Poo Poo Point is a great hike! Difficulty is 7/10. Its a great hike for hikers and beginners but is long. Some people might not make it all the way. But it is absolutely worth it!! Would recommend it for how close it is to the cities and the view is a huge payoff!

The hike has a steady incline, with rocky footing but it was all worth it once you get to the AMAZING view point. The trail was busy at the time (sat @ 1p). On a clear and sunny (WA cold) day we were able to see Issaquah, Redmond, Bellevue and beyond (sorry not seattle). It was also great to see the paragliders setting up and taking off. Will do again.

Such a lovely trail no more than 2 hours and a few min depends how long you stay at the top. Very steep inclined in the very beginning of the hike. Gets easier when your near the top. Theres two openings when you get to the top the first one is not the top of the hike you have to keep going. You know youve made it when when you see paragliders green mat on the ground. And a view facing north. Enjoy. And pick up trash Thank you.

I would recommend this trail if you would have like near by trails ( like Little Si and Rattlesnake). The elevation is moderate and if you are lucky you will have great view ( we couldnt get it as it was foggy). The trail is kids friendly and known for its View point. The Poo poo point is also know for paragliding activities from the base at the top.The trail has mix of Stony walk and mud, but overall it worth giving a try

This is a great daytime hike to do with your friends or alone. It is not super hard, its pretty doable. I had a great time and the views were pretty cool once we reached the top. You can even go a little higher and watch para-gliders jump off the mountain. There is also a bathroom at the top.

A very nice hike with very nice views at the top. Not too difficult -- the average individual should be able to complete it. However, I definitely recommend a decent pair of hiking shoes. The trail is quite steep, to, and narrow; the first time I hiked it, I wore some old running shoes with worn treads and slipped on the way down.

Hiking is my passion and this is one of the best hikes in King County. Its a bit of a steep unrelenting climb, but the payoff views at the top make it all worth it. No ripoff fee for parking or the trail. Not a big fan of hiking on rocks, but the flat stones are necessary, and they are more like steps. This trail can be crowded, most people stepped aside as I was ascending. People must love this trail, its well maintained and mostly clean. The killer view at the top is not to be missed. If you are tired or out of shape, you can stop at the first viewpoint of Mt. Rainier. There is a bench to sit on and eat a snack. Bring a real camera, you can thank me later. To get to the point (top) head East past the last square of AstroTurf. You are now about 13 min from the top. Oh my what an incredible view, and on a clear day you can see forever. Impress your friends by naming all the features you can make out. To the North you can even see Mt. Baker. This was fun and so worth the effort.

Great hike for conditioning, the slow and steady incline was exactly the challenge I was looking for. Trail is well-marked. Dog & kid friendly. The view at the top is worth the sweat :) and on a nice day you can watch people hang-glide / paraglide from the point. Beautiful lush & green forest on the way up. Overall, a rewarding adventure!

I love hiking this trail. It helps that it is so close to my house. Most recently I hiked it in March with my buddy for my birthday. Plans on going more and more as hiking season is upon us. Most people dont know about the back side trail. Its about 7.3miles round trip and starts by Issaquah High School. Less steep and a bit longer, but in my opinion more well rounded of a hike.

Its proximity to Seattle and Issaquah makes it a perfect hike to do if youre not up to spending hours in a car.

A great day hike just outside of old Issaquah. It is also a favorite spot for paragliding. The last 2 times I have hiked up, I have paraglide down as both times I found an instructor who was prepared to take a someone down tandem.Whether you hike both ways or glide down, this is an excellent local spot for hiking, having a picnic, and paragliding. It is important to note that there are a couple of spots at the top where paragliders take off.

Beautiful view point. Hike was a bit difficult than I thought it would be. It was all uphill, steep slopes. Since I went there the day after snowfall, the trail was slippery but lucky i had micro spikes with me! Many people stop at the first view point, maybe because it is a tiring hike or they dont know about the trail going further more. I encourage you to go further (take the trail on your left, its shorter and less steep). It might take about 10-15 mins depending upon the trail condition, to reach the actual point from there. You can see many paragliders up there and the view is worth it! You can literally see why it is called Poo Poo Point.

Great hike! The hike begins at the base of the mountain where a parking lot and landing field for the paragliders are. Parking in the lot closest to the trailhead is free but it was challenging to find a spot. I hiked the Monday of Labor Day weekend so that may have added to the challenge. This parking lot contained 3 port-a-potties, yet theyre not wheelchair accessible. Anyhow, if you cant find a spot here, there are a few on-street spots and a lot that charges $5 per car a short walk up the road. When making for the trailhead from the parking lot, be aware of your surroundings and mindful of any paragliders coming in to land. The trail and landing field intersect. The hike is family friendly but not accessible to all. Those in wheelchairs or with baby strollers will not be able to summit without significant effort. The trail is windy with numerous switchbacks. It has a general steady incline and becomes steep in some places. The beginning of the trail seems to be paved with stones, which makes for a nice start, and then turns to rocks and dirt. The trails are wide and appear to be heavily used but are in good condition. There is enough room for hikers ascending and hikers descending to pass each other safely. Several resting spots also provide a place to sit or stand to catch your breath. Im from the east coast and was adjusting to the change in elevation but was comforted to witness locals huffing and puffing up the mountain along with me :) Id rate this as a moderately challenging hike- definitely not easy. The overlook provides a beautiful spot for many hikers to stop, sit, have a picnic, and enjoy the view. A short hike further up the trail ends you at Poo Poo Point where the paragliding launch pad is. Here you can also sit to picnic and enjoy the view. There are a few picnic tables and toilets here. The area is more of a hill and your lunch may roll away from you so decide how vigilent you want to be before deciding which spot to lunch at. The launch pad area was very busy with hikers and paragliders alike. The hike down is quicker than the hike up and easy on the knees and back. I suggest taking some time to stretch at the summit as you obviously use different muscles to summit than you do to hike down. This can relieve any tightness that might cause discomfort on your descent.

A lovely little hike. I like taking the Chico Trail; only 2 miles round-trip but over 1700ft of elevation gain, its deceptively steep! Expect between 30 mins (sprinting) to 1.5 hours (strolling) to ascend. The first clearing has a beautiful Vista looking south towards Rainier, but keep walking for 10 minutes to reach the hang gliding slopes. You can see Issaquah and just a sliver of Bellevue. This view faces the setting sun, which makes it a perfect evening hike.

I love this place, the view from here is amazing. The paragliding from here is so way cool, make shure to bring a camera to get some cool pictures. You can hike up from the parking lot at the bottom next to the paragliding school. Or you can get on the shuttle to get there. Make sure to bring water or snacks. Oranges seam to be some good energy to get there . a small flash light would be pretty sweet if you dont get down in time . I came in from highway 18 one time had to walk out in the dark. I will never come in from highway 18 again its the long way Inn. You can contact the paragliding school to find out about shuttle rides, or about going on a paragliding ride. Honestly, this trail for me was hard due to the fact that Im fat and havent hiked in like 5 years, (if not more) but golly was it worth it once you got to the look out! Theres 2 of them, the first one is great but the second of was awesome and well worth the hike up there. I think it took me like 3.5 hours it for the whole hike, which isnt bad for a fat chick lol. It was so painful for me but I loved all of it!!! If you havent gone, go...even if you think youre way out of shape or too fat or cant. You just gotta do it for yourself and for that second gorgeous view!!! In life you got to push your own boundaries and limitations & take risks because thats how you grow, even in the pain. The picture with the lady in it, is the second lookout point. Man, I hated going up it, but that view is soooooo worth it!!!
