Took the girls to the trails and found that the river was low enough to wall across here! This place was awesome. Being a pair of water shoes and a hiking stick and treat yourself to a stroll through the river! Saw fishing, tubing, kayaking... Was awesome. Enjoyed a nice summer day with the family, unexpectedly had a refreshing walk through the river and enjoyed the work put in to this park. Will return frequently.
My wife and I got to this park at 12:03 PM, on a beautiful 60 degree Sunday afternoon, hoping for a hike along the Haw river. The gate was locked, next to the gate is a sign that says “Park Open 8:00AM - 5:00PM”.It may have been closed because the river was too high and covered the paths, I don’t know. There could have been a sign or something. It looked like someone had just forgot to open the gate.We drove further down the road and saw the Swepsonville Park Lower Access entrance was also closed. Why?
This is a great place for a hike or fishing. My husband and I spent a day here bank fishing and had a blast. Will definitely be back.
Pretty place to walk.
Great little trail for kids and the family.
I was very excited to Ruck these trails at Opening bright and early at 6am. Sadly i was let down by no one opening the gate at the posted time of opening. I am sure this place is beautiful and peacefull, however, it is closed. If you need someone to open it on time i am happy to volunteer, i am sure its cheaper the whatever you are paying someone to do it when they feel so inclined to get up.
A secluded treasure. Could spend the day here and leave relaxed and stress free. Great photo opportunities as well.
Very quiet and peaceful. My little dogs really enjoyed walking the trails.
Wonderful little park. If you walk the trails from end to end you can get in just over 2 miles. Also a good place for putting kayaks in.
Fun trail with a toddler. Irregular gate opening and closing is only issue?
Very good park if you want to be in nature.
Well maintained and easy to launch boats
Groomed walking trails, pet friendly with bag and trash cans and a porta john for your comfort.
