Amazing place to hike and catch some great scenery. The ruins are fun to explore and learn its history. You cant just drive to the ruins so be prepared to walk, and its some unlevel ground so be careful. Otherwise, certainly a place to visit.

My family and I love to explore the many trails available here. Trails are a variety of short, long and varying difficulty. You could spend an hour or a day. If you dont want to hike, there are ample spots to park and see the valley or watch the sun set.

Mount Tom State Reservation is one of my favorite places to go hiking, enjoy the scenery and relax on top of the mountain cliffs looking over beautiful Easthampton Massachusetts.if you ever get a chance to watch the sunset from the cliffs, I guarantee you will be coming back . Even though I was in the clouds today it was still beautiful. With a vast range of trails from challenging too easy you can have an adventure with the whole family, friends or if you just want to go for a nice little hike in the woods.the reservation also has an amazing Park and playground that my son loves to play on as well as a pavilion for parties.there are many different places you can visit in the reservation including the Erie ruins and the watch tower.I would encourage everybody to get outside and go visit Mount Tom State Reservation! the place is pretty awesome! and Hiking is good for your health ! get outside!!!

A very nice state park. Many well-marked trails as well as roads to walk on. If you drive to the top you can have a flat walk on a road. Picnic areas and kid play structures at the top. You can download a good trail map by Googling the name. Fabulous views of Easthampton. Legend has it that the view of Easthampton from this park was inspiration for Dr. Seuss Whoville. If you walk to Mt. Nonotuck you get a good view of the Connecticut River Valley.

Mt Tom is a local favorite. Parking is free the grounds are well kept and theres lots to take in. Picnic grounds, restrooms/porta potties, tons of trails, and a lookout tower. You can drive up the mountain and take your children to a lovely playscape. The eyrie House ruins are super interesting and not too difficult to get to. Great for a relaxing hike, family outing, or convincing someone on tinder youre really into outdoors!

To enter you could park your car outside and walk in or pay $5 to park in ($5 for MA licenced cars). No mountain bikes or skateboards allowed here, there is a public restroom, several benches to sit down, several public grills, and a small playground for kids. Be sure to bring long cloths or better yet mosquito spray. I had entered for only a few minutes and already I was bit at least 3 times.

Perfect little backyard hike. Trailhead to summit in as little as 30 minutes. Different trails for different ability levels. Ridge trail is one continuous vista. Always a good chance to see some paratliders too. If youre feeling adventurous ditch the trail and look for one of the geocaches that are floating around.

New the area and have now hiked this park almost exclusively since moving. Several interesting trails to make nice long loop hikes with, all shaded. I also love that no matter the day, once I get a quarter of a mile from the parking lot, or summit, I wont see a soul almost the entire hike. I like knowing that the park is full, and yet I dont have to see any one.

Not always so clear which roads are open at what times. Otherwise, trails are nice and clear, the views are nice, and the walking isnt terribly strenuous. The ruins at the top offer a bit of shade and good views with a fun backstory. Bring your own water and waste bags as theres no water taps or waste bins along the trail. Small playground area near the information building. I only docked a * because one or more of the access roads close by 6pm or close before entering the park. Go early to park as close as you can to the Eyrie House ruins, they are a bit of a hike. Great variety of birds. Lots of rhododendrons, so it must be spectacular when theyre in bloom or when the trees turn in autum.

Ma

Many great trails and amazing views. The viewing platforms are awesome too. Theres hardcore hiking trails available but also simple easy forest trail walks one could follow with family. Some views are accesable by car too. Theres some fields and a pkayscape too. Truly unfortunate they got rid of the ski mountain here many years ago :(

Theres a pond with picnic areas on the lower level of the park, and a playground and nature education station on the top level. There are porta potties and a water fountain. The hike along the ridge is beautiful. My nephew and I hiked at Mt. Tom approximately 3 weeks ago. There are many trails you can hike from easy to difficult. We took a trail that gave us a run for our money lol. We initially started walking on flat ground to walking on a very steep trail....approximately 40 incline. We walked up this incline for approximately 25 minutes. You talk about buns of steel lol. When we got to the top, there was an observation tower to greet us. When we got to the top of the tower we viewed the fall foliage. New England is heaven on earth. What I really love about hiking is the amazing people you meet on the trail as well. I love hiking. Its in my blood.
