Nice 3.5 mile easy hike on well-used path. Very crowded during COVID, although people were mindful of distancing. Features foundation stones of Governor Winthrops 1700s home, and views of the Sound. Easy access to strand. Single outhouse on location. Ample parking.

This was a great find! A wonderful, simple 3+ mile loop with water views and nice wooded areas. The path is rocky and has a few muddy areas, but overall its really nice! There are several spots along the water that you can visit and enjoy! Ill be back!

This place is amazing. There is a great view. Great trails. A lake to go swimming. Best of all, if you take the right path, you can go down by the water, and overview everything, the lake, and the state park its self. It is so pretty, and you should definitely check it out, youll have a lot of fun. And its great for the whole family.

Its a good park with a lot of side trails. Sometimes it is absolutely packed, and I have to think its because of its location. It is in a densely pack part of town. There is also fishing, biking, a beach and a picnic area so it has a lot of different activities going on there.

Used to really enjoy coming here for my daily walks. However for the past several weeks there have been more and more large groups of peoples and even functions with 25 or more people with masks optional. It has become a Covid Hot Spot waiting to happen. Hope it goes back to normal soon, I miss my go to walking trail.

Nice walking and bike trail. Beautiful coastal views and forest. The path to the bluff itself isnt marked so we accidentally passed it at first and decided to go back. If you use Google maps as you walk to check your location you can find it more easily.

Beautiful natural Park and yes it is free for everyone to enjoy! You can hike the trail to the beach, or drive to the parking lot and fish and or crab from your car or river bank. You can watch the planes land at the Groton airport. You can also picnic at this park. What a great spot to be with friends and family..or maybe if you can get away you can take your pole and catch some fish relaxing alone. Enjoy!

Lovely state park. No parking or entrance fee. Wide and clear trails. Perfect for kids and strollers, biking, running, and an easy walking trail. They do allow dogs and horses. Bathrooms are available at the beginning and at some point along the trail. There are picnic tables as well. Great way to spend a nice day outside.

I was sent here by a local eatery to have an enjoyable spot to eat my takeout. All I saw was the view from the parking lot, but it was a beautiful May evening with the sun glancing of the water. Very quiet, picturesque, and relaxing. It certainly enhanced the meal. Even with the woman changing her clothes right next to me.

Beautiful park. Wide trails and pet friendly. There are port-a-potties near the parking lot and picnic tables by the water. There is a small airport near therr, and it was neat to the see planes take off and land. The view point from the bluff is breathtaking. It was fun to walk through the woods to come upon the beach. Great place for a picnic and a relaxing walk.

Review №39

Great park to ride your mountain bike, kayak, hike, or just enjoy the beach. The trail is a well-maintained dirt/gravel road that leads to a bluff overlooking the ocean. There is an extending point that forms a crescent shaped beach on one side and the brackish water of an estuary on the other. It takes about 20 minutes to walk all the way out to the bluff, and the entire loop is about 4.5 miles. So, its not for the faint of heart, but its beauty makes it well worth the effort.

Bluff point park is pretty easy to access off of 95 with plenty of parking. There are several picnic tables near there parking lot and a few scattered throughout the trail. The trails around the point are easy to navigate for all ages. The beach areas are nice also but you can not have dogs on them from April til August due to nesting birds ( there are signs posted at the beaches). We visited on a weekday so I can not speak on how crowded it may get on a weekend. If your looking for a place to walk, bike, or kayak on the shore Bluff Point is worth checking out

Its a nice 2 or so mile walk down a dirt road with mini stops along the way to find a spot by the water and chill. But its worth going all the way to the lookouts which have pretty sweet views and theres a nice beach out that way. Simple and cheap fun all day, bring lots of water. Cheers

Beautiful park, most people enjoy the main fire road loop, a wide dirt/gravel path offering expansive views that is great for many activities including walking, running, hiking and biking. Also many miles of great, albeit unmarked single-track connecting to the main fire road. Additional rocky paths near the point and a mile of beach bring visitors right up the water. Additionally connects to Haley Farm State Park and the Groton cross town trail, providing more options for exploration. One of the very best CT State parks, of which there are many. Parking is free and there are many spaces.

The full trail took me about an hour and I am someone you wouldn’t call outdoorsy. However, the view is quite scenic and it’s my Friday afternoon go-to relaxation route. I suggest not doing the full trail but do the water side both there and back. Also, saw a long tailed deer for the first time there... I was extremely confused.

Good place to go in the evening for a sunset. Everytime I had been here has a different view of the nature. You can park the car and take a trek to the beach which is some 1 to 1.5 miles far. The trek is nice as you have to go near the shore all along. I have seen people going in there during winters as well. Its closed at sunset everyday.
