Wonderful park! There are many things one could do. Its kid friendly clean. People are friendly. Beautiful setting on the lake. If youre close by and have some free time or want to take the kids out I would make a stop here.
Great park! The playground has a lot of fun, cool equipment. There is also lots of parking available. The beach is awesome. It is very clean and spacious. It stays shallow for quite a ways out so good for little kids to play in. Good place to paddle board.
Great family park! Something for everyone. Pretty of space for social distance. Due to plenty of flat surface, ideal place to teach kids to ride bike.
Popular beach and playground. The trails are okay, theres fields of flowers in the warm months.
There are so many people barbecuing and swimming. Still packed in this pandemic. I took a trail along the lakeside, and thankfully there were not that many people. There was a paved road connecting to unpaved road. You will end up running neighborhoods along the lake. There is no shade for runners. I enjoyed nice weather and beautiful scenery though.
This is a great state park and always fun to visit, lots of parking even when the park is crowded. Some things to know though is that this park is a state park so does require a discover pass to park here (can be purchased on-site).Google maps also sometimes directs people (including myself recently) towards the boat ramp section of the park, not the public parking area which can cause issues with getting in and long lines. Verify the area youre going to is the correct section before following google to get there (the map for the actual parking shows much longer roads than just a loop).
Amazing park with lot of open public spaces and grilling areas. Best place to relax and read a book or hang out and play with kids. Must visit if you are in the area
Theres more than enough space for parking, sun-bathing, swimming, exploring trails, launching boats, water sports, and/or whatever else you might have come here for - despite usually being very busy. The water is quite warm compared to other local bodies of water.4/5 because they require a discovery pass or payment to park here.
Liked this park! A little difficult to navigate by walking to all the beaches, but the views are spectacular. Well worth it to head down there.
A lot of grass areas, picnic benches, beach areas, and playground. Was a little crowded when we went and many parents and their kids were not wearing masks at the playground. Otherwise plenty of room elsewhere to spread out.
This park had nice walking trails, little plaques that told you about the trees that grow there and what they were used for. We went in Spring and there were little wild flowers growing like a carpet all throughout the grass. they have multiple beaches for swimming that are roped off with boueys it is a beautiful park, glad we stopped by. Will come back.
Very good lake... enough space for playing, BBQ, parking.. very good for small kids as beach is not so deep... also few water activities available like Kayaking etc..
The park is beautiful. There is a lot of room to play assorted sports. The playground is large with a lot of play sets.
Clean, pretty, and lots to explore. Great park to get away and relax, not to far away from Seattle.
Great place for kids and bbq on the water. the water temperature is a lot warmer than previously thought. great for swimming and paddleboarding.
Perfect place, There is plenty of parking, the entrance is convenient, there are tables and enough space to sit, you can rent kayaks, the sand in the lake is different from regular sand but still nice sand and the children can play. It is recommended to enter the water with sandals or water shoes.
Great Lake even if the parking lot was a little rough. Great for kids!
Nice place to meet up with friends and enjoy the beach atmosphere. The park can get crowded and I didnt see many people social distancing or wearing masks in groups. Be safe!
Two beaches, the first one you come to is smaller and has paddleboard rentals. The best is that it is not very crowded, no lifeguards. Rocky bottom, but good slope and nice warm water in the summer. Our favorite place to go swimming.
Really awesome play ground but I had to take off a star because of the litter. I understand Covid has taken some things we hold dear.
Beautiful park and natura. I love this place.
Close to the city and a peaceful quiet beach to sit down with your loved ones and have a nice time.
Good park, they have 2 different beaches in the area we went. One has a sort of pebble sand like beach which is more I guess you could say an adult beach. It has a huge grass area and plenty of benches for seating plus a decent sized beach area thats not to busy. The second area is more of a sandy beach but more set out toward families, it has a pretty good sized playground a few walking trails both have plenty of parking but beach 2 (sandy beach) def. Has more family oriented stuff they have plenty of benches for seating as well. You can grill at both places, we set up volley ball and bags with no issues and plenty of room for a others as to no disturb people. Other have amazing sunsets as well! Overall a good day out! Would highly recommend this park!
Great big huge (as in massive) day-use only park along a huge huge lake with plenty of picnic tables and shaded trees to setup lounge chairs to kick back and relax for a few hours.
We only stopped at the park to use th RV dump station. The only reason I did not give it 5 starts is it dis not have potable water source to fill our fresh water tank. I wish I could give 4.5 starts, because I usually dont feel 100% OK with adding fresh water where I am dumping, well you know, dumping! Cost was a reasonable $5 cash, paid to the Iron Ranger. You could stop at the office to pay with credit card. Access was only 2-3 minutes off the freeway - nice! And of course it is a beautiful park. Safe travels to you!
Its very good play area for kids. Easily we can spend a day over there with no boring.
Good family oriented beach with shallow area for kids to swim, launch a raft or a paddle board. Plenty of parking and beautiful green area. 20 minutes from downtown Seattle
Great for swimming and picnics. Plenty of parking and grill stands. Rather busy on the weekends though and there can be a wait to get into the park. Be sure to get a discover pass before going in order to save yourself time when getting into the park.
This is a really nice park that has multiple entrances. There are a couple of beaches for little ones to wait in. You may want them to wear water shoes because they are a little rocky. The sand leading up to the water is really nice and kids can get lost in it for hours. They have a nice playground for kids as well. Lots of shade can be found at the park and you can look out on busy weekends and snatch a cabana.
Ive been going here since high school which was 40 years ago! Great park! I have nothing more to say I hadnt been here since I was in my 20s and it still didnt disappoint
I SUP and my boyfriend kayaks. Lake Sammamish was beautiful and a nice change of pace from Lake Union and Lake Washington. The water was pretty warm and quiet, and admiring all the beautiful lake homes was fun.
Lake Sammamish State Park is a wonderful place to take a road-trip w/ Family/Friends,to enjoy the outdoors w/ a variety of different things to enjoy from fishing to sports events being practiced...TheRealInternetMan
Awesome for a sunny afternoon, we had a picnic with our nieces and went out paddle boarding for a couple of hours. The parking was very close to the beach where we could launch our paddle boards. Lots of open spaces and to have a lunch picnic. You have to have a discover pass to park in the lot.
Grew up going to this lake when it is nice out. Now I take my children. The kids playground is amazing.
Walk in the park trails...not muddy when wet.
Was here for the Inflatable Race. Its a great park with wide trails and lake access.
Want to see rich people wreck a Mastercraft? Ever seen a flooded, sinking jet ski? Have you never been hurt launching or recovering a boat?I personally love this launch...
I run on the East Lake Sammamish Trail multiple times a week and LOVE it! My husband and I are looking for a home to buy and I already told him I want to love within walking distance to this trail because it is wonderfully maintained, clean, and beautiful.Ive also visited the park multiple times with my nephews and have gone SUP from the beach. So much to do with friends and family! Its overall a wonderful park with amenities.
Good access boat launch with on-site manager.Bathrooms are in tough shape (dirty) so an ahead if you need facilities.
We love this park, plantings are nice, large beach area, and an attendant picking up trash.
Amazingly warm water, clean beach and park. Have to pay 10$ for parking or have a discover pass. Pea pebble is not exactly ideal for walking bare feet, but they got great playground! Lots of parking!
I used the park for the boat launch. The launch is large with multiple lanes, paved out under water, ample truck and trailer parking, and ample single vehicle parking. Its nice having the bathroom with flushing toilets and sinks. The bathroom was clean but needs a bit of updating. We fished for 6 hours by boat and caught several fish.
Beautiful local park. Has so many activities. Kayaking/ trails/ boat launch/ big park events like beach volleyball. Pretty nice park
Very Crowded. Not much swimming space. Lots of litter.Nice to have a spot for the public but it isnt big enough.
Very beautiful park near Lake Sammamish. It has many beaches, with boat rentals provided. The rentals are a bit costly though. Sunset Beach and docks point are mesmerising! You can also swim in the lake. Loads of activities for kids. Theres a soccer field as well. There were also many picnic spots.
Family friendly park to enjoy over the weekends and holidays. You can rent kayaks for a good deal, utilize the picnic areas, and relax on the beach with a beautiful view of the mountains in the Issaquah and Sammamish area.
Beautiful park with a nice family friendly beach. Its easy to get to with ample parking. I imagine there is plenty for the family to do!
Serenity in the middle of a bustling city. Soften that hard weekday, urban mind of yours and let your feet take you through the woody trails to absorb peace and tranquillity
Fantastic park for large groups or small picnics, kayaking, great childrens playground, large sandy beaches and well kept grassy areas. Large clean bathroom and changing area.
Best playground. Has a zipline
The weather was nice and cozy when we visitied. The beach was clean and the children play area was maintained well as well. Most importantly my puppy enjoyed his visit.
Been going for the last two weekends in a row. The park is very clean. Nearby convenience store that sells a decent variety of snacks.
It is big beautiful and very busy lots of families having fun.
Beautiful park with bathrooms, beach, playground, and tree lined paths to explore.
The lake is dirty, but its beautiful on a hot day. The eagles and ospreys are really fun to watch.
This is such a lovely place to come visit with the kids. We only hang out at the park and the beach but it seems that there is a lot of enjoyment for both my toddlers. On a nice day during the weekend, expect a big turnout on the beach. We usually try to come on a weekday and it is never too crowded. The kids get to do what they want without having to wait. We like the little sand pit they have but I am afraid thst they will fall down on the little bronzed animals one day. The sand is also dirty. I mean, obviously sand is supposed to be dirty but dirtier than usual. We dont mind too much because kids get dirty all the time.Parking is free, for the time being. I see that they are adding a pay station and doing lots of construction.
Dogs allowed at the beaches, and the playground for the kids is amazing and huge!
Its soo nice and their is an area to rent kayaks and other stuff ! my family rented the pedal boat for r people and it was nice
Beautiful trails and easy to find. Great for biking, hiking, fishing, and picnics. Theres a beach area that will be great on warmer days.
Amazing trails for walking & running. Great place to take kids, lots of critters to be seen.
Beautiful sandy beach area, clean of garbage, has public bathrooms and a snack shack. So much fun for the whole family.
It has everything for kids; trails, playground, water, and sand.
Is was nice but people stared getting closer for shade. Thats when we noticed getting packed and due to COVID yeah wasnt chancing it :) but a very beautiful place love it here always
Not very well maintained these days. But sights are pretty.
A beautiful waterside park with everything you could ask for: gorgeous views, beaches with volleyball nets, playgrounds, fields, spacious parking lots, and even clean bathrooms. Its a convenient spot to have a barbeque lunch as well. Plenty of picnic tables, benches, and grills are available for use. And be sure to check out Issaquah Paddle Sports to rent a paddle board, kayak, or pedal boat and explore Lake Sammamish. I would have loved to walk more of the trails, but that will have to wait until next time!As this is a state park, a Discover Pass is required for parking. If you dont have an annual pass ($30), you can also purchase a one-day pass ($10). Another option is to take advantage of State Park Free Days.Facilities are clean and seem well maintained.Great grills and grassy areas - some group sites have covered areas some do not. As well, there seems to be more picnic tables on some sites than on others. The pros are that The park is nice and there is ample parking. The beach part is a bit small, so on summer days, it is really crowded. Other than the beach, the rest of the park is a standard park.Lots of parking and fairly accessible from most parts of the eastside. Its a perfect place to hung out with friends. kids friendly, playground with many facilities. The lake is suitable for children to play with water, and the huge beach is also a good place for children to spend time. Adults can have a picnic with friends, barbecue or hot pot, or just sunbathe and enjoy the lake view. There are great amenities, a really nice playground for the kids, lots of restrooms, a swimming area, too cold be be used now. We will back more often.
Lovely walk around the Lake Sammamish today even with the rain. The dog enjoyed it too. We met several fishermen doing their thing around the lake. Also noticed several life jackets scattered around the beach near the big playground. It’s sad to know there are some irresponsible parents around here that are not giving a second thought of putting them back to its right place after using it.Cleanup after yourself and your dogs people! It’s lovely beach so keep it clean!!Also I enjoyed kayaking in this lake yesterday, love it!
I was told this lake was fun to swim in but the day I went, the water was incredibly cloudy and full of plants that you dont want to walk through.
This beautiful Park has serenity and wonderful views of a river and nice people. For being in a pandemic this city offers great views of a city that is clean and has clean air to breathe. Good times and great memories.
Great place to chill and spend time with the family while social distancing!
Delightful area. Clean water for kids and adults to enjoy swimming. Very big park and lots of tables available.
Beautiful, very nice kids playground. Best mom and baby swings I have seen. Clean beach. Easy to park.
Fairly crowded especially in the playgrounds, but well maintained.
Trails and beaches are great for watching bald eagles
Beautiful place to chill for the day or just walk around. Even when its not swimming weather, still a lot to do there. They have tables and bbqs and trails to walk.
This park has got something for everybody. I usually rent kayaks and paddle boards from the Issaquah Paddle Sports. Its a lot of fun and the waters are very quiet and speed boats usually dont make it down south so there isnt a lot of wake which could potentially tip your kayak/board over. The park also has a small beach which the kids seem to enjoy. The small hikes are great and ideal for a run. The park is crowded over the weekend with barbecues and what have you. Its a fun atmosphere. Remember, you do need a discovery pass to park.
I came here with my dog to enjoy a respite from the rain. I didnt realize how extensive the trails are in the park. It was nice walking her in the park, and we both got some fresh air and exercise! She had a great time!
Great park, REALLY crowded. Definitely prefer a weekday visit.
Great view of the lake and plenty of entertainment for children and adults Very thoughtfully small private sheds are available for picnics. The story of the revival of the lake is displayed together with trying to revive the red fish.Strongly recommended on any sunny day for a picnic
Great playground and beach for kids. Water was very clean.
Came here twice for kayaking. The lake is super calm and very kid friendly. The kids love the ice cream treats at the end.
Great state park. Has picnic facilities, beach access to Lake Sammamish, baseball field, etc. Even has stand up paddleboard rentals in the summer. Playgrounds is great for the kids to spend hours on. Parking requires a discovery pass otherwise you can purchase one from the front booth or park station on site. Often has activites and fairs in the summer.
Many things to do, has a great beach and trails for walking and playing. AVP Volleyball professional event in the summer, super fun to watch and girls can play as well.
Very nice place to chillax. They even have life jackets if you need one.
Great place. Its huge spacious and has handicapped ramp that goes into the water so wheelchair bound people can he rolled right onto water with handrails on each side. Ingenious! Ridiculous to keep your dog on leash but its enforced by people who park rangers even when dogs are just sniffing freely. Only down is people who cant mind their own business.
Great summer park. Large gravel beach ideal for 2 - 12yr olds. Also swings and playground.
Nice beach with a small trail and play area for kids too. Have nicen clean restrooms
