I remember this place a few years back and it has grown and been improved a lot. For starters, before you used to make a line to every haunted house and spent a lot of time on the lines, but now, they redesigned in a way that you can go through all the haunted houses by waiting on a single line everytime you want to go in, and that line is right below the stage where live music is played (awesome stage, sound and lights. Check video shot with my phone below). The characters are great and the service is very friendly. Also, they have carnival style games, which are fun and some of them are haunted themed. The also have food avaiable and free drinks... We had so much fun, well come back next year. Ive never been in a place like this with free beer and margaritas.

I went to this haunt the last day they were open in 2019. IT WAS AWESOME! I just have to say the same details were amazing! and the price was good for what you get, and even better unlimited times in the haunt. the only thing I have to complain about is some of the actors not even trying to actually scare us. I love this place and will definitely come back this year

Went on a whim and bought the weekend pass. For starters YES I work at another haunted house. Im a haunt enthusiast that is extremely hard to scare. They had me running and screaming in there. The actors are amazing and the scenes make you feel like you are in a horror movie. I went through three times, one by myself and it was a very immersive and terrifying experience. Thank you so much Sue and your team! I enjoyed every minute of it!

Very disappointing especially with the $120 price tag for 2 people and on top of that being served lemonade when ordered a margarita.. And the cherry on top was the owner I guess told us not to touch any of her props or we would be fined just for one of the props to purposely fall on our heads and give me a headache.. Scary...? Not at all.My response back to the owners: My review is an honest review, nothing more nothing less. We were told Do not touch any of MY props or you will be fined up to $500 by the woman that gave the talk before entering the 1 and ONLY haunted house (There is NOT 7 as spoken of) She said it with ownership just for a prop to hit me in the head. So, I decided to tell my opinion on my experience. Dont be upset with a customer that put $120 in your pocket (2 people) You could instead take it as constructive criticism and go over & fix the issues with your workers.

Upon looking at the reviews, I was quite taken aback by the owners extremely rude and unnecessary responses to genuine reviews. The owners responses were so off-putting that I decided I no longer want to go. I drove from DFW, specifically for the Scream Fest. I planned on possibly getting the weekend pass. I added a few museum visits to my weekend trip to Houston and planned on heading to the fest afterwards. Im so disgusted that I am headed back to DFW without going to the fest (the main purpose of my trip). It should be interesting to see how the owner responds to my review....

The big question concerning haunts: Is it worth the money? The answer is yes for Scream Fest because its not just a haunt, but a festival too. Even if the haunt sucked (which it doesnt), there is paintball, free beer, carny games, and live music. The haunt itself is gigantic...it takes about 15 mins to get through, which is longer than any Ive been to. Watch out for La Llorona!

Sh
Review №38

The price was fine because there were free drinks. They say there were several attractions but we walked into one haunted house and 20 minutes later we were done with the entire thing. There was a festival atmosphere, which was nice. For a group of friends that search for the best haunted houses every year, it just wasn’t one of those that we enjoyed. The first room was ok, but after that it felt like you just walk and people are screaming at you. Not scary, and extremely too many chainsaws at the end. After the first or second chainsaw, it was just irrelevant. I would recommend this for a family wanting to take their young child to their first haunted house. Not for a group of adults looking for the scariest haunted house in Houston.

My friends and I just got home from here and it was a great experience:) All the actors did great and the people were nice. Yes this is ONE house and not multiple butttttt on the posetive side, at least you have a longer time in the hanunted house unless you want out half way through. The price is a bit high($40) BUT the actors are very good and you have to consider theyre standing up, walking around, screaming or something for hours and you get free drinks so In the end your helping these actors get paid and make up for the drinks. A suggestion would be to maybe put neon arrows that point the direction people should go because i did find myself struggling and going into the actors hiding places(SORRY) also, I would like to speak to the manager and thank him/her for this amazing haunted house experience

Review №49

I had really high hopes for this place and truly wanted to believe that it would’ve been worth it, especially for $40, as a college student, that’s a lot of money. Entrance was smooth enough however, the experience as a whole was just atrocious. They really reeled us in with the “All drinks are free!” ad when they truly mean just soft drinks and 2 things of beer to choose from (Bud light, Michelob Ultra). Also, when they mentioned “haunted houses”, they truly mean just one haunted house that’s all connected and not much else is included with your ticket either. Everything is an additional $3-$5 extra, even the things they said would be “part of your admission” like the Zombie Hunt and Paintball. The “live band” was on something else. I understand it’s Halloween themed and all but I’m pretty sure they were trying to wake the dead or something because their lyrics comprised of just straight up screaming than anything else really. Like wow. I love hearing uvulas explode in my eardrums. My group was so disappointed, we honestly just ended up going to Applebee’s an hour after we had gotten there and had a better time there. RIP the $40 my group spent individually. The one star is for the Groot looking dude, he was chill and made us laugh.Get better drinks or lower the prices because that was not worth $40 at all. THATS A TEXTBOOK TO SOME PEOPLE.

Did not live up to the expectations of the previous reviews. Several parts of the haunted house were empty without any actors/actresses. When there was actors/actresses they were just constantly screaming in a corner or on a bed. So you knew they were there when you walked around the corner. The chainsaw massacre part was just a bunch of men holding chainsaws around every corner, and to try and scare you they would just make the chainsaw louder. Not much of a scary haunted house.

My family and I visited Houston scream fest for the very first time this past Saturday. The haunted house was ok but instead of all the haunted houses they have listed, it was actually 1 haunted house with multiple rooms. Just like any haunted house has multiple rooms. Only on their website Houston scream fest has each room listed as a separate haunted house. Unfortunately that just wasnt the case.I also tried playing the games. The game where you shoot the zombies was fun but you were required to wear these goggles that were impossible to see through and there were literally only 2 zombies that came out of the same place each time. There were definitely not any popular childrens characters like listed on their website. Dont get me wrong, most of the the games were a ton of fun and I really loved that they were Halloween oriented. However, there was one main thing that really upset me about the games. I was extremely disappointed and angry!! Let me explain. Each game has these huge stuffed animals hanging from the top of the game tent just like at any fair or amusement park. You walk up to each game and it says what you need to do to win a small, medium, or large prize. Well, my daughter played a game and she won a large prize. She was so excited until they hand her this tiny toy the size of my hand!! I asked the man about the prizes hanging up top and he said that they werent there for people to win! Thankfully he was honest with me seeing how confused I was and he explained that the very large stuffed toys were only there to try to get people to play the games!!!! I couldnt believe it! I had a great time besides that but I will never return just because of principle alone. I will not go somewhere where they try to scam me and everyone else out of our hard earned money. If you do decide to visit this place just know that none of the games have decent prizes so dont waste your time or money.

Being an Experienced haunted house enthusiast (and working at them for 4 years) I have a certain expectation when going to haunted houses. I went the Houston scream fest this weekend and was sold by the website. They even included the prices of every haunted house in house with what was offered at the location just to show they were the “best”. Lots of different stuff was included in the website that made me excited. With it being a “fest” I was expecting something like the rodeo or renaissance festival. When I arrived it was the same size if not smaller than other haunted houses in Houston but it did have the normal Carnival game scams. Even a very deceiving man with a floating ball board game type thing (don’t play it the statistics are so bad and you’ll lose a lot of money. Don’t ask me how) The Roamers aka the people in costume walking around, were very unclimatic. Literally just walking around in costume not really interacting with the crowd. It was very basic costumes that didn’t take much time at all to get into (expensive Halloween store slip on type) after walking around for a while I decided to get in line. I had about 50 or so people in front of me so the line looked pretty short but omg the line took sooo long. The haunted houses I worked at were really good about making big groups and keeping a constant flow of people but they just took their time on letting people go in that it took forever. They did a movie playing while I was there but you could barely see it and hear it but I’ve heard they also have live bands playing as well just not the night I was there so that’s pretty cool. Once I got in the house I didn’t know what to expect with there being no theme of the house but I was greeted in the first few room by actual children in very basic costume. I think it’s cool to incorporate young children in a haunted house but it’s not very professional when they’re just wearing normal clothes with some blood on their face. After that we continued about the house I noticed a lack of actors. Lots of long hallways and room with no one trying to scare me. I was taunting them in my haunted house voice I used and they never entertained me. One of my pet peeves is just people jumping and yelling or screaming. No acting involved. I would crawl on floor, throw myself into walls etc. and use dialogue and actually try to scare people not just hop out at them. At the end there were about 5-6 chainsaws and the people would just leave them running until a crowd walked up so you’d be expecting it and see it laying on the floor running knowing someone was right there. The house took about 15 minutes to walk through and I really took my time when going to take it all in. After I finished I tried to make the best of it but other than getting scammed there’s really nothing better to do. They have paintball but you have to pay extra to do any of it. Idk if I was just expecting too much or if I’m a tough critic actually having acting experience inside a haunted house but I was overall unimpressed and wouldn’t come back again. It’s the most expensive haunted house around and price doesn’t mean anything. If you want my opinion on the best haunted house I’ve always stood by Phobia. The actors actually want to scare you and they take it seriously. They’re big on dialogue and NOT being pirates (just yelling and screaming at people to scare them). I’m not affiliated with any haunted house so don’t think this is a biased review it’s just my personal experience.

$40 per person entrance fee. A 2 hour wait to get into the haunted house. The haunted house was well built and the people working seemed genuinely creepy, but it felt really short staffed. There were a large amount of places that should have had something but was completely vacant. The experience was completely ruined by the band (TRB/The radio broadcast). Seriously, take 5 minutes to find some of their music, and youll be scratching your head wondering who green lit these people to play at a Halloween festival. Any fear or anxiety you might have had going into the haunted house is completely washed away by the techno music being puked all over the crowd. The funniest part of the whole night was that Phobia bought the billboard to advertise right about the venue, taunting you for wasting your money at Scream Fest. One star for the entrance and house. The horror house is one large horror house with 10 different themes. At $40 a person it is not worth it, however, during ladies night my wife was free and $40 for both of us was perfect. Some of the themed areas were well thought out and I was scared on more then a few occasions. But other areas had no people or were so muddy that trying not to fall was more concerning that being scared. The zombie paintball was sad. The psi on the markers was so low that no paint broke. And the zombies mostly just sat there. Only one tried to make it interesting but moving forward until shot, then he would move back. But for 100 shots for $5 I would rather just take the paint home and use it myself. Also, if you do go, plan to go early. Since all the horror houses are linked there is only one line and that line can take a an hour to go through.

For $40/ticket its decent but could be better. The admission covers free fountain drink beverages and free beer (21+; ID validation upon buying admissions ticket). Has a few carnival games and live local music great for younger audiences (teens and families). This wasnt as advertised this is ONLY a haunted house attraction not haunted houses. The entirety of everything was relatively small you can play all the games ($3/each) in less then 30minutes; the haunted house was a good 2hours at most (including waiting in line). WARNING: The chainsaw runners will chase you despite no running rule. I hope management willn talk to them especially because they kept putting their chainsaws too close. It was very uncomfortable when a running chainsaw (chainned or not) burns your skin because its that close for the heat coming off. My Husband had to push a couple of these employees off (of myself) a few times as result of them being too close.

It was funny because they had two brothers already being watched. My daughter was able to calmly tell me she was ready to leave with no tears. Impressive for a 5 year old.
