I loved it! The forest was my favorite with the flower garden coming up second! Its great for the family or a cute date. I think its a bit expensive for the tickets, but its so cute and had multiple interactive light art to play with. They have 10 areas and some drinks and snacks. Do not order the the fries - worse fries I have ever had! How do you go wrong with fries?!
It in an upscale neighborhood, and is the most beautiful wooded park in the Phoenix, AZ area. It has a train you and the kids can ride, it has rose gardens, hilly terrain, ponds, an old house to visit. Go!
Its beautiful. As long as u go during bloom season or when there is a specific event.
This place is beautiful with hundreds and hundreds of cacti, trees and bushes. Its a relaxing place to just sit and read a book. Or you can even have a photoshoot done with the environment around you! They have marked paths to keep you from walking in the actuall garden which is nice. And they even have benches if you want to sit and enjoy some fresh air.
Small local garden & walks around Glendale Library.next to S. Ranch. Labeled trees, cacti and indigenous plants. Several benches plus a few peacocks roaming area. Open 9 to 9. Restrooms on library or ranch next door. Easy parking in library lot. Only busy if theres an event nearby.
Kids love to learn about plants.
This is an amazing opportunity for you to see all the cacti in the living. Different grasses flowers and wildlife. It has several walk throughs to see the differen things. It is also by the Glendale main library. But watch your feet while walking so you dont get thorns in them.
Very chill place. Dog park, sports complex, playground, covered eating area, plenty of room, nice people, great family spot. Whats not to love.
Theres beautiful peacocks everywhere walking around freely or youll see some perched high up on a tree branch..The scenery is absolutely beautiful with so many different types of cactus and plants, flowers, I especially love the botanical garden.. the atmosphere is so serene. Great place to bring the kids!
Love this library and garden. Go to as many of their gardening classes as possible. Free classes with free gifts at times. Always learn something new every class I go to.
This is a great place to learn about gardening and preservation. The Suagaro Ranch is a fun place to take the kids to burn off energy.
I really enjoyed that place its so fun to walk through. Who knew that a desert Garden like that would be so beautiful
How can one miss this, if you have anything to do with going to Glendale Main Library? Dont forget to keep your eyes and ears open for the call and view of those colorful peacocks roaming free in the area! Watch out from above as well, for those birds amazingly perch at high levels--- you know what we humans try to avoid when birds are ever above our head!?!?!?
Beautiful garden and flowers
It is absolutely gorgeous!! You get to view nature and more specifically, you get to view the baby peacocks with their mama. I LOVE NATURE AND ALL ITS BEAUTY!!
Anyone know of cool spots like this around this area just moved here I wanna check it out
It was very informative just could use some pictures of the weeds next time. I would go again and Im going to use alot of the info to start controlling my weeds (hopefully)
Came here with my son and enjoyed the nice weather and some good family time. Its really relaxing here and the library is awesome as well. We enjoyed walking around and the being able to have a small quiet adventure here. Not to mention the library is vast and had the book i had been looking for. Let me add a cute picture of my son, dont mind the tounge he just discovered it lol.
Very nicely done. Cant wait to paint it Saturday
Such a beautiful park. Great for all ages. Love watching all the peacocks roam around the park.
If you like nature this is a spot to stop at for sure. Its a nice botanical garden in the middle of Glendale which is really strange but very nice to have locally. I only come here once a month with family but its a nice spot to relax at.
My husband & I enjoy the xeriscape gardens around the Glendale library. We walk our dog there many evenings. Our only concern is that the gardens are not maintained as well as could be, altho budgetary strictures are no doubt a factor. More & better labeling of the different plants would also be welcome. But we love it there, and recommend it to anyone interested in xeriscaping.
Garden isnt as big as you think. trees were intresting and got to see peacocks up close.
Love the little garden paths here. There was probably 20 peacocks walking around the day we went.
The peacocks were wonderful. A little discombobulated as far as trails go, but overall it was nice.
Beautiful outdoor walk to see lical plantlife and the peacocks are always a hit!
Every parent should take there children tooVery relaxing too 10 plus
Upon walking up to the grounds I immediately noticed the Peacocks roaming the front of the building. I had to stop and take a picture. If I didnt have business to attend to I probably could have stayed out there longer. I was impressed with the layout of the library and kept thinking about how much my children would enjoy coming here and exploring the different areas and searching for books. I cant wait to bring them so they can learn to enjoy reading the way I did when I was a child.
A beautiful place to get Books and read.
Enjoy seeing the fauna. I got to see some peacock chicks all squeaking away. Truly adorable.
Place is relaxing. The sound of the peacocks...well, to me is relaxing listening to them.
I mean its reading and peacocks. Of course I love it. But me and my reading friends found that it is hard to find books by their genre like most people like to do. Its ordered by author.
Beautiful Veterans Memorial and meditation gardens with lots of peacocks.
Neat little area by Sahuaro Ranch Park. The peacocks are beautiful and quite docile, you can get up pretty close to them and get good pics if wanted. Majority of the space is Parking for the Library. But the Cactus garden is quaint, and interesting to walk through.
Its beautiful georgouse flowers amazing old buildingsfeiendly peacocks everywhere fantastic fields of citrus trees and amazing picnic area with bbqs and play ground
I was mostly there for the library, but the scenery was gorgeous!!
The environment is calm great to read enjoy your reading escape to what your learin is the best especially when you see the peacocks running around
I was only expecting to go to the library, check out a book, maybe rent a movie or something. Next thing I know there is this crazy looking bird, the most fancy tail I have ever seen. Well come to find out, it was a peacock! And there was an entire family of them living there in the parking lot and the surrounding land. Podiums set up to teach all about the animal. Very interesting to say the least. Good times.
The Glendale library is a great place to visit and regularly has many activities and entertainment events. I was just there returning a book; so, I dont have much to report on my visit except as always the employees were courteous and efficient! I have enjoyed many activities in the past including watching a great jazz band! They always have something going on! Check them out!
Peaceful...nuff said.
Actually I visited the Glendale public library. A very calm, pleasant environment. Relaxing. Enjoyable AND fun for people of all ages. Right next to the garden. Beautiful peacocks roam the grounds of the library and the garden next door. ALL types of literature, how-to classes for all ages, interesting artists and speakers on a variety of subjects also available. To top it all - its FREE! Give yourself a break and visit your local public library. You may find yourself pleasantly surprised to see all thats available to you for enjoyment as well as entertainment at little to mostly no cost for yourself and yours. You will be surprised at all thats there for you. Fairly lengthy opinion on the library when next door to the gardens.
Wonderful example of how lovely a desert garden can be, well-maintained and diverse. I would like to see flowering and fruiting plants however.
Public library in a great place to reflect being a veteran, a large eclectic mix of people visit here young and old. Sahuaro ranch Park is a whole other side of Glendale most people havent seen.
Great botanical garden, nice place to check out and take a walk, great library next door
Relaxing & nice to sit & watch the peacocks
They always real nice and professional and most import fast and what they doing I appreciate that.. thank you all you guys
Beautiful gardens, cool library. I love that this is in my town. Im quite proud to be a resident.
Interesting place to visit. But I do not recommend young children due to the high chance of get pricked by a cactus or two.
Beautiful, Peaceful, Relaxing. Will go again. Attached to a library and park great for adults and children.
The kids always love seeing the beauty in the birds
Just to clarify, the garden wraps around the library, in case youre wondering where it is when you arrive. Great botanical garden, great for a short nature walk or for a photo OP. Actual peacocks on the property, something to look out for
Very relaxing and great place to walk though I recommend when the weather is cooler!

Nice place to take a walk and unwind
A nice escape from the choas
I love to come here and creep out the local women.
I grew up in Columbus Ohio, where its a green and when its brown its fall or autumn. Do to that it took me awhile to get used to brown everywhere. Now that Ive been living in Arizona for over 11 years, I see the beauty in the brown. I never thought that sand, rocks, and cacti would be beautiful. However theres a quiet beauty to the Phoenix desert landscape. Arizona is my home now, just as much as Columbus is. Knowing that I can recognize and enjoy my surroundings shows that I am finally acclimated to the desert grandeur.
I picked up some trash, need attention of cleaning. Signs faded.
This garden is outside of the Glendale main Library. It is handicap friendly and there are restrooms inside of the library. They have a wide variety of plants native to the AZ desert. At different times of the year you will see some blooms. Usually in the Spring. There are easy to read signs that explain what plant you are looking at. If you keep your eyes open, you just see t might see a peacock or two! Sometimes, there are even babies!!
Awesome info on the plants, and a great little spot for a short walk. It’s also right next to the library, so it could make a great place to sit and read.
Nice things and a library
Nice small public garden circling parking lot.
Had very good information on the plants besr for the area
Very nice display of desert fauna/flora. Beware of the peacocks roaming around!!
This is a great surprise to find next to the fantastic library.
Clean and well maintained. And they have peacocks running around outside! They also have a beautiful servicemans memorial with copper trees in the front of the library.
So beautiful and peaceful.
Beautiful views of peacocks.
Great place to walk.
I love this place the historical buildings are cool to look at and the peacocks rome around freely its cool.
Good place to relax, sometimes has shade.
Great place - very interesting to see the landscaping plants that need much less water than what most desert dwellers plant. It is a great place to hang out. Well, not in the summer, WAY to hit, but in the cooler months - it is fantastic.
Cute stop for the family. Right outside the library. Cool statues & plenty of shade for a quite minute to sit & read.
Pretty Park
Beautiful! Quiet and serene, plenty of new plants and cactus to see! Will definitely be back!
Free Tuesdays are great!
Beautiful peacocks just walking around
Glendale main library has been a favorite place to visit for the past 10 years. It backs up to Saguaro ranch park which has wild peacocks roaming free. The mini garden in the back of the library is relaxing and landscaped well.
Great place to learn about desert landscaping!
Good for my Weed smoke
Xeriscaping at this library is very interesting and worth checking out. Next to Sahuaro Ranch, another point of interest.
Awesome place. Friendly people and the peacocks are a nice touch. Great place for a picnic..
