This is a beautiful museum; I definitely recommend it. They had mainly local artworks, but also a few widely known artists like Chihuly. The local artists had some absolutely breathtaking works here as well. Its not a huge museum, but its worth visiting for sure. The gift shop had some neat items, and it was definitely expensive, but thats expected because it is an art museum.

We loved visiting this museum so much! This was a perfect mix for 2 kids under 6 and a single parent. I was really impressed with everything! Look forward to coming back to see more exhibits. On the weekends you can park in front of the museum for free! Beautiful area and neat gift shop. If you collect post cards like myself then they have some great picks there.

If I could select 100 stars I would! We were beyond satisfied with not only the space of the venue, The Loretta Spencer Hall, but the staff! You guys are amazing. ESPECIALLY Ms. Jennifer Goff!! She stepped up and in on so many different levels and made sure our day was everything we could imagine. Even though our ceremony was in the park and not inside the staff STILL stepped in to make sure the transition of our guests was simple and easy! I recommend you guys for EVERY event! We look forward to seeing what we can come up with for our baby shower! Keep up the good work!!

Huntsville Museum of Art despite the tiny size it tries to cover the cultures around the globe. Great collection of artifacts from all over. The activities designed for young ones where they allow you to interact with the art.Must visit and there is discount in ticket if you are close to 5. I would recommend visiting on Thursday near to 5 the ticket is only $5.

My first tip is stop at the Huntsville Visitor Center and grab your 20% off coupon then make sure you visit this museum. The hand cut paper, tires, and metals were the big draw for me. They were absolutely stunning. There was plenty of street parking and terrific cafes nearby. The staff are friendly but the museum is a little warm inside so layer. No food or drink are allowed inside.

A great art museum thats only getting better. Although I miss the grassy meadow that used to be where the museum is today, the building is beautiful and the museum did deserve its own building separate from the VBCC. Thanks to the improved space, the museum has been getting more and more impressive exhibits, including a recent one featuring pieces from the collection of the Uffizi.

We recently moved to Huntsville and decided to check out the Museum of Art. We lucky enough to find a good parking nearby. We were able to take advantage of one of their many enereance discounts. My family enjoyed the art nouveau and I enjoyed the newly opened Vietnam War exhibit. We also enjoyed the interactive exhibit as well as the historical art exhibit. The museum has a gift store with many unique items.

Considering the relatively small population of the area supporting this museum, compared to one in a large city, and the founding of the museum as late as 1970, the Huntsville Museum of Art is impressive in its displays and achievements. It is not a large museum, but it does offer an eclectic collection of art, composed of a permanent collection, and external temporary collections, which frequently rotate to stimulate interest. Furthermore, it provides art classes to serve the local community’s desire to create art itself. The outsized support for the museum follows from the concentration of highly-educated professionals in a prosperous town whose economy is dominated by local high-tech industry, NASA and Army programs.

Their oriental section was unsurprisingly their best in my opinion. I did not get to visit two of the rear galleries, but the experience was none the less enjoyable and served its purpose. The only thing was there was a woman staff member who kept staring at my S.O. who was on a mobility scooter. I can understand the worry for the artwork, though in truth unfounded, but I was a bit uncomfortable with it is all.

This museum has a variety of art that appeals to all areas. There is an interactive childrens area, permanent exhibits, and exhibits that change, so there is always something new to see. Check out the website or call for free activities. Once a month childrens art activities are offered for free. Also, the is usually a part of the museum open for free to visitors. Free parking is available next to the museum or metered parking on the street. The museum is also a beautiful place for weddings or other events. It is next to Big Spring Park, so you can make a day of it visiting the museum, picnicking in the park, enjoying fresh air, and feeding the ducks! In the winter there is outdoor ice skating at the museum, and in the summer there are free movies in the park.

The museum is relatively small, but has worth-while exhibits including a childrens activity area and a walk-through-time tunnel. It is also well-incorporated into a restaurant with live music directly adjacent to Big Spring park - makes for a nice evening date. I cant decide whether this should get 3 or 4 stars. The museum was nice, staff in the gallery where knowledgeable and friendly. Huntsville is growing by leaps and bounds and the HMA is keeping up!A crisp modern structure houses contemporary and antiquarian art. I attended the Orientalism Exhibit which inhabited three large gallery rooms. The works were on loan from a New York museum and it was such a gift to be able to see the premier visual documentarians of the Islamic life in the 1800s.There were other exhibits too but time wasnt on my side. I look forward to seeing more HMA exhibits in the future!

We went with out three kids (3, 6, and 7). They have a nice series of childrens exhibits, and there is a great interactive section for kids as well. We all liked the glasswork and silver work. There was a large section of art from local children artists (K-12) that our kids enjoyed and seemed to appreciate more than the other galleries. The museum building itself is located next to a park with a large fish pond and walking paths that we also enjoyed.

Best Friend from Bham and I really enjoyed a quick trip through the Norman Rockwell exhibit at HMA. Its 12.00 for adults to enter the museum. They offer a 5.00 Thursday special after 5 PM, but Im not sure about the details (is it every Thursday, select Thursdays??) and their web site calendar doesnt indicate what Thursday either. At any rate, do catch the Thursday deal if you can get details, because it is well worth it for $5.00 Ive seen the museum grow over the years and have enjoyed everything from Maplethorpe to whats up doc, the animation art of chuck jones to the Red Clay Survey.
