Took my wife for her birthday. Absolutely had the BEST time ever! Our instructor Dean was phenomenal! He made our orientation fun, informative, and made sure we understood the safety rules. The tournament style format was perfect for our group. Everyone had a BLAST and it got competitive real quick! As and added bonus the music playing was GREAT! Were definitely coming back. When you book make sure to ask for Dean. He made our first visit extraordinary. Thank you Dean for making my wifes birthday so memorable.

This is a great place and a lot of fun. The staff is excellent and would recommend for date night or birthday party.

We had a company team building event At BATL on the 12th February. It was well organized and a lot of fun. Dean, Seth, Allyson and Ryan were great instructors and kept the fun going. Can’t forget the bar tender Nick either .Thanks for a great time. Will be telling colleagues and friends about our experience.

SO MUCH FUN!! We will definitely be coming back. We did their Saturday night hosted event for date night and had the event to ourselves. I was super surprised it wasnt packed because it was such a great experience and nice price...not too pricey! And they served adult beverages too!! They did have ability to have Kings Sandwiches delivered...I just wished appetizers were a part of the choices. If you havent given this a try...you need to! Its a MUST DO in HOUSTON!!

Im sure the experience is fun and it would be a great date night or group event. My attempts for a cathartic experience of ax chucking were found wanting. I arrived with my fearless crew of 4 for an early afternoon in November, only to find the doors locked, with no signs of recent life. We confirmed we had arrived after the marked during marked business hours (yelp/maps) and our many calls went unanswered. In a last ditch effort to communication, we tossed a question onto the facebook page, which was responded to within minutes. We couldnt throw unless we had a booked event. I asked how quickly we could get this event started as, with this crew of 4, its always an event! LOL! I was told they needed advance notice. I couldnt figure out why the business didnt want my money at the time, but they seem to be doing well either way.I prefer to leave honest reviews and I wasnt really left with a positive taste in my mouth after this experience. The BATL website seems to have been updated with clearer information for walk in groups, which is a great thing. We will probably try again in the near future and may update the review with better results then.

First time throwing axes anywhere, and I had an absolute blast. The space was clean and well maintained. Bathrooms were also very clean. The bar serves a good mix of local craft beers and liquor.Our instructor/coach, Patrick Gonzales, was great. He made us feel like naturals with our ver first throw. He was supportive and cheered us on with every attempt. He even went above and beyond and helped us clean up our party supplies when we were all done. He really made the experience the best it could have been.

Awesome staff!! Nice and extremely helpful. My boyfriend and I had our own lane for an hour. They have different sized axes and change out the boards often. Will definitely come back

Fun 8th Anniversary gift to my hubby!!! Allison was great and was the perfect mix of honestly helping us figure out what we were doing and making it even more fun!!! The reservation experience (chatting on line) was easy and helpful. The only thing that I feel is highly unprofessional thus the reason I can only give them 3 stars is that even though the cost for 2 of us for an hour was $70 they required a $100 deposit which I find ridiculous!!!! Id love to give you 5 stars but money is a big deal and no matter how you rationalize it away, if you do respond to this review, I dont feel thats an appropriate request of your guests/clients.

If you’re back and forth on deciding whether to go here or not and need a sign, THIS IS YOUR SIGN! Went with my boyfriend and met lots of friendly people! Such a fun date! Pros (from good to best): massive parking lot, cool music/atmosphere, fun methodology, and awesome staff. Shout out to Dean for taking care of us! He was present and very attentive. Y’all. It’s just fun. This place deserves all the glory. Go go go!

Killer Staff, Great Location, Tons of fun. Had my bday party here on their first night opening and I have to say it was absolute blast. Nick the GM and his staff are super welcoming and engaging. Peyton and Dean were our two Axeperts/staff members. Both of them were very interactive and friendly.They have a great location too. BATL same parking lost as Kings BierHaus and less then 1/3 of a mile from Cedar Creek and McIntyres so lots of places close by to hit before and after.

Brought the competitive fam to BATL and Dean Cooper did an AMAZING job coaching, training and encouraging all of us! We cannot wait to come back and get better and better! Definitely will be coming back for more! Let’s go Big AX!!!!

Must say I felt pretty barbaric handling that axe, but all in good fun. Upon arrival for our group event we were greeted and directed to sign waivers electronically. We did end up eating first which was nice and much needed for the calories that would be burned throwing axes. :D They served wings, soft pretzels, veggies sticks w/dipping sauces, and two different types of sausages. All were pretty good, but slightly cold since they werent on burners. Im sure the pretzels wouldve tasted even better.As for the game/tournament itself it was definitely something different to try. The instructions and the dividing of the teams were a bit confusing, but eventually you get the hang of whats going on. I think I did pretty well for a first - timer, also had the opportunity to use the big axe which added more challenges - but again all fun. The staff did a great job keeping the competition fun and engaging as well.Overall, definitely a fun idea for group parties.

I just returned from a corporate team building experience here and we had a blast. These guys went out of their way to accommodate our needs, even opening up early for us. Their staff is super friendly. They were extremely helpful explaining the process and teaching us techniques. I’d definitely recommend!

We were a group of 8, celebrating my husbands birthday. Seth was a great instructor and made sure we enjoyed our friendly competition

Fun atmosphere and entertaining experience. Throwing axes was fun and was not difficult to get the hang of. It was only like $20 per person per hour, but they were not busy and let us go probably an extra 30 minutes free of charge. They have a full bar available to indulge in when an axe is not in your hand.

LOVED BATL! My boyfriend and I had a wonderful date here today! Paige, our host/officiant, axe expert was polite, fun, made us laugh, cheered us on, took some photos of us and made our first experience here such a pleasant one to remember. Batl is the only axe throwing experience I’ve tried, but it was great! The staff is very friendly and helpful. They will get you oriented and provide tips to perfect your throw.

More fun than I could have imagined! I went with a group for my birthday and we can’t wait to come back. Our host Page was fantastic. She helped everyone with their stance so we would throw our best.

I came here with my coworkers for a team building exercise and left wanting to bring everyone I know back to try it! The staff was extremely accommodating and patient with teaching each of us what to do. Paige even demonstrated her trick throws for us upon request! We had a great time!
