A part of the Touchstone Climbing Gyms. Place is huge with many various challenging routes for any level climber. Well padded floors in all climbing areas. It is bouldering only so there are no ropes here. LA Boulder has locker rooms (bring your own lock) and showers, bikes, weights and some other exercise equipment. Parking can be tough at times with a small lot in front. Park in LAB marked spots and not gun club. Otherwise park against the wall facing the gym or down the street. $25 for a day pass as of July 18. Rental available for shoes and chalk. Some classes offered for climbing and yoga. Open weekdays til 10pm only until 6pm on weekends. Wish they would be open later on weekends.
This place was amazing! The people were nice and it wasnt overcrowded. They were changing a section when I got there but the place is big enough that it didnt matter.
Really nice facility with all of the features & equipment that u could ask for on a community center. The gym is spacious & has very good modern equipment. The pool is amazing & the basketball courts are spectacular. This is a place that the whole family from young to old can enjoy on a regular basis. On top of all that the staff there is very friendly & welcoming!
Great activities. Family friendly. Several basketball courts, pool, full gym
Extremely nice.. well organized.. safe.Great staff, easy parking.. everything and more of what you would expect
My kids used to go all the time when they were small. Someone walked them from school to the after school program at the J
Attended a school play was very nice, well layed out great parking
Excellent space that is run by friendly, helpful staff.
VERY impressive facility.Classes for fun and fitness going on all the time. Plays, team sports... always events for the kids (little me is really jealous).AND theres Kids Night Out which is really a thinly disguised baby sitter so parents can enjoy a night of freedom!!This is a place to grow kids and enrich your life. Again I say, I am Very well Impressed.
News & views; great program/outside moderator to discuss the flag history and respect
The best equipped, friendliest gym Im ever used. The staff greets everyone with a smile. The machines are new and well-maintained. Theres always a supply of sliced oranges and water. The locker room has stocked raisers, hair products, etc. And the pool salinity is perfect for goggle-free swimming.
So many amenities to mention like towels, hair products, shaving razors & shaving gel, cotton ear swabs, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, easy parking etc etc. The staff is very friendly and the facility is always clean. The gym is well equipped and there many classes and courses in addition to the outdoor pool. Just a great place.
Love this gym. Staff is friendly and you get a cool towel and orange slices after your workout.
The summer camps here are phenomenal, Ive made so many memories Ill never forget. This is a place where everybody is welcome, no matter what religion or ethnicity.
Such a great preschool and establishment
My two girls have been going to the preschool here full-time for two years (the youngest since before she was 1). They both love it, and the older one always asks on the weekends Are we going to school today? - she just wants it to be Monday so she can go to school again.
A friendly, great community accepting of all members regardless of faith. Lots of events and a great gym.
The JCC is awesome. The staff is super friendly, the facility spacious and clean. The pool is a pleasure. Just a great experience!
The JCC has posh facilities they keep them clean. Their childcare, however, is underwhelming. We had two first graders in their program, one with a disability. At age 6, our son was difficult to manage. I was working full time at a job with rigid deadlines. The director of the Club J afterschool program ignored all our communications; three separate emails, and numerous phone calls for input on how to properly deal with our child. I then called her and requested extra support for a few weeks because my husband would be on a work trip abroad. Her response? That is your problem. She then threw my first grader out with no notice, after I did not respond to her phone call within an hour while at work. It was a nightmare. The membership director seemed surprised that I would want to withdraw his sister as well from their program. While we understand that caring a child with disability is beyond the will and capabilities of the Jewish Community Center, it is a private institution so is not obligated to do so. However, ignoring months of letters and phone calls, then leaving us in the lurch with no notice was unprofessional. Happily, the city afterschool program was willing and competent to deal with both our children, and consistently showed excellent communication and willingness to work with us. I have continued to tell other parents of the great childcare resources the city has to offer. Childcare is expensive in Irvine but one does expect a basic level of courtesy and reliability. Since then we heard similar stories from other parents. Wasnt just us.
Great place for the kids and adults
Its nice but the security door nowadays is frustrating considering Im always forgetting my card and the people at the front desk dont immediately let you in
Absolute GORGEOUS facility! I cant believe Ive lived in OC 4 years and didnt know about the Merage JCC. The entire staff is friendly, gracious and love the extra security. Im a triathlete and have had a hard timing finding a place to lap swim between 3pm - 6pm, the JCC has lap swimming ALL DAY and I often have my own lane!
