The venue was so much nicer than I expected! This is a great venue for new entertainers to debut their talents if they are looking to present themselves well in the professional manner. There is a nice foyer wherr a table can be placed to accept tickets right in front of the door leading into the theater room. Inside the theater is very spacious! It is also very close to some popular Houston restaurants (Taste Bar is approximately 5 minutes away). Great experience!

Love exposing my children to cultural events. More Than Christmas was phenomenal. The sound was great, the lighting was pleasant, the seating wasnt too congested. Everything was perfect!

A friend envited my girlfriend and I to a play at the Ensemble theatre. The play was great and the characters really performed there said parts to convey their performance to the audience.

The show selections are diverse. Parking was tricky but easy to access. Read the signs. I would love to go more. The last play I saw was Awesome and so Real!

Ive been attending productions at the Ensemble for years and each time Im amazed by the brilliant talent that resides within Houston!! Such a refreshing take on theatre - I love seeing people that look like me, consistently and beautifully represented on the stage!

Each time Im in Houston, I come to the legendary African American owned Ensemble Theatre for a show. Their shows are always full of vibrant energy.

Had a great time seeing More Than Christmas. Its a nice venue and theres seating outside of the main theater for intermission. They have a concession stand as well.

Really an awesome experience. There are no bad seats and the people who work there and the patrons are super welcoming and sweet. My daughter and I had an awesome time. We are now trying to enroll her into their theater class. Good job guys

The play was good, but the location did not have any working air. We had sit in the theater with no air and to make matters worse we had to pay for water which should have been free due to the conditions that we were sitting.

We had a wonderful time at The Ensemble Theater. We were greeted at the door, Everyone was so friendly. Sometimes we laughed until we almost cry. Afterward we had a chance to talk to the cast. We had a great time.

Most of the plays are entertaining and some has history included. A good place to relax and enjoy your self.

Because my sister, Sam is there along with so many other talented singers, dancers and actors! I love that the Ensemble has consistent actors casted in their shows.

Went to see Josephine and it was amazing!!! The cast was awesome and the singing was amazing. The atmosphere was nice and intimate. Theater might be small compared to most but the show was still full of power. Nothing was lacking.

Too Heavy for You Pockets ... Everything was beautiful from the gStaff to the host to the actors to the building to the clean restroom to the concession stands. Was a wonderful experience. Dress code is church attire.

We enjoyed the performance. We were waitlisted and ended up second row from the front! Nothing bad to report a wonderful way to spend Sunday afternoon. By the way if you get a chance Freeda Peoples is an excellent play.

The theater is very intimate so there arent any bad seats. The actors were great and stayed after to answer questions from some students attending.

Great place to have an event! Very spacious with a stage. Was able to have a dinner-styled graduation that for a small graduating class. They provide basic black linen but you can bring your own.

Become a subscriber and have planned date nights for the year. Row C has the best leg room on the lower level. Any seat has a great view. Very intimate theater that offers top quality entertainment.

Performances are excellent and inspire me to return. Well chosen plays that move and encourage... entertain. The most memorable were the African American Cinderella play and the soulful Christmas with the time machine and historic music. Love it!

A wonderful show for children to learn about an amazing American who made an impact on so many people during a time when raw courage would cost a black man his life for simply speaking up!

Went to the theatre for the first time. The show was incredible! Thoughtful. Great stage presence. Some distractions with a few character wardrobe but overall, talented actors and produced well. Theatre is a great location in midtown. Only issue was the audio which was poor. The production was great and it was painful to get out of a scene because of feedback.

We enjoyed the show so much was very funny we had a great time.

We saw an interpretation of _A Christmas Carol_ set in modern times with a cultural twist. It was well acted, well sung, and I really liked it.

Attended a musical production, The Soulful Sounds of Christmas, given by Black Ensemble Company. Enjoyed the show. Very talented cast, ages 10 and up. They were very lively and knew how to draw you into the story.

The Ensemble Theatre is very important asset to the arts in the city of Houston. Last night, I experienced an example of the outstanding plays that it exhibits, Soulful Sounds of Christmas. I experienced this play, one of its annual Christmas plays, with my extended family. It play to make this an annual event and would recommend others, who appreciate the arts, to see a play at and support the Ensemble Theatre.
