We recently visited 14 Pews to watch a show about Linda Ronstadt. We very much enjoyed the show, as well as the venue. We really appreciated the cushions on the pews ! Hopefully well get a chance to come back.
Such an intimate little spot, definitely a hidden gem for Houston. My husband and I were so lucky to attend the last showing of Everybodys Everything about Lil Peep and it was a really special experience for us. Great place, I highly recommend visiting their website to see what they have going on and go check it out!
Nice space for special run movies or small events. Bon profit. Promote local and go!There are memberships available to save some cost if your a local. If not, the prices are good & its a cool venue inside a former historic little church.
Great local venue for film events, expert curating of films and good commentary.
Really cool place. We had a private showing of a movie and it was very intimate. Perfect place for 20 or 30 people.
Nice and cozy venue. My wife and I are considering to rent it for a small wedding reception three years after the fact :), but seriously...interesting place to watch movies with lots of character
Small nice theater with very kind people that work there.
Interesting and cozy arts spot. I went to a showing supported by the ACLU. There isn’t a bad seat in this intimate space. The pews and interior are beautifully maintained. We will most definitely be keeping an eye out for more events here.
Great movie in a nice venue with even nicer people. (Amazing Grace)
I wish I had found this place sooner! It is a nice venue with friendly folks. So far, I’ve seen an amazing documentary about the Río Grande River. I throughly enjoyed the film and this place. I highly recommend if you are interested a unique experience.
Great space with interestingly curated movies. Always worth looking at the schedule because youll see things there that wont show anywhere else.
Cool theatre space tucked away in The Heights. Only off street parking. Pews for seats but some pillows provided to help your backside survive. Intimate space for a show. Worth checking out.
Excellent place to view art and music films. Staff is friendly and the viewing room cozy.
Went to an open mic event on Tuesday night and it was wonderful. Strangers came together to encourage one another to express themselves. And it ended with a marriage proposal! It was a beautiful night in a hidden gem of a place!
Cute lil place to see films.
Cozy setting for special interest film
Loving Vincent was a great movie.
Awesome hidden nugget in the heights...perfect for a small intinate wedding too
AMAZING ambience, great comfy seats and movie watching experience is great. It gives a wonderful cozy vibe. The only thing I dont like is that they have wine out even when kids are around.
This is an awesome venue for theatre, acoustic music, poetry, screenings and other small audience events. Perfect for play Oleanna presented by The Landing Theatre Company
Cressandra Thibodeaux is a genius, love everything she does at 14 pews!
Excellent film and place to watch the film.
Unique venue for indie films and documentaries, readings.
Small intimate space with 14 authentic church pews. They added cushions to make it more comfortable. Parking is on the street so go early to get close. They offer a wide variety of entertainment. Their willingness to work with gypsy theatre groups is awesome. Talent like David Raineys Landing Theatre is welcome. Their recent production adressed a socially relevant topic with amazing actors who portrayed annoying characters a bit too well. LOL. Every college professor and business supervisor should have seen this emotionally moving production.
Nice little place but pews get uncomfortable after a couple of hours.
Historic Place was a nice visit in Houston
Watched a documentary about the block chain here. perfectly nice venue, but the movie would be jarring if you didnt get a primer on the tech beforehand.
Interesting concept for film debuts.
Small but Cozy place. There is not much of parking available - its all road side parking
Its a unique place to watch a movie. The outdoor area in the back is nice. Only downside are the pews are a bit uncomfortable after sitting in them for a while and the bathrooms are separate from the main building.
My Fiancée and I’s experience with 14 Pews was unfortunately, less than acceptable. Cressandra seemed pleasant on the phone, so we scheduled a time to look at the church in person. She mentioned that an event would be occurring next week, and we were welcome to stop by a few minutes before she opened the doors and chat with her. Once we arrived, Cressandra was too busy to give us the time of day. She waved us away to chat with her mother, and couldn’t be bothered to ask our names. We hypothesize that she forgot about our scheduled tour. We had been inside 14 Pews for less than five minutes before she opened the doors to the facility and yelled to us across the church to say, “Can you leave now?” rather rudely. She very brutishly showed us the door. In an effort to give her the benefit of the doubt, I called the next day to schedule an actual sit down appointment with her before signing any church contract, but she has never responded to my call. The stress of planning a wedding is challenging enough without the poor customer service at 14 Pews.
I have seen beautiful movies and plays at 14 Pews, it is a very unique and cherished place in Houston!
Love this place because it provides good movies that you cant find & its small & cozy. The owner is really nice.
Great small art house in the Heights. Great venue and schedule.
Nice, little theater
