One of the best spots to take the pup for a walk or run! There are miles of trails, both paved and unpaved, and some beautiful views. Dogs are allowed off leash on odd calendar days (every other day) which is awesome!
Loved all the different trail options. Some are paved and others are through the woods. Some trails boarder the ocean. There were a lot of people here, so I made sure to wear a mask whenever passing others because Im a medical professional. Came across some artwork in the woods. I thought there would be an entry fee, but there wasnt & theres also a large parking area.
Great place to walk around. They even have a cool little museum showcasing some of the things find at the ammunition depot that used to be on the grounds.
Great place to walk, especially with dogs. The scenery here is beautiful and the paths are well maintained. Dogs do need to be leashed he everyday, I believe. There is a rocky beach that dogs (or humans!) can swim at. There are also places for boats to anchor off of that beach and there are often boaters there! The only reason it is not 5/5 is because the is a large homeless population here and some people have been known to kill others in the park.
Beautiful area for exercise or just walkkng the dog. Lots of biking. must be leashed on all even calendar days/ off leash on odd days with town permit.
Beautiful views, well kept, and a few paths to take, dog friendly.
This is the home of the Bare Cove Fire Museum.Come to the Museum and have a fun time while learning a little about firefighting in the great town of Hingham, MA. Bring the little ones too, theyll have a great time.
Great for walks. Paved trails mostly, easy.
This park is a beautiful place to take your pets/kids. The natural beauty of it and the many pathways allow for a different experience each time. I spend hours just exploring. There are so many hidden gems to find in this park and I would highly recommend it.
I love Bare Cove Park. My pups and I have been going for years and its always a good time. Just remember to bring the bug spray.
Absolutely beautiful place its Woods its water its Marsh its open space its filled its path is well-maintained. A little flower garden absolutely beautiful
Decent place for a walk - pretty buggy though.
Excellent place for a dog walk on a hot sunny day, lots of shaded trails for the pup!
Bare cove is such a great place, it has a really even walking path that it paved. There is beautiful trees, you can see the marsh and walk all the way to the water or you can take another path and walk amongst the beautiful tree lined path. You can bring your dog, your baby or even your grandparents. Walk as little or as far as you like. It is beautiful all year long, there is a big world flower garden when you walk in during the spring/summer and in the fall all the foliage is beautiful.
Great park. Good place to walk, ride bicycles, and/or walk dogs. It used to be a military installation, so there is a lot of old abandoned (and empty) buildings around. There is also a small beach there. Great for looking at, but not really made for human swimming (dogs seem to like it).
A great place for a walk, jog or a day with the dog. They do offer off leash dog walking every other day, although dogs are welcome everyday. A former military base, that has both paved routes and some unpaved trails. Lots of miles to walk if would want to take the extended routes and even a waterfront walk. Just a great place!
Great place to bring the kids and the dog!
Very good to ride your bike or walking!!
A spacious park with next to no elevation gain, so perfect for those with aching knees! The paved paths are wide, with numerous unpaved offshoots for those feeling a bit more adventurous. Explore the marshlands, or take in the open cove. Parking can get a bit sparse on the weekends, but people leave fairly frequently.
Cool place to walk around
Very nice place to go for a walk. Wide paved trails, and its very flat.
I did not see any bares. My husband and I were looking for the entire day and saw nothing but squirrels and no bares. I am not sure who to complain to since there was NO customer service desk. Very rude of a park to not have a manager on duty. There were good trees though.
Great place on a call day
Lively walk in nature by the sea
Great place local place. Many doggos
Great for hiking and walking your dog. Beautiful water photos.
Great for walking a dog.
Fun place to walk and see some nicer views
Surprising hidden gem. Bring your bikes, its a great place to ride.
Great location to take young children to ride their bikes. Make sure to bring the bug spray! Great location to walk dogs, most people do leash their dogs which is great and most people are friendly. Very pretty place to go!
Great for walking and biking! Also, when open, be sure to check out the Green Dock House Museum for WWI & WWII Memorabilia - its free!
Good for younger kids to ride bikes, possibly the best place in the area for that, thats why Ive rated it 4 stars. Views are okay in some spots, but as far as natural beauty goes Id say its average. It was a lot more interesting in the past. Everyone is complaining about the leash laws, but I just want the dangerous and awesome abandoned buildings and bunkers back. Im not too excited about how sanitized the place has become, although I recognize that it was inevitable.
Caring staff that can treat all animal needs, young and old.
Love to ride our bike in that location.
Lovely place to hike and explore
Best place in the world. To your discretion. Beware of the river and Marsh area with your small and smaller dogs, there is a lot of Fisher cats and they will not stop trying to get your dog even with u there. Just be careful! The fisher cat is known to take down deer, think of what it would do to your dog.
I havent gotten to explore much of the park yet, but I really appreciate that it is baby stroller friendly!
Could use more trail guides. Because its so big.
Parking is good. Nice walking trails
A beautiful place with scenic views of salt marshes along paths. Every time of year is nice and there is much wildlife to see.
Great place to bike ride. Large paths. Plenty of room for walkers and bike riders. Nice scenery.
Great fall weather for a walk and some pictures with perfect autumn colors.
Pretty upset with myself for not discovering this place sooner. What an absolutely lovely park in our community. Im more used to rough, woodsy trails but the paved paths here make it the perfect park for families with strollers or for anyone in a wheelchair. There are some very cool spots off the beaten paths and the history of the property makes it even more special. We cant wait to come back and have a picnic dinner as the weather gets nicer.
Fine for quiet hiking. Not a huge number of visitors. For biking the park is too small unless you are just taking little children but overall a nice location.
Great walk, easy trails and there us a paved road.Beautiful October day, walking the dog,we brought a picnic lunch with us,and yes the dog had some water and lunch too.theres benches scattered thru out the park.plenty of parking.we did 3miles.
Most Amazing place! Great for walking / jogging, tons of dogs. Please keep aggressive dogs leashed!
Had a great peaceful walk with my dog who is afraid of everything, she liked walking in the water!
This park is a great place to bring your dog for a stroll or walk with friends or to have some alone time. Bare Cove also has a historic museum about the area and what it was originally used for. Very informative!
Peaceful safe place to walk, run, or bike.
Very nice place
Beautiful Area of Critical Environmental Concern. Now that the 26,000 unleashed dogs are no longer coming in, thanks to the vigilance and commitment of the Bare Cove Park Committee in the last six years, the park is wonderful. Now you can see all kinds of wildlife, warblers, butterflies, skippers, and wildflowers in the meadows, which serve as nectar sources for pollinators. Good work, BCP Committee!
Went to a marathon hosted at Bear Cove. It was well runned. Plenty of facilities, parking went smoothly, staff were friendly and helpful. It was a great albeit cold race day!!! Congrats to all who qualified for the BOSTON marathon!!!
Nice dogs, nice people, great place to bring your dog to play and for a nice long walk
Great place to go for a walk
Great place to clear your mind.
Nice place for a walk, Pretty sights along salt marsh.
Very pretty. Lots of nice trails.
Very easy walking paths. Mostly paved with little offshoots here and there. Follows the river. A little crowded but this was the weekend. Great place to just enjoy being outside. Pet friendly too.
Good place to walk.
Great Park for a walk to take the dog and relax. Would be 5 stars if you could have the dog off leash every day!
Dogs off the leash on odd days makes the hike easier and more fun
Bare Cove Park is a really nice setting to take a stroll, take the kids or walk the dog. Be sure to bring a leash! Bare Cove Park also rests next to the Back River a tidal river that has some nice water views and wild life.
Lovely walk around cove..picturesque
You have to have a baby or a dog to come here! One pleasant retiree walking his Golden Retriever warned me. This park has miles of paved trails that are great for walking a stroller around, biking, or even just walking. They border the Back River, and you can enjoy beautiful views and wildlife on your walk. The park used to have no leash requirement, which was good and bad for non-dog owners, since you always get a few bad apples with out of control mutts running loose. However, due to those apples, the park now requires dogs to be leashed. Much of the trails are shaded, making it the perfect place for a sunny day. Theres also a picnic area with tables and benches down along with historical plaques. There are no bathroom facilities or port-a-potties along the trail, however.
Nice area to bicycle or walk with views of the water.
I walk there with the dog daily, great views.
Excellent place to bring a dog for an off leash walk. The visitors are generally kind, most people pick up after themselves, and the park rangers politely enforce the rules but are pretty reasonable.
Ran a marathon here. One section of road was very bumpy. Otherwise a pretty spot
Good place for walking. Shouldnt have passed that law that requires dogs on leashes. Good for kids to ride bikes.
Lovely scenery, WW2 Memorial.
Beautiful and fun
Nice views
Great park to go and walk your dog, beautiful scenery.
Great place for a walk. Water views and woods on the same walk, awesome for walking your dog but dogs must be on leash.
Nice ocean views, nice wide paved trails, wide-open spaces. Great for strollers, groups, and leashed dogs. Kind of boring but pretty.
Great place to walk your dog(s). Every other day you can let them go off leash you have registered with Hingham.
Fun
Pleasant walking trails, great views
Kind of boring as far as wooded parks go. Not much terrain. Lots of new growth forest. Nice to be by the water, but otherwise not much to write home about.
Good for walking
No playground. just flowers and trees
Been going here for 27 years, I wish they still had the green tower. I love this place good memories.
Awesome place..great time for all ages...
Great train show today and again tomorrow. Come on down
