I had my daughters sweet 16 birthday party on Saturday. Nice size room, very great price. You could not hang anything on the walls and they dont have an oven. Other than that we had a ball and we really enjoyed ourselves.

Ive been going to Allen Jay Park since 88 - Its always been a great park for family and friends

The do anyway w the park so how can you say its a park when it nothing therefore kids to play on

Took my kids to Allen Jay for a nice afternoon at the park. Me and the kids run around and act silly for awhile then proceed to the playground just to find a couple out there helping each other to shoot up. I said something to them about this being an area where children play and they promptly left, but thats not really the issue. Anyway after they left my kids started to play. While they were playing I was just kinda walking around watching them and I saw probably half a dozen needles laying around the playground. Needless to say I took my kids to another park. I guess we wont be making another trip to AJ anytime soon.

The rec center has plenty of activities like Jiu-Jitsu and basketball and theyve got nice little part for those who wish to have the kids run around the tracks not bad either

The play ground has nothing for smallchildren to play on. Behind the school the play ground equipment is for older children. What happened to the play ground equipment by the picnic area. Nothing for 2 year olds to do. The way the play ground is arranged it is definitely not child friendly.

Payed to have a birthday party their and the bathrooms was locked the whole day over half my guest left because of it.

My husband and I went to AJHS and lived in the neighborhood when we were going to the school. We dated when we were young for about a year. The 2 houses pictured are the houses we lived in. Some of my fondest memories in life were of the school, the neighborhood and the park. We actually spent most of our time outside in those days. My husband and I reunited in 2015 and were married in 2016...40 years later! I ride through the old neighborhood now and then and just reminisce about those days. I think we would both move back to the neighborhood if we could. Everyone knew everyone and there were so many teenagers in the neighborhood at that time. I hope the kids growing up there now will have the same fond memories that we do. The only 2 things that I wish that would have never changed is 1) my husband and I should have stayed together and 2) they should have left the high school there. 1979 was the last graduating class of AJHS. ️

Unless you want to picnic, play basketball or attend a kids baseball game, this place is no longer the park it use to be. All of the childrens playground equipment has been removed. I suggest driving to Archdales Creekside Park & have fun over there.
