I worked on commercial river boats for many years, this was a nice surprise to find in the middle of the state. I spent an other hour reading about the Miami-Erie canal. I love history and especially anything about early river transportation. This is a well preserved piece of history, definitely worth a visit!
Its a great place, near to mah friends cafe, rf cafe 1003 colonial way..spent great time here ..make your thoughts straight...
Good place to take a walk
The wooden doors are on the lock, which is terrific because you can visualize how the lock worked. This historic structure is part of the canal that opened Ohio to commerce with the eastern states and beyond. The picnic table, benches and path make this Park a charming place. Avert your eyes from the graffiti and enjoy!
Quiet and pretty
Pretty cool I love history this is a lock that used to be part of a canal the ran through Dayton.... It was a source of transportation before cars and before paved roads.. something you just dont see anymore
Has one picnic table and a quiet ambiance. Real close look at the lock. Great place to read a book on canals.
Cute little pull off park with a historic canal lock. Nice place for a quick lunch break picnic or to read a book. No restrooms.
A nice little park and trailhead for the bike path.
I love it. Of course i love medieval things & ive only been walking there once and drove through once
Small park, not much is there however. What pictures that exist show most of it off.
POGO
Is ok, not really much of a park though, very odd place
Interesting little piece of history!
