Beautiful place to bring the family or fur babies! Took our daughters Senior photos here & it was just perfect at the golden hour but be warned--it can get pretty busy! We were lucky to find the spot by the dock but there were about 6 other families & couples trying to take photos at the same time. Please also BE AWARE (AND KIND) and leave before closing time...When we were there at 4:30--the poor guy working there was having a hard time trying to get everyone to leave at closing--we left right at 4:25 & there were still about 25 cars in the parking lot.

What a great family trail. Its just the right length for small kids, and there are a lot of things to explore as well. The views are great and there are bathrooms as well.

This is a great place to explore nature with your family or by yourself. The main trail is very easy to walk and there are many interesting things to see. The lake is always very tranquil but especially in the fall when the leaves are changing color. Another added benefit is the extra effort that has been put forth to educate people on nature and area history with signs and placards. I would say this is a must see for the Huntsville area!

Great place for a 1.5 mile nature walk. It has small hills and level walking. The lake offers a nice view while walking with various places to stop for a view or to rest. Such as The Chapel, The Log Cabin, Covered Bridge.

Green Mountain main trail, 1.5 miles of hills and valleys. Nothing too strenuous, quite the beautiful place.

Beautiful area for an easy hike around a scenic lake. Simply just beautiful. Trails are about a mile or two if you take the main route. Saw many Canadian Geese around which made it interesting. Definitely a stop for casual hikers and outdoor photographers. I really like this place looks so beautiful

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL! My children (8 and 4) and me went today and we were amazed. So many beautiful spots to take pictures and learn about history! Was very pleased with our adventure as first time visitors. Very well kept up and nice even had one of the workers help my son get his monster truck out of the water! He definitely made my sons day when I was afraid our fun was over before it even really started. The trails are beautiful and we’re very easy. No falling down or getting hurt! Definitely will visit again!

I always love getting away from the city life to come up here, its always so peaceful and beautiful!

Simply beautiful. The trail is about 1.7 miles round trip and a mix of gravel and dirt. Its extremely well maintained, and theyre actively rerouting sections to avoid erosions. Theres only one moderate climb, and there are a few bits where you have to do some stepping over small roots or small rocks. Its definitely doable with a rugged stroller.

I love the Nature Trail - its a quick, easy hike with nice views. Leashed dogs are allowed and the paths are fairly wide through most of the hike. There are different more rustic routes for a little more of a challenge. This is great hike to take the kiddos on.

My granddaughter got married at the Pavillion today. Even the rain and the fog didnt ruin her special day. I cant say enough about how kind and helpful David, the gentleman working the park today, was. Beautiful venue, even in the fog.

The Nature trail is a nice moderately easy 1.5 mile walk around a small lake. It has a well defined trail, picnic tables, a pavilion with restrooms and water. There is picturesque covered bridge (modern) and a cabin built in the early 1800s ( moved to the site). There are also piers and fishing is allowed for under 16 and over 60 for a small fee. Unfortunately, some of the plaques marking trees are missing and there arent as many as you might expect for a nature trail. The path is rough with rocks and exposed tree roots so you must carefully watch your footing and it is not suitable for disabled persons with canes walkers or wheelchairs or babies in strollers, although we did make it with a jogging stroller with large wheels (it wasnt easy).

Very nice place to get away for a little while. Trails are nice. Theres places to rest along the trail and tables for picnics near the water. Drink machines and restrooms are there too.

Green Mountain is great! The hike can be easy or difficult, depending on which route you choose. The dogs love it and so do we.

Amazing place for nature / bird watching. Leave your kids bikes at home, too steep for cycling. But they have many other fun stuff for kids, no worries.

Beautiful. We walked a short 1.5 mile trail around a lake. Nice picnic area with clean restrooms.

This was a pretty little nature trail with a quaint covered bridge, historic cabin, pavilion, and contemplation garden. It’s a fairly easy walk, just watch for rocks and roots and if it has been raining, mud. The pond was enjoyable and had various waterfowl swimming about it. The pavilion had some interesting posters about various flora and fauna in the area. There were also vending machines and restrooms. There is a large parking lot and entrance to the trail is free, though donations are accepted for upkeep.

It is beautiful Lake if you enjoy a nice hike its got well kept trails but theyre not easy you do have to go out pills and theyre not steady the trail is filled with tree roots and rocks so if youre unstable on your feet I dont suggest but when you go you can turn to the left and theres nice places to sit and and just enjoy the scenery

Love this gem in our city. Such a relaxing and beautiful place to get out and enjoy the outdoors. The hikes are simple and the lake makes for a perfect focal point. Pet friendly and our little guy loved the adventure. Plenty of places to stop and relax along the trail as well. Just a brief ride to the south side of the city and up the mountain. Something for everyone.

Wow! This is such a nice trail to walk with your family or by yourself! Its nice to be able to read the placards to learn some history or about the plants that are growing in the area. The covered bridge is also quite nice.

Perfect little place tuck away on top of Green Mountain! The staff does a really great job at maintaining the grounds.

Absolutely beautiful location, a trail that is good for a variety of activity levels, and great maintenance and up keep.My major grievance is that its frequently like a giant photo shoot. There are often so many families/photographers/people, that you genuinely feel like youre getting in the way of someones session. As our family walks by one of the many shoots, the photographer will stop and the family will freeze in position, waiting for people to pass. No pressure. And good luck actually teaching your kids about the coved bridge or letting them play/explore the docks or cabin bc... Thats right, more photo shoots!It think the operators really need to address this. It brings down the experience of those who really want to just go explore, exercise, and enjoy the beauty of the area.All that being said, it really is a fantastic place to go and spend time. Solo, with children, a date, or with your dogs! Maybe just go when its ugly out.
