This is a great venue! Its easy to get to, great parking and the perfect size. What I love most is the revolving stage. BRILLIANT IDEA!!! Every guest gets an opportunity to see the performer at the same angle which makes every seat a good seat. Despite it being an older venue, its very well maintained and no matter where you sit, you dont have to walk a country mile to get to the restroom when needed. Definitely one of my favorite venues.
Its a great little venue, where all seats are good seats. I am adding a picture of the concession and beer prices at the bar. Hopefully this will help others since I know I would find it helpful. However, they get you by adding an extra dollar if you order an import beer even though they dont display this on their price boards. I dont mind the pricing, but they need to be upfront about it. This photo was taken February of 2020.
Even though this place is old and run down, its a great place to see a concert. Its a circular venue with a rotating stage, so theres not a bad seat in the house. Its a small space, so every seat is close to the stage. My only complaint is the alcohol situation. Theres a menu board with three types of wine listed. So I ordered some wine. However, they didnt actually have any wine. Apparently, that menu board has been there since the dinosaurs roamed the earth and its never been updated. So I got a margarita on the rocks instead, because they didnt have any flavored vodka.Whatever my date was drinking, they ran out of it, so he ended up with something similar (sort of) the next time he went back. So the alcohol situation is sketchy at best. With that being said, I will definitely return here for other concerts.
The 4th star is purely for how close you are to the performers. I absolutely love the intimate setting. I have been to the Arena a few times over the years and each time has been an awesome experience.Seating clarification: one of the things I was unsure about when booking was which letter is closest to the stage. The arena seating chart has both letter A and AA. AA seats are closest to the stage. Single letter alphabet seats are behind the double letters. Youre welcome! One more tip about seating, try and book your seat on the aisle where it says something like star aisle. The artists walk down this aisle to get to the stage.Keep in mind the place is really outdated. If u can get past that youll have a great time with an intimate view of your favorite artist!
Good venue for concerts and events. The revolving stage allows a good view of their performance. Sound quality could be improved.
This theater truly lived up to its reputation for not having a bad seat in the house. I was there to see stand up comedy, and had no difficulty seeing the stage. The view was great even from the bar areas which meant I didnt miss out on anything when I got up to get drinks. Because of the available legroom, be prepared to stand to let anyone walk past you to their seat.
Every seat in the arena is good. We got tickets that said row CC.... I thought CC meant the 29th row.... WE WERE IN THE THIRD ROW.... what a treat and an excellent show.
What a perfect intimate place for an evening with an artist. Moving stage and great sound. I wish there were more places like this everywhere.
Fantastic venue for amazingly close shows. Not a bad seat in this historic arena. Cant wait to continue seeing performances here. Could use an update to the restrooms, bars, and decor but the ability to feel so close to the performance is fantastic!
Like stepping back in time to 1980s Houston. Not a bad seat in the house and with the rotating stage the band will be front and center for you at some point!
When they have have a concert they have a concert! The people are always welcoming like a big family reunion! I love going and sharing these amazing moments with my future wife. Everytime we go its another beautiful moment being made! Thanks Arena
I have the best of time when I see any concert here. I saw Anuel and I loved his performance!!!
Theater in the round. Stage rotates so not really a bad seat in the house. Even a good view from the last row. Charges for parking.
Nice venue.Parking issue. One way in/out when event was over - took too long to exit.Rotating stage Clean toilets
Enjoyed seeing Shatner. Nice wholesome entertaining evening of story telling. Excellent acoustics but seats were a bit uncomfortable. No intermission didnt help. But overall a fun evening. Ingress and egress from parking needs improvement also.
It was awesome place invasores de neuvo leon
Cool Venue! Everyone working there both at the sale office when I bought tickets and working the night of the show were really nice! Not sure if something was up with the sound board at times the music drowned out the vocals. But overall I was satisfied!
Always enjoy the times I go to concerts at the Arena Theater. Prices are decent and I love the variety of performers offered.
The venue is pretty good for a concert. Not too big or small. My issues are with the dated decor and concessions. The place needs some renovations, but the seating and acoustics are solid.
Its an intimate venue but horribly concealed in a busy downtown street. Route from parking to arena is not handicap accessible
Nice small place for a great show.
Outstanding venue. Not a bad seat in the house. Bar and food are a little weak.
Nice clean place. Live music and great ENTERTAINMENT.
Always loved this venue! Seen many shows over my life of 4 decades. Every seat is close and the sound is awesome!
First time here and I was impressed! Love the rotating stage, did not lose sight of the group playing! Definitely worth it!
This place was awesome, The Whispers did not disappoint. Im in love all over again. I wish that there were venues like this in Vegas.
Nice small theatre . Love it
Musiq concert was amazing. The intimate setting made for a very Love Jones, finger snapping type of experience. The spinning stage gives everyone the opportunity to see the performer and bands at all angles. Love it!!
Every seat is a good seat and stage rotates 360 degrees.
Everytime I go to a R & B concert.it never starts on time. We sit for 2 hours listening to radio music. How could a concert scheduled for 7:30 last to 12:20. With only 2 performers. The Arena management has to do better. Time is an essence.
Excellent place to see bands! Small, cozy round theater with great views as the stage rotates.
The restrooms are not comfortable for those with walkers and the doors dont shut. You would think after all these years, they would have enough to update the restrooms. One plus is the ramps to walk down instead of steps.Starting the shows timely could also be work in progress. Not on time.Great shows
We really enjoyed this venue. It doesnt matter where you sit the view is all the same! :) makes for a great stage
They could stand some renovations but I love the round seating and parking garage is clean and cash only. Shows are usually old school R&B or Latino artists. Cool place for a night out in Southwest Houston.
Luv seeing my boys Con funk shun.in Feb 2020...then the dam Corona hit.....can we go back to 2019.
Great show, limited bar but you can bypass long entry line if you go to bar first. Good seats with turning stage. Sound & big screen could be better.
Chaka needs to come on earlier, and stay longer!! But she was GOOD her voice is still GOOD..her singers are very GOOD too!! I enjoyed..reminds me of a Frankie Beverly sing-a- long!!!
Its a cool place with the spinning stage but the drinks are too high. I ordered a Grey Goose on the rocks lite ice & that was $11 & it was no more than a shot or less
What great place to see a live band.
Every time I go to the arena I always have a good time I love all their seating is perfect will be back next time
This is an historic theater on the southwest side across from Sharpstown mall. Small intimate venue with rotating stage. There is not a bad seat in the place. Acoustics are good but overall the place is a bit dated and could use some upgrading. We saw Kirk Whalum Christmas gospel according to Jazz with Yolanda Adams here. It has been at TSU previously but this is a much better place as far as views and intimacy. Kirk Whalum never disappoints in his performances! Yolanda Adams was great too!
Terrible venue for a movie showing! The seats are so small that I couldnt even cross my legs. I am average height. If you have to get up for any reason, everyone in the entire row youre on has to stand up and walk out of the aisle for you to get out. So good luck going to the restroom at all. Also, the concession staff was talking and laughing through nearly half the movie and everyone in the audience was starting to get rather annoyed. The popcorn was cold. These tickets were not cheap at over $120 a pop. I will most likely not be back to this theater, especially for a film showing/visit with the actor afterwards. Yikes.
We love this place. It is very intimate. Every seat is great!
I attended the Ja Rule/ Ashanti concert. This was my first time here and it was a good experience. I like the rotating stage.
For being in the hood, this theatre is pretty nice. I was pretty impressed by the stage set up. The stage rotated and the theatre itself way small and quaint. I was sitting in the back yet I felt like I was up close. I was impressed by the place and will go back for a show.
1st time there and I Loved it. I heard all the seats were good seats but seeing is believing. This theatre is just small enough to not be overwhelmed by the crowd but large enough to draw a few quality artists. I will be looking out for more concerts and comedy shows in the future.
Small up close and personal, great venue!! Tracy Lawrence was awesome!!️
We had excellent seats, but the arena being in the round was a fabulous sight to see especially because we came from Wisconsin to see Chaka Khan, we were not disappointed. Chaka Khan rocked the house! What a wonderful venue!!
Any seat is good to see the band.
This smaller theatre is a very nice place where the features of the venue are built in the round with a stage at the center of the circle. The staff and the tech crew were amazing and helpful. Really this place is an A+
It was the best experience I had in a while. Just, when you leave, better wait, traffic to get out of the parking tower is slow. But it is nice.
Really like this venue. All seats are good seats. Drinks are too expensive though.
Loved the old school 80s music Stevie B
This is my favorite place for concerts, comedy shows, or performances. Any seat is a great seat, and they have several concession stands around the arena. Usually covered parking is charged around $10.
Great atmosphere! The rounded stage gives it a nice intimate atmosphere. Theres not a bad seat in the house.
Always clean. I love the fact that its not too big of a place. You get to see the artist up close.
Reviews are far too generous. Any place you have to wait 30-40 mins for hotdogs or a drink is not being run properly. The missed revenue in this aging hole is incredible.
Ive been in Houston all of my life. The Cupid and J Paul Jr concert was my first time visiting the Arena Theater. The venue is nice. I like the seating. Anywhere you sit in the arena is a decent seat. They have a revolving stage. The adult beverages are a bit pricey. Overall I enjoyed the concert.
Great venue and Kem is one of the best entertainers of this generation!
You can see your favorite artists up close love it there is not a bad seat
I love the size and layout of the arena theater. The stage rotates for most performers so you have a good view from any seat. The tickets are very affordable (Ive paid $45-100 depending on the artist). The drinks are overpriced and not great, but its not a bar. The reason I only rate them 3 stars is they often cancel show after selling tickets and they dont let you know the show is canceled.
Wonderful place to go.Clean good people working there.People very friendly.helpfull.Drinks a little high there.Eveeything else great.
It was a great experience due to the performing acta. Ive been here a few times before making this review. The seats are kinda small and I have hips and backside, once seated, its hard to get comfortable. The leg room between the seats can get uncomfortable after while. I recommend purchasing front row, aisle, and seats in the back to ensure some leg room. The potency of drinks are based on the bartender. They have lots of restrooms located throughout the arena which is a plus in my eyes. If a few more of my favorite artists come to Houston, Id pay money to come see them here again.
Great acustic at this venue and the most important thing is the rotating stage. You have great views from mostly all seats and there are bars and restrooms all around.
This is the best place to come and see a concert!! I highly recommend coming here!
I love seeing shows at the Arena theatre because its so tiny so all the seats are good seats and the tickets, even the first rows, are usually not very costly. The bar and bathroom is always a few steps away. The parking isnt hectic because of the parking garage setup, although if your not one for stairs, know that the elevator can get hot musty and a line depending on the time of arrival and departure.
The actual venue was nice. The protocol to get in was messy, unorganized, and almost made me wanna turn back... once beyond the gates, I had a decent evening mostly.2018 Brave New Voices Competition
It was a good show.Really wanted to see my Boo AVANT.
Although most shows dont start on time here its always a good experience and always affordable for great seats!
No real seats... Drinks are not worth the money... Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to park...
I love the Arena Theatre because every seat is a great seat.
I always enjoy myself when I attend the arena and being able to have front row seats are the best. The only downside is when people from the back come and stand in your way in the front so it feels like its a defeated purpose on spending so much money on front row seats when the people from the back or able to come sit in the empty seats or stand in your way to try to get a picture or them just trying to be closer to the performers! If you could fix that problem then everything will be so much better!!
Not a bad seat in the house. Staff were great!! Definately will return!!
This has always been a special concert venue in Houston Texas, with the revolving stage and up close and intimate atmosphere! My first was Jackson 5 1976/77 unbelievable !
Cool place to see a show
Fun place to be the seats were not bad. Could see the artist from row 14. They even had a place to charge my phone right were the concert was. The music was perfect and up beat. The After7 and Brandy concert was great!!! Even found a hotel with in 3 min of the arena at La quinta inn 6790 Southwest freeway. Hotel was very nice. Pleasant stay !!!
Nice concert venue. There not a bad seat in the arena, yet closer to the stage is better. Ive attended many concerts here .The staff is always friendly & fun. My last concert was Neo & Tamia.
Every seat is a good one! Easy access and parking
Had a great night celebrating the 5 yrs of Apostlic Ministry of NJG#Perfect Unity
Absolutely the best arena Ive attended. Drove from Beaumont to see Brian McKnight and Avant. Great performance from both artists. Enjoyed myself. Wonderful and much needed experience.
Great. The seats were comfortable and clean. The upgrades and remodeling is very good. They need to make more restroom stalls. Move the restrooms from the exit to prevent it from being blocked. Ways love the rotating stage and eliminate the band pit.
The concert was nice. The theater itself needs to be renovated. They had the acts dressing rooms in bathrooms right in the hallway. It was crazy. The seats also are really old and absolete. I love the intimate setting though.
Clay Walker concert waa awesome but people should sit down in the seats so others can see. I dont appreciate how my daughter was treated. Shes a type 1 diabetic and the staff wouldnt let her bring in her snacks for her falling blood sugar. Not very happy with them at all.
Awesome venue, you can see everything wherever you sit .
I had a great time playing February 22,
This is my favorite live music venue! There’s not a bad seat in the house!
Great venue for concerts.. only downside small bath rooms.
People need to be informed that standing during a whole performance is not courteous! Needs a seating plan for those that stand and those who want to sit and watch performances. Other than that, love this place. Every show I have go to here has been great! Awesome atmosphere and friendly staff!
Besides that it was an amazing concert.. I loved the place... very roomy and clean.. bathrooms very neat and staff are very friendly and ready to help.
It was an excellent performance by the Whispers singing group. Great show
The performing band was great, the lack of control over the people was extremely poor. You pay for a decent sit to be able to see and the people sitting on the last rows just stand at the very front blocking the view with nobody telling them anything, frustrating. 5 starts for the band 0 for the venue...
Dated Venue and bathrooms. The bathrooms are old and very dirty in need of a upgrade. Ladies bathroom did not have door lock and my wife had to hold the door for a person and same for her. The carpet or flooring in the venue is very sticky and old. The shows always start late. However when they do start the shows and sound system are great.
Awesome venue! Every seat is a good seat due to the rotating stage! The sound was phenomenal! Conveinient parking garage and quickly park and exit after the show!!!
