A nice park on the west side, just outside of downtown; near a coffee/bagel shop and nice grocery store with a patio. A large sculpture focal point and a great view of the intercoastal waterway, however theres no boat ramps or piers. A lot of people go jogging and walking and its features a good sized grass area for dog walking.
A truly favorite spot for outdoor time. Right by the river, big grass area for picnic or games, plenty of shady areas as well. I love the wonderful diverse groups visiting this park. Great for a stroll or a run or yoga. Some come to fish, juggle or tight-rope walks. Many use for photo opportunities or celebrations or events. Some visitors litter a bit too much and are inconsiderate of others (no room for social distancing forcing others to go out of their way), but such is life. Come visit and leave it in better shape if you can. THANK YOU to all the Memorial Park supporters and city workers caring for this and other parks.
This park is so nice. It’s probably my favorite one from Jacksonville. There is a lot of life to see. Lots of people going to walk their dogs. Sometimes there is soccer games, people fishing. This is a great park for a picnic or anything you want. It’s located in a cool area facing the river.
Beautiful view of the st johns river. A beautiful park that is set as a memorial for those from jaxs that took part in WW1
The first Sunday of every month, theres a free World Peace Yoga class at eleven AM. Ive been going for years. Memorial park is always peaceful and is the venue chosen by HUNDREDS of events all year. Cancer fundraisers, musical performers, tight ropers, drum circles, the list goes on... Just sit and watch the water or put a fishing line out and catch dinner. Everyone loves this park.
Love the big open grassy area. You just feel like theres so much potential to do anything you want.I always want to know if the fishers ever catch anything and if they do... Do they eat it? The water doesnt look like you should eat them. Anyway...The fountain is beautiful and iconic just wish the ugly fence would be fixed soon.
Memorial Park is a beautiful place great view of the city and river soo many great memories have happened there and many more to come
Lovely park with a wonderful garden and round walking path. Lots of locals enjoying the fresh air and a beautiful view of downtown Jacksonville on the St Johns River.
It was a nice open space, but it is clear that 107 years it appears to have been open have taken some toll. A temporary fence keeping people from being a to just walk into the river is a little disconcerting. But it still has some very pretty flora and gorgeous old trees.
Love to go there, sit and read while the sun is setting. Great breezes off the river. Numerous people go there to fish.
One of my favorite places to go in jacksonville. Beautiful scenery and since the fountain has been remodeled its even more beautiful!!! And to sit along the river with a beautiful breeze is just simply amazing!!!!
Very refreshing and calming place. Great place to walk around with good view of the St John river. Loved the statues and great feel to it. Specially good if looking to do some unique pictures.
Very beautiful by the water...family and pet friendly. Well kept Park with plenty of trees and shade.
This is a nice park. Very lovely place to walk and enjoy outdoors. There are people there enjoying the St Johns River, fishing, jogging, exercising, and taking in the beautiful scenery. Theres an older feel to the area with the historical homes. There are small shops, galleries, beauty parlors and restaurants to enjoy. Starbucks & Publix supermarket is close. There are condos, VERY EXPENSIVE, on the water. Also duplexes with rental units, not on the water, that are affordable.
Beautiful park on the river. Big open spaces to run, benches spaced out, and walking distance to several restaurants. Just wish it had a bathroom. Its a great place for photoshoots!
Clean, open, nice outdoor area in Jax. Near the river and many food spots. Pick up a coffee and walk by the water!
Nicely maintained park. Feel safe here and lots of people are around. Parking can be a little bit of an issue sometimes.
Great place to set up a slack line, have a picnic, or just walk around
Nice park, some very nice views, but rundown and unkept.
Great stop on a walk and also a great place to do some laps or play a game in the large field. minor construction around doesnt detract from the view.
Great open area and with the work getting done itll be even better.
NICE PLACE TO CHILL OUT ON THE RIVER AND HAVE SOME PEACE AND QUIET OR A PICNIC ETC.. SO RELAXING ON THE WATER THAT I FELL ASLEEP. GREAT PLACE IF YOU LIKE TO BE NEAR WATER.
One of my favorite stops and a great place to watch for dolphins!
Great place to sit and drink some coffee or take your dog for a stroll.
Its a beautiful and serene park. Its right on the river and its just a relaxing place to go. You can walk your dogs, do yoga, play some frisbee, or just hang out. If youre looking for an awesome park in Jacksonville, Fl..I highly suggest you give Memorial Park a visit.
Memorial park has a nice walking path, nice view of the river, and some shade to rest under. The river wall is still temporary fromnthe damage done by hurricane Irma, however its a nice park to stroll in or take your dog for a walk.
This is a great small park park ideal for picnics with a great view and usually a cool breeze off the water.
Great place to take your kids. Well maintained and located in a beautiful part of town. Perfect for a walk or working out, to play with your kids or get out of the house. Well located next to popular restaurants and Publix.
Nice view of St. John River. But the fishing over the chainlink fence kinda kill the scenic beauty.
Nice urban park thats a favorite for folks looking to meet up for a morning run, adhoc crossfit class or simply dog walking
Cute little park by St. johns river! Really nice quiet place to read a book or hangout with friends! It would have been nice if there were public services available (such as Restroom, water fountains, etc. )
Its a beautiful spot on the river. I married a couple there and it was perfect.
Awesome place to enjoy the st Johns River.
I love how peaceful the park made us feel. My issues were there is a clear sign at the entrance that states no skateboards, golf, etc. And all dogs must be on a leash but somehow a man rode his skateboard around the park while letting his dog run around without a leash. And lastly what is the deal with the statue with the naked bodies? I took my young sons, it is so distracting and meaningless.
The park is always clean, great area for car shots too! Met the LOML here and Ive never had a bad encounter, even late!
Great place to take your kids and family is beautiful by the river
Went in the afternoon. It was pretty peaceful. It has a great view of the river and many benches to sit on. Plus, theres a bunch of shops and restaurants in walking distance. Its great!
Gorgeous, clean park to either walk or bring your pet and watch the sunrise.
Its pretty, but you cant skate, rollerblade, or ride a scooter. Only biking. And i think thats pretty stupid.
Gorgeous place. Did family photos and an engagement photo shoot.
In the mornings when its calm sometimes you can see porpoise swimming
My first visit to Jacksonville and seeing the park was a great start to my short stay
It was a nice breeze and I enjoyed looking out over the river while seating on a bench talking with a friend.
Nice park for a stroll around and busy with people doing all different kind of thing. Not crowded but everyone doing there own thing. Good atmosphere.
I raced my friend in this park then we chilled for a while. Ot was nice.
Love this place I try to bring my daughters as often as possible and hope to continue doing so
With the lack of venues and things to do in Jacksonville its nice to see this park is still a good place to enjoy th
Nice Park said well kept nice and friendly people
Visited many, many times - the view of the St. Johns River is amazing. There is a lot of flat green space to chill out or run around. People with dogs are respectful and clean up behind them. Great photo and film opportunities. Parking is somewhat limited, on both sides of the park, but you can find a spot far away, because you are most likely going for a walk, right? When the sea wall is completed, the view will be perfect.
Very nice experience, walking the dog. The park is kept up and vary clean.
I love this park...great place to walk and listen to the water.
Love, Love, Love Memorial Park! I take my daughter here often to take photos and also let her play! Spacious lawn and great place to exercise. Perfect for picnics, too
Really beautiful with lots of activities happening on the weekend in the summers.
Nice park. However, parking is a bit of a challenge.
I love coming to this park so much, its always so pleasant and nice and its almost always open and free to come to
The atmosphere was cool and lovely.
The park is a nice place to sit and enjoy the water! The maintenance however needs to be updated... the grass was way too high!
Lots of pokestops great view and good food around
Nice park for walking along the river.
Wonderful park and great for event pictures. I had my prom pictures here years ago. While I was there someone was getting wedding photos done.
Its a refreshing little park, bustling with people from all walks of life, in various enjoyable activities, feels safe, has a lot of trees and some flowers too with benches for relaxing. Most importantly the river view is gorgeous. Wish the fence would be replaced by something more aesthetic
Great park! Clean and plenty of areas to sit!
My family new park to go to we loved it
Great place to come and just relax or go for a walk with a loved one. The environment is often times picture perfect. There does seem to be a growing number of homeless that congregate their especially later at night. Over great park and great place to visit.
Repairs are going slowly since Hurricane Matthew but this park is still a jewel in Jacksonvilles Emerald Necklace. A stunning spot to admire the sunset and people watch. Some of the best public art pieces in town. Highly recommend for your visit.
What a great little park on Winter Point on the north/west bank of the St Johns River just below the I-95 Fuller Warren Bridge. I spent a peaceful hour or so here a couple of years ago while waiting to pick my daughter up from work. Check out my pics.
Love the atmosphere. Trees everywhere. There is a river view and a starbucks near by. Great park for exercising.
This place was damaged by the hurricane last year but has been mostly restored. Its a great place to get coffee and chat! Ans has a nice track to walk around!
Movie night was great until the rains came.
Nice area to walk around, relax stores near by
Memorial Park is a nice place to walk around and relax.
Quiet and tons of space with a beautiful view of the river.
This park tends to run a little crowded but its nice. The riverfront pathway is nice and the fountain/sculptures are great. You can definitely snag some good pictures here. Also the grassy area is nice for picnic. Parking is typically in short supply but never too bad.
Though there are special events on the park grounds toward the avenue, the highlight if this park is lookingout at the water and catching everyone else around you doing the same. Great spot!
Relaxing atmosphere and peacefulviews.
Needs a little work but its cool...
Nice walking area and good fishing spot.
A gem of a park in the Riverside Avondale historic neighborhood. Designed the the Olmsted’s of Chicago (Frederick Olmsted designed New York City’s Central Park) this park on the river with the statue “Life” by Pillars is the gateway to Riverside Avondale. There are plenty of ongoing activities in this park, from yoga, soccer and frisbee football to strolling around catching Pokémon, this is a park enjoyed by many.
This is a beautiful park with a lot of the history of Jacksonville wrapped up in it (for better and worse). I only wish the city would properly maintain the fountain- something they have been totally incapable of doing for a century. Instead of hiring a person to constantly maintain it, they let it break and pay a fortune to repair it.
Stopped by to sit and eat lunch. Beautiful park. Nice walking path.
Have always loved this park, its just so open and beautiful. we witnessed a wedding two photo shoots and two picnics all in the same park and no one was on top of each other! Its just a great place!
Despite being married in this park, Ive gone on to make many new memories in this place...
Clean and well kept park with a walking trail and a big lawn. Perfect for a picnic, yoga, or a jog. There is a view over looking the St. Johns river and a beautiful fountain and statue.
Great park with wonderful river views. Close to Five Points where you can choose from variety of great food options.
Spending a wonderful in such a peaceful place!
It was clean and quiet a great place to lay out and read
Beautiful park
Beautiful Park. My husband proposed to me here 19 years ago. As beautiful as ever even now after hurricane damage. Looks like they cleaned up the homeless issue you used to see here over the years too. Felt safe in evening hours.
