Outstanding historical memorabilias. Museum displays are superbly presented with the added touch in some instances of virtual presentations. All military branches are represented with highlights of members from the local and surrounding areas. Rich source for significant historical information. Buffalo Soldiers display is awesome. Should be on the must see places to visit.

Walking through the doors, I was enveloped by history. The USO building was originally used in World War II for African American military men and women. There were replicas of the original furniture placed around the lobby and 40s music piped in. I felt like had stepped back in time. Each exhibit had several short videos to watch about historic figures, were filled with artifacts and haf some pretty cool displays. Check it out!

This museum is an original USO that opened in 1942 for African soldiers during military segregation. It is a wonderful place to learn about past heroes and those who gave the ultimate sacrifice during wars. In addition, highlights the many Hattiesburg and Mississippi locals that served in Armed Forces. The staff are very knowledgeable, professional and simply kind! Ensure you come by when its Storytime with a Soldier,A Must see and Visit road trip!

Im glad this museum exists, especially in Hattiesburg, which has badly segregated neighborhoods. The building is neat, the staff is friendly, and the tour is free! Audio/video options are also incorporated.I do think the exhibits should be more straightforward about the struggles African American troops faced. One small panel describes a couple of veterans and their wives who were pulled from a car and shot by whites, but mostly the museum focuses on integration and speaks of racism in overly polite, generic terms.
