The same mother and daughter have owned this gallery for over 20 years. They promote local artisans and do not take a huge cut in order to remain successful. This is a wonderful gallery to support. There is an assortment of wooden items, prints, pottery, and canvas.

Customer service was excellent! I was browsing with my cousin and she was looking for a print from a specific artist. The customer service representative not only brought out armloads of prints from the back, but she also called the sister gallery in Waikiki to see if they had what my cousin was looking for.

Mostly the same type of populist Hawaiian art as found anywhere in the islands, plus a few nicer pieces to make it worth an occasional visit.

The owners of this gallery are horrible, strange and are very demeaning and rude to their staff and artists. I cannot believe they are still in business. There are many other art galleries in Honolulu that have a more unique taste in art for more reasonable prices, and they treat their artisans and staff better. If I could give this gallery a 0 rating I would. Go somewhere else to buy a unique gift than Nohea Gallery. One where the owners know how to treat people with decency.

I should have written this years ago, but as I look around my home and see the meaningful things Ive gotten at Nohea Gallery over the years it makes me realize how much I value this unique place. Im an artist (glass & mixed media) and a former sales staff member so I was blessed to see the sincere dedication and love for local art and artisans that Laurie and Gail have. I loved working for them and I loved the enthusiasm they had for my glass work. In 35 of being a practicing artist Ive learned Laurie and Gail are unique, true artist advocates. I have since moved to San Francisco but return to Oahu every year and always make sure to stop in their shops to connect with friends and add to my collection of local art.

We live in Honolulu, and Nohea Gallery is a one-of-a-kind gallery filled with unique items created by local artists. Its my go-to store for gift shopping for my wife, I always find something special.The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful and frequently tells me something interesting about the artists. I like that!

Discovering the wide variety of reasonably priced local art and gifts was a great experience for me. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly embodying the true spirit of aloha. Look forward to exploring their new shop in Kahala Mall in May.

Not only does Nohea Gallery have a beautiful selection of local art, from turned wood to paintings, owners Laurie and Gail have shown immense commitment to sharing artists work while building relationships with them and customers. Nohea Gallery is an excellent place to find gifts that are works of art with sales staff who are happy to work with your needs.

I dont own many things but one of my few possessions is an incredibly beautiful wooden box from here that I keep to store my keys and little things like that.

Just left this beautiful gallery a happy shopper! Purchased multiple items to take home to family members from our trip to Hawaii. Had a hard time finding a place that was a local shop selling quality Hawaiian made items, but this place a jackpot!

The salespeople there were so helpful. I had to ship the items I bought and didnt want them to get to me before I got home. No problem! The held them until I could get back - really personal attention.

Above and Beyond!I wandered into this gallery on my last day in Honolulu in hopes of finding a perfect Christmas gift for my niece. Not only did I receive exceptional service with recommendations for what I was looking for, but they continued with unheard of service after I returned to the main land and reached out for some background on the artist of the item I bought. I cannot sing their praises enough!
