Enjoyed this museum very much. A lot of information and plenty of exhibits. I just wish I had more time. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Grand Junction.

Id have given it more stars but it is a bit small and a bunch of Colorados history has been omitted I think due to that. BUT, they have some great history of the Utes and NA tribes of the area in general. There is an awesome collection of weaving bowls and pottery including some really rare pots/cauldrons. I was hoping for more mining stuff but a bunch on the Spanish exploration was included. My favorite was a collection of early metallic cartridge guns including colt army and an early Henry repeater. It is only $7 for an adult and if you like history you will find something there to make it money well spent.

There were so many fun things to learn about. I liked all the native American artifacts. There is a fun mine you can walk through that even has sound effects. It was awesome to go up to the top of the building and look over the city. The story about the bandit was also really interesting. My kids loved it and want to go back so thats a good thing. Weeks later they still talk about it.

What a lovely place to spend the day going back in time to our great Wild Wild West days, its a blast to experience this arrary of talent and history. And to find out a bit of something new each and every time, the exhibits are always changing and expanding. The staff is great and the gift shop is a real treasure trove to hunt through. If you like history and or just need a little time to pass, try this museum its such a blast!

Not to big, but very educational exhibition related to the history of Colorado, as well as Grand Junction. One may find information about native population of the region, and about population in more modern time and the life style of people living in wild west.Museum also explain why there are no bears in the area. I love this museum, and like to visit it every time I am in Grand Junction.

A fascinating place really. Lots of interesting stuff about the west, even for the kids. I am not American, I am from the mining areas of South Wales UK, and only knew about Western US from what I saw on TV. This museum brought it all to life, we were in there a long time as there was so many interesting things to see and read about. You should go!

Very interesting experience. Had the history of the area from old civilizations to the modern day. Old weaponry, pottery. A few exhibits with hands on allowed. A tower that you can take an elevator up to and see a view of the whole Grand Junction Valley. A must-see!!!

Review №44

The tower is worth the price of admission all by itself. Best view of the whole valley from right downtown. When the elevator door opens behind you and you turn around, the National Monument greets you in all its glory, breathtaking, then its 360 degrees of awesomeness. I was a little disappointed there were no exhibits describing the first settlers in the area but all in all it was a great experience.

Great little museum right in the center of town. Nice area to walk around in downtown Grand Junction and spend the afternoon in.The museum is quite small, but uses its space and exhibits quite well. Lots of stories, artifacts and history from the various periods in the development of the old West. Great for kids with a bunch of displays for them to get into and climb up on.Has a lookout tower at the top that also shows you what building was what in the old days. The staff at the reception is quite nice and friendly as well.
