to the room was much better but thay initial experience of booking made me almost want to leave.

First time visit and first time escape room for the parents. The kids have all been to multiple different escape rooms. They all said this one was unique and different because it required you to use your thinking skills more than tactile skills. Matt was our game master and really made the experience fun for everyone.

Just finished playing the Christmas themed room and Natasha was the absolute best! Will be back again!

Our friends invited us to join them for a birthday celebration. It was my wife and I, the other couple, and two of their college-age children. I was really unsure about doing an escape room - just did not sound like fun. This place was great. They have several different scenarios you can choose from. We did Rendezvous. It is not just a room - you move from one area to another as you solve clues. It had about four different areas you would work through. The time flew by. With only ten minutes left, I was wanting more time. We managed to escape with just seconds left! Absolutely loved it. This was my first escape room experience and I highly recommend this one.

Went here with family it was a really fun. It was my very first escape room. I hope to be able to visit again one day.

My first time at an escape room! A group of us from all over the world came, experienced, and conquered the Interrogation room at One Way Out and from start to finish, both the professionalism and hospitality of the staff were outstanding. Homegrown entrepreneurs at their best--just awesome!! I think what made this room really special was the live actress. She was SO good! Since the rooms are all based upon a building story, it really adds to the depth of the experience. Well definitely be going back for the rest of the story! A night out with friends at its best.

This was our 3rd escape room with One Way Out and our 12th escape room all together. One Way Out is by far our favorite escape room vendor!! No others compare. The Patient is my favorite room. Do it! Amanda was awesome in The Interrogation. Well planned rooms and great puzzles!! P.S. My 8 year old loves it!

It was really good. I had a great experience, they have a lot of variety in the difficulty and uniqueness of the rooms. Also the staff was helpful as this was my first time ever going to an escape room and they helped me understand what to do, what I could have done to improve, and how to properly share information. I recommend it as a family venue, but dont bring too many people as you can quickly become distracted with some clues.

We’ve done almost every room here and every time it’s a blast. We usually have Shana and she is so much fun and helpful. Try them out, you won’t regret it.

It was awesome!!! We did rendezvous and got with 2 minutes left. Greg, aka number one, is awesome and was enthusiastic throughout the whole hour. Overall, it was an phenomenal experience. Can’t wait to come back!

Me and my team of 5 members have done every single one of these escape rooms, and they were all immersive and fantastic. I highly recommend playing each one in order as they follow a surprisingly interesting storyline, something you dont commonly see strewn across this many rooms. We had fantastic game masters through and through and were able to escape every room but 1, though it touts as their toughest room for good reason. Personal recommendation when you go if you want a silly but great to work with Game master ask for matt the genie, though for interogation we were able to experience a fun back and forth with having Anne as our GM.

Overall, I was disappointed. Their staff, Jorge, was great, which is why Im giving two stars. Without Jorge, this would have been a one star review.My friends and I did the Patient. The room itself was small and quite plain. Decor was minimal - with old worn out pages of the Jacksonville Business Journal strewn around the room, and some copies of common magazines stuffed in a drawer as red herrings. There were almost no clues or logic puzzles to solve; the first step was simply finding and assembling puzzle pieces to a childs Frozen puzzle. Even after putting the puzzle together, every step that followed consisted of simply finding things. There was virtually no problem solving involved, and some of the problem solving that did exist was nonsensical.The whole thing played out more like a scavenger hunt, but in a small space. Our team was out in 35 minutes, and apparently there were a couple of steps that we skipped, but still got out just fine...One Way Out plays like a cheap knock-off of The Great Escape... except One Way Out ticket prices are actually more expensive.
