Went on the Christmas train ride. This is a beautiful place and I really enjoyed the facilities. Really neat historic information. Definitely worth coming and visiting.
Cute, chill ride where you get to listen to music of the 40s while you ride in vintage railroad cars. I went with a group of friends and visited while we rode.During part of the ride, you can get up and go to the gift store and look through the other cars and all the vintage luggage stored in the racks overhead, vintage signs, etc. Very fun!
Horrible waste of money for the Pumpkin Pickin Extravaganza. There was nothing to do. No special displays. No refreshments to buy. None of the staff gave any type of history of the trains. NOTHING. We paid $60 for a tiny pumpkin on the side of the highway. For $20 per ticket it was a horrible disappointment. We wont be back.
Quiet well maintained if you have little ones who love trains, or are into them yourself its a great place to take a stroll.
We booked our tickets for the after noon train ride in the dinner car. there are no refreshments served but you can bring your own. we passed thru many small towns with no railroad crossings so the sheriff had to block for us at each crossings and t shirts for sale on board . Spoke to engineers and gained a nice knowledge of the trains. Everything is good and i really like it
Amazing history and very knowledgeable staff makes for a terrific learning experience.
Took the kids for the Santa train last night. What a great experienced! We loved it. We had a suite on the 1949 Pullman car. It was awesome, Santa visited and the conductor brought us hot chocolate. It was magical for all of us!
Our family took a ride on the Santa train and had a great time! Our daughter loved it. The entire experience was very well done. Trains, decorated cars, and Santa!
Neat experience. It is a really cool day trip.
The train museum is hidden in a valley North of town and East of A&M University. The indoor and outdoor train displays will provide hours of entertainment for parents and smaller kids who like to crawl on things. There is a good representation of past train models and types. The best part of this small museum is the volunteers who will describe and detail the history of any of the displays and explain how it all worked... Lots of fun for a short trip and a nice location!
We went on the train ride on a dark rainy Friday night. We pulled into the parking lot at the wrong place and our car got stuck in the mud. I asked in the ticket office what we should do. 3 really nice men that worked on the train quickly volunteered to help us out. They got a chain & pulled our car out. We got to enjoy the train ride w/out the worry of what to do later. The kids will never forget the experience. What great service!!! I am so impressed & grateful! Thanks to the volunteer workers at the museum.....really good people!
Great place to visit and get a train ride :)
Went for the abandoned warehouse for photos.
I was told they were open, we went there No One was here at all, I called the phone number they said sorry .
The staff members(all volunteers) are friendly and try to answer questions to the best of their ability. They are wheelchair accessible on most rides. Some rides are not wheelchair accessible due to the nature of the rides but you should be able to find out which ones are and which ones are no when ordering tickets. All of the cars and engines are refurbished by the volunteers and that is where the profits go.
Wish the track was a little longer and food and bathroom were accessible.
If it has been raining, please wear proper shoes as the parking lot is not paved. Staff were friendly. Kids enjoyed the Santa train ride. We enjoyed the little history behind it all.
Great place! We took the Santa train and the kids absolutely loved it. They still talk about it in March.
This an American Train Graveyard. For people who admire the authenticity of an original paint job on an antique slice of American History. The Village of Chase sits peacefully frozen in a simpler time, just a mile from the four lane hustle and bustle of the industrial park. There are still many original houses.
We had a great time. We went on the Fathers Day ride and my family and I enjoyed the trip a ton. The ride itself lasted about 45 mins and although it didnt travel far we saw a lot of great local views. We will be returning to do another trip again.
It was an enjoyable train and Santa experience but I thought it was too short. If the train ride had been longer I would have thought it was better.
During the holiday season, Santa hosts several train rides complete with snacks and beverages. The kids wear their PJs and get time with and a present from Santa himself. Getting to go for a ride in the historical train cars is fun for the whole family.
We went for the Peter Cottontail Express the day before Easter. It was fun and our 4 year old really seemed to like it. I didnt feel that it was worth the money we paid. Proud we did it, but dont seeing this being an every year thing for us.
Great train ride!
We went for the north star. It was ok but they need to put more effort into it. Decorating the price you pay was high for what you got
Great Mothers Day train ride.
Good location for a family outing
This place is AWESOME!! A for real must do for kids. Its definitely a lifelong memory to share!! Price is good also. Friendly people for certain. The kids & I are going again.
A variety of old train cars to look at and they offer rides on some.
A step back in time. Perfect for someone who loves trains or a bit of history.
Great history! Even if the museum isnt operating trains you can still go in and look around and even railfan the NS mainline!
Great Train Ride
It is free to look around the grounds.
Loved our first color cruise on Coach 6090!
Unofficially closed to the public due to school field trips. No sign stating, nothing on the Web page or Google. Wasted vacation time and fuel. Very disappointed.
Grateful to have . Wish they were open more consistently
Online it said this place was open from 8am-8pm. When we got there at 4:45 pm. It was closed. A sign outside indicated they are open from 9-4. When I called the phone number online, the answering service said they were open from 8-4:30. So, I dont know.
Very friendly staff and fun for kids!
Great day with our family
Had fun with girl scouts. Keep the museum alive
Really neat train museum. Great for kids to touch and climb on trains.
The train ride was fun. Make sure you visit when you can!
Great place for the children. Had a great time on the ride.
Awesome! The attendant was so helpful, and knowledgable
Has scheduled train rides is fun for kids and adults alike
Relaxing ride and a pleasure for a history buff.
Great staff and great time!
We loved our train ride!!
Ive never been in to the museum but I think Ill take my grandsons they have a lot of cool stuff
We loved the North Star Limited!
Its was awesome my whole family loved it
From what I can tell this is just a train yard. Yes there are trains but I would not call it museum. We when when it said it was opened it was technically open but in a open abandoned lot way.
Brought 60 people on 3 busses. 2 1/2 hour ride to get there. Disappointed. Description of ride said winds in and out which does not mean go forward then go backward in same direction.
A bit of a let down
Had a fun night on the train!
Fun
FUN!
Kindergarten kiddo loved it...
Great weekend attraction!
Should have the volunteers tell more about the trains during the ride.
This is up there with Chattanooga Choo Choo Train!
