The Center! The best community center director ever in John Willis. This place literally saved my life growing up on the Southside of Jackson in the 2000s. Its the sanctuary in the middle of the hood. Always good vibes, great positive atmosphere, best staff, outstanding youth development awareness and much, much more

We held our church picnic at the MLK Center today. The grounds were very clean and free of debris. The playground activity equipment was intact and safe for the children to enjoy without fear of accidents. The bathrooms were clean and so was the parking lot. We enjoyed and appreciated the opportunity to spend the day at the Jackson King Recreation Center.

Great Gym

Our church use the King Center for our Green Garden Tea event we enjoy it spacious enough for what we need.

My kids have been coming here for years. They love this place. Keeps them busy and out of trouble in the summer. So many activities and even field trips. Totally safe environment. Dont be discouraged by old stigmas of the area. They have tons of staff and cameras. Ive never once had an issue. Wish they had something like this when I was a kid. Donations also help.

The MLK Center allow my family to hold a baby shower. Very nice facility & management team.

Great place for the kids to go play. My sons both love playing indoor and outdoor basketball.

Used the facility for a family reunion. It was the hottest day of the year so far. The building was open to use as a cooling center. The property was clean.

Really enjoyed the SOUTHSIDE REUNION seeing Old and New Families it was BEAUTIFUL...100!!!

We had a very good time here the kingdom life ministries used the center to have its thanksgiving and its Christmas party here this is a very nice pleasant place to have these events.On thanksgiven we had a large clothing give away and our thanksgiving dinner this went very well the people who rent this are very friendly and very help full to our community

They so welcoming and its all about our kids they love them all

Im down with the king center for life

Its hood straight South side Jackson. We love it here but if you aint from here best off not coming here. Go to Cascades or sharp park. Get mugged car jacked or catch a stray bullet. It aint safe.. unless youre familiar with the territory

Its a very good place for activities from small children to seniors but its painted dark gray and it seems like theyre conditioning the children for the prison look

Great community resource.

I grew up going to the King Center summer program and when I was old enough I worked there!!! It was an amazing programs both in the summer and year-round that has facilitated and helped thousands of children in the Jackson community and beyond.

Very instructional basketball training even for beginners.

My son and his cousins are on the kids basketball team which ran 5 weeks. When the kids games were split they accommodated us when we asked for a room for our group of 26. One of our members went to little ceasars and picked up pizza and pop and we used the room and cleaned up after ourselves. Long story short the staff is very friendly.

I hear this place used to be great but now its like a hood ymca i swear there are drug dealer gangs and the staff is the worst the building is dirty and over all kids get bullied there all the time
