Iconic spot for live music in Hartford. It is an intimate venue that has been offering the solid shows with local and global talet with all in between. My most recent visit was Redman and Method man and all the groups slayed. The bar situation could be improved. The staff is absolutely helpful. Nice time out.
The underground is so much fun. Really intimate setting - really small, like one of the smaller venues Ive been to, but if youre genuinely excited about the band playing it makes it all the more enjoyable. Relatively easy to get to as well if youre coming from far away. Never been to the theater so I cant speak to the quality of that side of the building, but the underground is lots of fun :)
The sound here is good, the crowd is engaging. I think the venue gets a notorious reputation more for things it hasnt actually done than otherwise. I had a good time here and I dont see why anyone else wouldnt either!
Place is old and rundown and smells lik mold lol but they still occasionally hold good concerts.
Ive gone here, to the Webster Underground. to see local bands perform. It is a very small place, which is good for a band that is newer and doesnt have a large following because they are just starting out.
Downstairs from the larger theatre, the underground is a neighborhood gem with a capacity of roughly 400 and a full bar. We drove 2 hrs. from New Hampshire to see Born of Osiris on a Sunday night. It was well worth the trip. 5 dollar parking and no line at the door. The staff was friendly as well. Ill be back Hartford next time there is some good metal coming to town!
Went to see Steel Panther 7/27/19$20 for parking in the main lotSeemed extraordinarily hot insideSound was adequatePanther had mic problems and only played for an hour (over at 10:38)...not sure if they cut it short or if thats normal curfew for the venue.Overall if there arent any better stops on the tour then this is adequate but thats about it.
This joint is rough. Badly needs some kind of upgrade, or just a good cleaning. The urinal literally held together with tape. The Underground is small and laid out oddly. The sound isnt awful, but it is limiting, so bands will not have the full, rich, sound youre used to. Reminds me of a bunch of holes in the wall I visited as a teenager, but those all closed. For good reason.
Opening up the Underground really improved the sound! Great place to see a show!
Blue October played here and it had to be the best concert Ive seen. Venue was standing room only which made it even better, no matter where you are, the stage was within 10 feet!! Amazing!!!!
Youve seen me way too many times and stop me to see my Id everytime just to enter the bar area gets real old real quick. Mens bathroom could be more operational as well...
Good time every time I go. Most often, theres moshing! Yay!
Most of the staff were very good the show is nice a thoroughly enjoyed it. But the parking attendant leaves a lot to be desired. Told me that I was not allowed to park in the lot that I was to park in the road Even after I insisted I preferred to park in the lot he would not allow it yelled at me chasing me down The sidewalk
Solid security, reasonably priced beverages, friendly staff. Not great aesthetically and not the ideal location, but you could do much worse
Awesome concert and the employee treat customers super well love how they hype the events up...pretty cool..also a safe theater good security workers
Great venue. Wonderful nice staff. Small enough that it is a very personal experience to see a show there. Neighborhood is shaky, but everything else is just fantastic (eat before you go). Highly recommended!!!!
The no re-entry policy is ridiculous... we went in to see what bands were playing before the main band. The intent was to go have dinner and then come back in... however we were told we would need to purchase a new ticket...In top of it the food sucks... frozen pizza old popcorn hot dogs or pretzel were the choicesThe venue is just ok have been in better Ones
Went to go see Dax here and it was an amazing experience. Will be returning.
Awesome atmosphere. Meeting people is easy. And you get to walk into some of your favorite artists
Looks can definitely be deceiving for someone who’s never been here, lol. Arrived early so I knew where it was before getting food before the show to see Blue October 10/30/19. I though we were at the wrong place at first because during the day, and not being familiar with the place, I honestly thought it was an abandoned building from the outside. But we came back around when the doors were opening and there were a lot of people. Inside was big enough for a large crowd, but small enough to make it a more memorable experience. And the sound in the building was awesome. Overall a great experience and would come here again. I traveled 3 1/2 from VT for the show, it was worth it.
Small intimate venue. Parking is $20 or come early for free on street parking spot.
Female bartender stole my tip. Went there recently for a show bought a drink. Bartender asked if I wanted to tip, I told her $1. Checked my bank statement later that night and she took a $5 instead of the $1 I agreed upon. PAY CASH
Never been until i went and ended up seeing All that Remains for free. Place is pretty open to keep injuries down. Also place was well secured with police during the show so I knew I was fairly safe.
The sound isnt the best, but it gets the job done. The staff here are always professional and friendly. From the door staff to bartenders, to security at the floor and stage -- I was very impressed with the professionalism. They try to be fair, even to people that are out of control. I saw the manager running around checking on his staff as well. Keep up the good work.
Just saw August Burns Red last night, my first time visiting Webster Theater. Cool venue and friendly staff. The venue is a little small and the sound is not the best. I would go back though!
Small venue which was good due to closness of the bands, beer was good. Acoustics were pretty good as well. I would go back for sure to see other bands
Saw Sonata Arctica here and got as close to the stage as Ive ever been at any show. Definitely will never forget this night
Concert was awesome but could have been even better but with a full house maybe u should have the ac working or more fans. It was so hot in there ita surprising no one past out. Then with the 2 bars open they only had 2 servers at on one side and 1 server on the other and u couldnt figure out where the lines were. So disorganized
Great spot for concerts. Venue is on the smaller side so it feels more personal. It also has good acoustics.
Saw Tech Ni9e fr o m strange music. Awesome concert.
Great place to see hip hop shows. Especially if you are not into them bougie/uppity places
Ive been attending shows for 20 years there now and still love this place. Saw Machine Heads last tour there recently. Loved it. Thanks again. Webster Theater.
Great experience nothing like walking through the door with a big bag of marijuana
Amazing venue. Classic as it gets!
No re-entry policy and the food sucks, so make sure to eat before going in or will need to buy another ticket. The beer selection sucks as well.Venue is mehh..
Not a bad seat in the house, great staff
Nekrogoblikon was awesome. Would have been better on the larger stage. Also cant see the stage from the bar. Still good all about the music anyway.
Personally I love the Webster. Very small occupancy so every show feels personal. The building needs to be updated, but it gives you that small local theatre experience
They have some good shows, but the parking is awful. Get there early.if you dont want to park on the street and walk.
If you dont want to park on seedy neighborhood roads, bring 20 bucks in CASH for lot parking. The venue is nothing spectacular, but its the music that matters. Sound mix was great.
I respect the history, and the fact that its one of the only places that support live original music in the area. Aside from that, the sound has always been bad, its in a rough neighborhood and charges too much for secure parking, there are way too many rules that seem needless, and it rarely does non-metal shows. Definitely go check it out if youve never been and a band you want to see is playing there, it might be your scene.
Webster Underground: Small, intimate venue. Good sound. Attached bar with a good bit of sound dampening so you can hear and still view the stage. Bartenders were friendly and attentive, $5 coat check with earplugs. All around great experience!
A pretty trashy venue but the concert was 10/10
Love the small venues!
Typical dive bar/musical venue. Standing room only and relatively intimate place to see a show. Never really ever that far from the stage. Just dont park in the wrong lot up here as cars get towed.
With the place packed and the right energy a great smaller venue to see get rocked
Ive been coming here since I was a teenager and its still a great venue!
Love to go to events here! Just not a fan of the location!
I loved seeing Action Bronson but it was such a long wait outside. 730pm show starts. Cant get in until 950. The crowd was great too. Good energy.
Pretty run down venue, inside and out. Sounds good, though.
Legit worst venue. Unless your comfortable in sketchy areas and enjoy the fact that paid parking is limited to 100 cars and $20, then go right ahead. The management who chose to address our concerns wasnt helpful at all. In fact, it was clear that he couldnt care less. We will most definitely not purchase tickets for a concert at this venue ever again. With $20 a pop for parking and pan handlers everywhere, they couldnt manage a refund for tickets ... In which advertised for $20 ended up being $60 ! Disgusting.
Absolutely had a great time seeing September mourning. Need more bands like that to play there and for them to go back
Gm it was pretty gud first time visiting for a concert i just do not think there should be weed smoking allowed no type of smoking for tht matter the owner should be curteous to others who do not smoke also hopefully the guards who are working when there is an event the searches are done thoroughly
Good venue despite the neighborhood. Saw Action Bronson was impressed with how the staff handled the event and of course the entertainment was on point. Could have a better beer selection but other then that It was a great experience.
Nice size venue and the acoustics in the room were amazing.
Great venue to see a show at! Everyone is super friendly and accommodating!!
Nice place! But not enough parking. And they could use more lights on the outside parking
Its a pretty sweet venue. Love the small venues like this. Although they should pull that one drunk guy from the pit ruining it for others, and actually hurting people. It wasnt a band that should even have a moshpit
Descent venue. Sketchy area. No drinks on the floor. But if your going for a band you like you hill have an awesome time.
Had a great time, everything was perfect, Thanks Webster theater!.
Great small venue. Parking can be pricey depending on who you go to see. Bring a $20
Good time but dangerously to small
Good venue lots of people but you can still get around
The show I went to was great hut those were the dirtiest restrooms Ive ever encountered at a show, and thats saying something
Always too hot feels like its a large concrete hot box rarely does the artist actually get the music tuned correctly and everything reverberates off the concrete making it difficult to understand or hear
#LocalUnderground @LockedOutCT Great show 3-23-19 only wish there was a different policy for leaving and re-enter for underground.
Love this venue, had a great time here.
Cheap but quality metal n underground music...expensive drinks, bring cash n card. .oh theres also a at door search btw.
Great venue, always park at their parking lot.
Amazing venue with really good prices and decent restrooms
ALL THE METAL CONCERTS!! At the right time.
It was ok i will just keep my opinion to myself thanks
Food and drink is sold here. The venue is in a pretty bad part of town. They have a lot of good acts/shows but the inside feels like its falling apart.
The bathrooms were entirely unkempt and if the main hall was better kept, I bet shows would do more for decorating/using props to involve the crowd.. That might very well contribute to more people choosing the Webster for their show destination. Which in turn might give the Webster a reason to unpack the third bar..take the storage out of their.. The show itself was absolutely INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!! But they arent the Webster, unfortunately. And the Webster doing better would contribute to the bands doing better..
Never a full moment here! Very welcoming and helpful staff.
Great hardcore venue the underground is never been to the bigger part, just know if you are anywhere near the stage in the underground you will be beat up by crowd killers, you have been warned. Always a good time though
Nice place for a concert, bar, snacks, good security crew to keep you safe good acoustics, very good bands playing there regularly
Smells good y or n
My teenager loved the show.
Ive seen a lot of great shows here! The staff is a little short with customers, and drinks are very overpriced, but its a great place to see some big name acts!
There will always be a soft spot in my heart for Webster Underground, however this venue has some major flaws-- AC is DRASTICALLY insufficient for warm summer weather. I recently saw a show where all 4 acts playing that night repeatedly complained about the heat... Yeah, not a good look, Webster. Worse, the bar area is separated from the stage front by a wood and plexiglass partition, making it just about impossible to watch your show while struggling to enjoy a cooling beverage.
Great place to see a show. Either main stage or Webster underground
Its an old theater, but whoever does sound here does an amazing job! Drinks r like any other place like this they r expensive. My favorite part of the webster is they have re-entry! U can go outside and smoke whenever u want! Unlike the palladium.
A beautiful dumpster of a venue, wouldnt have it any other way.
