From atop the 17-foot high walls at LA Boulders, a bouldering-only gym with several locations scattered around the LA area, youll feel like you can do anything! That is, of course, unless youre afraid of heights and too terrified to shimmy your way down the well-marked exit route. Either way, LA Boulders is definitely worth checking out if youve been meaning to cross bouldering off your bucket list or just looking to kill a few hours with some good ol exercise.
How are you going to make us pay for a twitch account for Late Night this year? Were already paying an arc fee without having the arc open to us and Ive been going to all of the Late Nights since freshman year.
Fantastic gym. Huge facility with multiple areas for various sports and activities. You can play pretty much any sport here except grass field sports. They even have a squash/racquetball courts!. They have two main weightlifting gyms that are fully equipped with squat racks, benches, dumbbells, and plenty other workout gear and machines. The atmosphere is nice and the temperature is just right, too. It can be a little crowded at times also. If youre a student the arc is free, but Im not too sure about regular membership.
They have several wheelchair accessible machines. Including 2 cardio handcycles and cable weights. The general staff is not well educated on these machines but the Director of fitness and wellness (Courtney Burkes) was well informed. She took the time to show me where the machines are located and how to use them.
Restrooms closed on the field but they have it in the building
This is a very good place to work out, and it has everything you can ask for from a gym. There are heavy weights, group exercise classes, dance studios, heavy bags for boxing, a matted room for martial arts and wrestling, a pool... This is exactly what I want in a fitness center, and it is well worth the money!
Can get a bit crowded, but has plenty of amenities and equipment. A great hub for students and faculty to exercise in a welcoming environment.
Good recreation center with a large set of amenities. They have biometric scanners with an ID tag which is convenient for entry. Large gym, indoor basketball courts, pool, weight room, and tennis courts. They offer many classes such as yoga, martial arts, and culinary courses. Overall clean and modern experience
Good facility, it misses a sauna... but OMG this place is always so crowded! Why cant UCI expand it a bit?!? Amazing prices for UCI community though
Always work out here. Clean and not too crowded
Great gym! I am there almost every day of the week. I love the F45 classes. All of the instructors are friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend to all students and faculty or just generally anyone with access.
Great facility. Nice football field and tennis courts. Good gym and equipment. Good lighting for night time. Parking can be challenging but they have a huge parking structure.Lots of people at peak hours can make the facilities a little crowded. But overall good place to hangout and get a workout or play sport.
Great sports fields with plenty of room for every sport possible. Grass is short cut and almost in perfect condition.
Great place to work out as a student of UCI. It does get packed at certain times of the day, but if you go in the morning there should be no issue of getting any of the machines. They have pretty much all the machines you could need as well as a pool that is nice to go for a few laps.
Lots of equipment and very spacious. Hand scan entrance is horrible tho. It takes so much time and is really annoying
Great environment to get a workout in. Theres plenty of machines although I prefer to be in wellness center because it seems more inviting than the actual weight room. It gets packed during times but the people there are quite friendly so you do not have to worry to much about that. I really like the overall vibe of the place, which is great since I workout solo. I just put on my earphones and get into my workout. Its also a good place for beginners since due to the variety in machines, there also machines that assist you if you are not quite able to the workout without some help. Theres even an indoor track and rock climbing wall so theres never a dull moment in here as you can always switch up what you wanna do
Great workout spot with diverse, quality equipment. The only downside so far is that you cant bring your gym bag on the floor and lots of the weight room stuff is constantly in use and you might have to wait.
Nice gym with 2 weight rooms 4 basketball courts, and nice pool. Missing a sauna. Steam room, jacuzzi, and ice bath. Pilates classes with Sebrina or Alina is an awesome core workout.
The lifting space, specifically squat racks, is insufficient for the demand and this gym is full of bros who act like anyone who isnt a block of muscle is invisible. They ignore other people waiting letting other bros cut in front to use the racks when they are done, and there is an amazing sense of entitlement, with guys just reserving a space while they arent actually using it and preventing others from using it under the guise of saying they are actively using it. There should be a system to queue up for using the racks because the current system just lets bros be bros.
Went to the ARC for Late Night during welcome week. It was a lot of fun. There were tons of activities and athletic clubs showing up and giving quick lessons. If you are new to UCI Id recommend going to this event.
A really nice gym in the community. Usually crowded at late noon and night though.
The ARC is like my second home. In all honesty, I only have membership so that I can come play pickup basketball with friends. The competition is petty good most of the time and it’s a great way to stay in shape. The gym and its facilities are always clean and the staff is usually pleasant. I usually stray away from the big weight room and work out in the smaller one at the end of the hall.
The most complete gym Ive ever seen. A must visit
I love this place, it just so nice
Sharing machines makes you stronger!
Woa sweet dude tuition comes with a paid membership!!! I didn’t know that but I know that now and this is awesome because the gym is awesome!
Great place to join and be fitted
Friendly staff and clean facilities. One of the cleanest Ive ever been to.
A very nice gym with just about everything you could want to do. Gets very busy during peak hours. Surprisingly clean and well taken care of for a university gym
High class gym that is equiped with high grade gym equipment and best basketball courts, squash court and tennis courts along with badminton and make shift basket ball court. The swimming pool her eis world class with heaters. Also has some fitness, yoga, and other training classes details to which is online. I would infer the experience to be worth every penny.
Decent gym, good pool. The kids running the front counter aren’t the brightest bunch but you can’t expect much from them. If you bring a friend it’s absurdly overpriced. Still, good facilities.
If you are not a student, but you know someone who is, you can still come and work out here. When I went it was a $5 charge, plus signing a waiver, and having a valid photo ID. California drivers license or California ID card worked fine Im assuming a passport doesnt also. The facility is very nice with an indoor track upstairs, that runs around in the circle. But be careful if youre running on the track because there is a tendency for some loose balls to end up running around on the track with you. The track is less than one lap around normal track in length. So youll be bringing a lot of circles but its still better than the check me out. Take the stairs up and down that youre Center, the pool is beautiful, and the facilities are nice and clean. I could not find a sauna or steam room but still love this place I think my friends who are letting me use his school membership as a chance for me to visit the Anteater Recreation Center, I think that if you were not there I would not be able to have gone in but if this is not the case please advise me and I will change my review.
Great facility! Would like to see a greater emphasis on barbell space, but otherwise couldnt be happier with the gym.
They offer very diverse options for working out. There is a rock walls and a track above the basketball courts. There is also a very good gym set up. Very nice staff.
The place was awesome.
When you enter the building, a giant anteater greets you and shakes your hand and offers u a jar of fire ants
Clean facilities and friendly staff. There is plenty to do there
Impressive site, lots of fields, tennis courts, ample parking and clean bathrooms
Well equipped and clean
Great facilities
Amazing Sport complex for UCI Student. 5$ for non UCI students. A lot of equipments available, really nice pool!
Really nice clean gym, free admit for students
After over a decade and visiting a bunch of campuses around the country, this is still the best on-campus rec center Ive seen. Top notch. During the summer, theres been occasions where NBA stars come by to do a workout, photo shoot, commercial, etc.
Awesome facility
What idiot decided it was a good idea to lock up the outdoor areas at 7pm when thats the exact time it starts to actually cool down in the Summer???
Excellent! Simply excellent.
Great place to exercise! Would definitely recommend!
Great place to workout. Love it here. I can get crowded, but it is not that bad.
Great facility. Wide variety of equipment and machines. Can be crowded but its usually not that bad in the mornings.
Pure awesomeness! Nice workout workshops and recreation activities.
Its has really good amenities for a good price. Very clean...quiet in the mornings when I workout.
Clean! Be prepared to pay for parking ticket or get fined with a parking ticket!
Want to be surrounded by a bunch of young college kids who make you either feel super old, super hot, or super subconcious. This is the place to go! The place is pretty big, with everything you need to get fit - pool, basketball court, field, weights, treadmills, and even a snack place. I personally enjoy chillin at the pool, dancing in one of the empty rooms, and working out my beautiful Santa belly.
Gym is cool and pool is always fun.
Love the ARC! Just wish there were better (cheaper?) ways for alumni from other UCs to use it
Its a great gym with free classes and tons of things to do. Its really large as well so as long as its not post new Years, there is plenty of space
Best place to workout near UCI. Always clean, friendly staff. and plenty of exercise equipment readily available.
Best to go during the day when there is no rush
Great facilities, friendly staff. They have an indoor track and a pool in the back. Its worth the membership
Well equipped gym, friendly staffs, pool facility, and lots of different games. One of the best things about UC Irvine.
Good Gym. Quite crowded in the afternoon, though!
Too busy anytime thats not the morning or weekends. Nice equipment though.
Useless and rude staff, plz do training before they work at ARC.
Stinky uh oh
Great facility, always improving, top of the line equipment and classes.
The best equipped and most reasonably priced gym in the area.
I come here to work out and play basketball almost every day! Its a great place and the staff are very friendly.
Great facility, beautiful pool, but often crowded with no sauna or hot tub.
Lots of great equipment. Several squat racks and weightlifting platforms, and a GHD!!
Best place to workout around UCI. Well Equipped!
Its an amazing gym.. Gigantic and with many things to do.
Go around noon or so to avoid the crowds. Also not really busy during the weekends either.
Excellent gym, well worth it for all sports.
Great university gym for student. May get crowded at times.
Love going to gym at night til they close
Too many people
ARC is a great, great place for every anteater and family to go to.
Great place to workout if youre a student.
I got $20 stolen from my wallet in my backpack here.
Good equipment, nice lighting, very welcoming environment
I wish I was a student again so I could work out here. 24 does not compare.
Lots of parking space. Pricey if youre just a visitor however.
UCIs pride. Its huge! and has everything you need.
Great facility for sports
Great facility

The parking arrangements are annoying to say the least.
