Great place to enjoy yourself, great company there its on my favorite list

We celebrated our friends birthday and the incoming new year here. We had a blast dancing the night away.

Great spot. If you are looking for a relaxed spot with nice drinks at a reasonable price and nice beat, this is for you. On Thursdays there is a more 30s aged crowed and is great for connections and mingling. Thursdays spot for sure. There is also great food served all the time so you cant go wrong at this spot. A must return for me.

I felt like I had experienced at least three different places on my single visit here. I enjoyed how the general vibe seemed to change as I moved from one section to the next. We started out with some drinks at the main bar which initially had a lounge ambiance that evolved into a club feel when more people showed up later in the night. The upstairs area was laid back with live music performances. We got another drink at the other bar, and chilled in the outdoor area for a while before heading out. This was an exciting night out.

This is a nice ducked off place downtown. Well it’s not really ducked off, but it’s small. The food was really good, and the crowd was nice too. The steak on steak night was also really good. And a good happy hour as well

Great experience...hookahs $30-40 and upstairs you can pay for a table its worth it. Drinks I had were priced from $10 to $12 and food about $10 a plate I spent a good $150 that night lots of fun. Parking garage close by and they have VIP parking right next door.

The Alley Kat has laid back atmosphere with a very cool vibe. The energy in the spot was amazing. The menu is spot on with a variety of comfort food thats delicious. The performers are top notch and really know how to put on a show. I will definitely be back to this spot.

Love the vibe and the people. Great Drinks and Great Food and if you smoke cigars there is a back area and patio for you to chill and light up your stick. The staff is awesome and the music is always on point..

Alley cat is a busy place full of people in music. You need your ID to enter. They have hookah, drinks, food, they have an upstairs where they do jazz, and poetry. The place was really packed and love DJ.

Great place. Great crowd. But I just wish. The upstairs live music area was much larger. Reggie is a damn good owner. I highly recommend. Specially if your an out of towner looking for good vibes

Quaint and unique bar lounge. The Texas Tea quenched my thirst. Had fun and would definitely recommend for a stop after work or weekend spot with a small group of friends. Located directly behind the Breakfast Klub and yes delicious favorites are available from their menu

Busy, popular spot. I was the ONLY white guy there, but I didnt feel excluded. Everyone except one bartender was really friendly. He made it obvious he didnt like white guys, but no big deal.

This is my favorite place to be Friday night. Its a very soulful, creative and beautiful vibe they have going here! Live band is always a hit. 10/10 would definitely recommend!

It was a nice place to chill..I was mostly outside because it was OVER pack and Im not being dramatic. Drinks and music were great, I didnt get to here the live band but everyone said it was amazing. They have 3 bars with one being a live band the ends at midnight.

We enjoyed it. Wish they could replace some of the couches tho to make the seating more comfortable. Good music. It gets really crowded after 9:30 and seating is scarce.

This is an amazing club venue. There were multiple rooms with different DJs, and such a cool upstairs room.Totally worth the effort. Its right next to the light rail.

Such a great atmosphere! Everyone was warm and welcoming. The bartender Michelle was so nice and took great care of us. We came to see the live performance and was blown away by the AMAZING singer. When I say this young lady can sing she just takes your breath away! The drinks A1 the food was spot on. We definitely will be coming back very soon!

3 bars indoors upstairs and downstairs. There’s a smoking outdoor area. It’s typically really hot even with the fans so dress casual and light. The service is always A1! The people are down to earth and the music is usually a vibe.

Nice, jazzy spot for hanging out. Loved the band and singer, as always. Great atmosphere. Beautiful people. DJs are pretty tight, too. Good drinks. When I am back in the Houston area, Im going back to Alley Kat.

Great vibes, chill atmosphere. Thursday is a very live crowd, Friday and Saturday is more af a date night due to the live lounge singer upstairs from 10-12am. Same ownership as The Breakfast Klub located right behind it. Open late night on weekends from 11p to 3 am...I think. Multiple bars/rooms plus a patio.

This day was amazing until a fight broke out with the bar tender and a customer. She was acting very unprofessional and unruly. Bottles and plates were thrown. Other than that drinks and food was delicious.

Poetry night on Sundays is amazing. Intimate environment, great ambiance and drinks. Well worth the visit! I will be back

Alley Kat on a Thursday is good for anyone who loves an extremely crowded atmosphere. Each room was packed wall to wall and it was extremely tough getting in and out. Definitely a fire code violation.

Interesting set up, expect to pay 10 to 20$ for parking, drinks are about 10$ each beer about 6$, stop by the breakfast club on your way out the food is awesome!

The greatest place on earth. Super dope music, great bartenders. The owner still speaks to his patrons.

The floor and stairs did not feel secure and the club is small in the inside by the bar that faces the rail. Other than that the music and drinks were great.

Unless sitting upstairs, or a reserved table in the front, seating arrangements are awkward and each bar only had 1 bartender which caused BIG jam ups and long wait times at the bar. Nice to order food, but I such just going to the restaurant since it opens late, as it is a challenge to eat peacefully at Alley Kat... Last nights DJ wasnt on his A game either, Ive heard better music played and look forward to returning for a better experience next time. SN: I think valet should be comped if you go to Alley Kat AND eat at the restaurant, otherwise, makes for a very expensive experience IJS See ya next time

We went for the live music on Saturday night the singer and band are AMAZING...The rest of the club is average. Crowded and smells of hookah not a bad place to hangout with a small group.

Visiting from Detroit: I had a great time! The layout was very unique and fun.There were multiple rooms and I heard there was a second floor never made it to it. It’s a big little hole in the wall. It was very hot inside though.

Nice quaint bar. Not for skittish liberals or yippies. Nice black bar and patrons. Outside drinking and smoking. Get there before 9pm or 9:30pm because the bars are going to be packed. Being the minority, the one of two white guys in the bar didnt bother me. I was at home. Drinks were reasonable, atmosphere was mellow.

Fun times! Me and some friends went to hear a set while the Astros were playing. Great little spot, be ware if you are wearing heels

Chill spot. Live music and a DJ . we got there around 10pm on a Friday and it wasnt as packed just yet so get there early . The crowd was mostly urban and yet a comfortable mix. The energy was good. Food was just enough but the live music was the best part. If youre bored on a friday go there .

I had an awesome time here. I enjoyed the different levels & rooms they had. I loved the barmaid upstairs she made me the stiffest double shot of whiskey..I was almost blown away. I loved the bar area down stairs near the hookah..this place is casual but lively& I valet ..who wants to search for parking when you could be inside having a ball? I wish this spot could move to Philadelphia

It was packed for a Labor Day party, special guest was Biz Markie. So it was crazy hot inside, however the side closest to Main St. was the HOTTEST. Wished the AC was a lot cooler. Also unacceptable was finding out free tap water is no longer offered. Youre forced to buy bottled water, thats the only way to quiche your thirst. Im pretty sure this is against city ordinance.

Fun. One side ratchet music. The other is more Grown & Sexy.

Not my type of place to visit. The name says it alone ALLEY. The building is literally build like an alley way. Its is extremely tight inside. Anyone can get hurt easily by a stranger or by the way the place is built/design. The jazz band that was there didnt seem too excited to be there and the audience were looking like zombies. What is Alley Kat serving in those drinks??? I went in, checked out all the little spots, then walked right out. Looks more like a haunted house than jazz or blues spot.

Great music, decent cocktails, tiny space. If you happen to go on a live music night you will NOT be disappointed!

My wife and really enjoy this spot. The poetry and music events are great. The event space needs some improvements, but suitable none the less.

Stumbled upon this place. Absolutely loved it! It reminded me of a place ib Chicago finally! Houston is pretty lame when it comes to nightlife. I live the house music upstairs especially, but I also loved the different rooms with different DJs. The alley scene is super kewl!

Se7en is the best in my poetry world. This was my first visit to Alley Kat. The poetry lounge was upstairs and HOT. Parking is challenging. Food was fresh and good. I have invited 40 guests for my Bday 05/05/19, but I am concerned that its upstairs, small up there, hot, zero mingle space and hardly any parking close by. Fingers crossed that they move the poets downstairs to accommodate the crowd, which encourages return!!!

We love the ambiance, music, and skilled bartending at Alley Kat! I always order a French 75 and they get it right (except for the lack of lemon rind presentation, but who really needs that?). The crowd is a beautiful representation of black diversity with a good mix of ages and walks of life, and the energy has always been welcoming for couples, which is what makes this place excellent for a fun date night. Not great if you are bothered by tight crowds, OR if you are VEGAN... The only item I can order safely are fries. Luckily I am aware of this and we usually eat before we go, but I think the lounge is really missing an easy opportunity to keep people engaged (i.e., drinking and eating more) by not have at least a few more plant-based options on the menu.

Great place to unwind on a Saturday night. The drinks are generously poured and the door man is very nice. Plenty of seating with an adult atmosphere.

1st impression is everlasting. I was invited to a “PRINCE PARTY” that I did not get to see or hear. It was supposed to start at 8:30 it didn’t .. I left at 9:45pm the band was sitting outside. We arrived at 8:10pmand was advised to chill at the bar downstairs . Once I get up stairs, there were no seats. Someone purchased the free seats . Go figures no seat it’s hot and more people are arriving to stand up in a bedroom sized venue.Needless to say it was out 1st and last visit there .

The upstairs live band area is HOT AND STUFFY!! The space is already limited and they have reserved seating/tables taking up the majority of the little space they have. Leaving NO room for others. They have two window AC units that barely work and the floor AC units are pointless because people stand in front of them and block the air. Also when ordering food, they bring your food uncovered through a packed club downstairs all the way upstairs though more people. DISGUSTING!! GERMS AND MORE GERMS! DO BETTER ALLEY KAT

This place definitely has an alley theme. It gets really hot because the dont have central ac but the music in each room is amazing. Listening to Jay Z greatest hits was probably the most fulfilling thing Ive ever experienced. The live music upstairs was amazing. Ive recommended this place to everyone

Great atmosphere... thursdays that play vinyl records in the back bar. And in the front bar its caribbean music... nice combo of music... the drinks are good and not to expensive...
