Love this place. Next to amoeba which is also awesome.Clean and nice in the middle of LA.

It does a body good to see that, instead of being torn down as older buildings often are, the buildings that were once the premiere place in Glendale to watch a movie, The Exchange Theaters have been renovated and transformed into a first class, circa 2020 Movie Palace. And renod with all of the appropriate amenities and then some as in the Arclight or Regal Theaters which the Studio Movie Grill now eclipses.I have very fond memories of this space in that it was here that i first saw Titanic, The Bodyguard and JFK plus many more for example.They have completely revamped all of the spaces and more importantly all of the projection and sound production guts.Though i had already seen all of the movies currently playing here, i needed to check this venue out asap and so i viewed once again the majestic accomplishment that is 1917.I originally saw this at the Regal and by comparison, this viewing to quote a cliche: was the difference between night and day.The picture here was crystal clear as was the sound which means that the equipment here is 2020 quality not 1995 quality. Its like watching your home TV in 4D as opposed to older formats.Plus here you have a server who comes around and brings you food and drink. I didnt have much except an IPA, Coffee and Popcorn but i am amazed at the low pricing but his might have been because of the early hour. The movie itself is only 10 bucks for a 1015 am showing.Check their website for all of what they offer via snack foods though for me i would rather not gouge out on a plate of wings or nachos while watching a movie. What i will do is alter-out on beer and shots and mixed drinks.I am very jazzed that this joint is here and i hope it stays around for a long time. As it is: it is a major addition to the Glendale movie watching scene as well as a nice companion to the Laemmle across the street.BTW; Miss Brittany gave us first class service and all that i had was primo: the Hazy IPA is malty, hoppy and well alcho-holed. the popcorn was crispy not chewy which is more unusual than you might think.Plus there is cup hole that keeps your beer or coffee or whatever chilled or hot while you are watching the movie! The chairs are big, comfy and adjust but do not adjust so that you can stretch out and fall asleep or resemble a body on a marble slab.Also on the arm of the chair is a small lamp so that you can read the menu or write your friend a letter should the movie get boring.As you enter there looks to be a full service restaurant with a long bar and seats for dining and drinking before or after a movie.I do not often get wowed but i was today.I will definitely be back!

Great theater experience. The recliner chair has heating function. It’s quite comfortable. The service was wonderful. Our service guy Ben was extremely polite. We did not order food as we came here after dinner. They also serve wine and cocktails.The only downside of their menu is a lack of vegan and/or gluten free options. Most of the food is relatively unhealthy. (They only mark two items on the menu as healthy). I’d appreciate more if they could serve more healthy food or snacks.

I have been to lots of movies theaters and I can say this one was amazing. The food is great. The service is wonderful. The place is spotless. The seats are so comfortable we enjoyed the experience. You walk in and from the smell to the seats to the food it is amazing. We love it and will go back for sure. Now I will be trying to find a movie to go see where before I would only go if I really wanted and must see it. I tried to avoid theaters before but not anymore. Thank you

Had a really good experience recently, staff was SUPER nice, attentive, courteous, pro.Food was a big surprise, didnt expect much and was really quite good! Veggie wrap and BBQ flat bread pretty delicious.Nice job crew!And yes, seats are incredible. Heated, comfy, deluxe.

Fancy theater with reasonable priced tickets. Only downside I see is that food is on the pricey side and bathrooms at the adjacent building for theaters 3 and up are non functional as of this writing. Theater was huuuuuuge.Customer service exceeds expectations. Couple beside me had a non functioning recliner chair so they were offered passes for their next movie as compensationParking validation seems to be 2 hours only.

This is the movie theater to visit in Glendale go on Tuesdays for the best movie ticket deals! The wings are great and they dont skimp on the booze when it comes to mix drinks. If you are looking for great popcorn you wont find it hear. Instead you get excellent desserts and meals.

I HIGHLY recommend this movie theater! The seats and service are amazing. The seats have cooling and heating, a food tray, a light to see the menu in the dark and they recliner including the head rest. You get all of that and at a good price. Forget the other movie theaters and go here. No comparison that was the best movie experience I had so far!

First theater experience as a Californian and I loved it. The seats and overall experience were awesome. You have access to nonstop service throughout but it doesn’t deter from the movie. Comfortable seats and really affordable prices. The night we went (Friday?) bottles of wine were hugely discounted. Will definitely be back. Food was decent too.

State of the art movie theater with gourmet food!Went to SMG’s newest location last night. Sparkling interior design, inviting bar and entrance.I went to theater #4. Comfortable and adjustable recliner seats combined with a solid sound and picture.SMG “Impossible” burger recommended!

This place has great customer service! The lobby smells good! The theater is big, and the chairs are very comfortable with a butt-warmer! Be ready to pay huge for cocktails and food though!

Tickets are cheap and they actually offer student discounts! The staff is super friendly and the seats are very comfortable. I just think that for the price of the food, they don’t really give you enough as compared to other restaurants in the area.

Food/beverage service is slow. You hit the light button, it takes over 10 minutes for service and the place wasnt even packed. On a Wednesday night, the employees were too ready to go home to refill beverages when there was 20 minutes left in movie. The ranch dressing must taste like blue cheese because the waiter brought me something that tasted like blue cheese twice when I asked for ranch. Not impressed. Informed manager on duty, all he did was apologized and gave me his card. For what? Im right here now.

First time here and it was better then I thought it would be. The seating is fantastic! Comfortable leather chairs that recline and leg extension via side control buttons. The cup holder has a cooling or heating option(i didnt try it myself but a friend said it worked) a couple USB slots to charge your phone and a small light to see the menu if you so choose.The food and ordering it/receiving it during the movie: they werent as intrusive or distracting as I feared they would be. I had the mac and cheese, which at $14 was a little pricey but was larger then I expected and very tasty. My other friends were not so impressed by their choices so buyer beware. The staff did their best to avoid blocking the screen as they delivered peoples food, ducking as they passed and squatting if they were taking orders. All in all I recommend this place for a date night or a group of friends but not for a frequent visit as it can be a very expensive movie night.

I paid 39 dollars worth of food and it was cold! I called the staff for help and asked them to warm it up. It took them over 20 minutes, I called them again and they brought me my food 10 minutes later IN THE SAME CONDITION! Then the staff snickered afterwards. First and LAST time coming to this place.

New way of watching movies nice, clean movie. They serve food and alcohol . Seats are very comfortable automatically recline, heated and cooled.

Went to 2 showings in1 day. The first time was very nice! But the 2nd showing was absolutely horrible.!!! I ordered the same cocktail never received it charge for too little candies the bill came to $28 or $29.78 had to leave the movie to try and fix it they reduced the price charged me only $6 but still charge my card twice for A total of$36 some change. Then I couldnt get ahold of anybody to try and fix the problem!

I always come here with my kids. The staff is always friendly and polite. The food here is good.

Very nice place

Really wanted to like it but I found it to be really distracting.. Had to call the waiter back to get the things we ordered because they didnt bring it and because of that we missed key parts of the movie we watched.. At least wait for movies that you can play at home at least you can pause it to get exactly what you wanted.. Disappointed

This is the second time Ive been here and what I can tell you right off is the hospitality and service is amazing. I brought my mother the second time and she got a little teary eyed at how nice everyone was. One of the members there even took us back to the concierge to get our seats changed because we realized that we picked seats little too close to the screen. Waiters are attentive and not too pushy, they were happy to show us around and how things worked on the chairs. Nice atmosphere with open bar lounges which is a nice touch, not too pricey. Food and drinks were prepared quickly and tasted great. Compliments also to the bartenders, margaritas werent too strong or too weak it was just right. The reclining powered chairs with the cooling drink holders are awesome. We had such an amazing experience. I signed up for their paid membership which offers alot of perks that pay for itself and they even give away free movie and meals to people in need for your community for being a member, thats really noble. GLENDALE NEEDED THIS! My favorite theater now. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

We waited for more than an hour for the food to come, when the movie almost finished. It looks really fancy outside, felt like you are in a Vip box. However you pay $15 for a cold burger and a cup of salsa with chips. They offered a service call button, but the waiters never came. It can be a real Vip experience, but they made it a disaster

Amazing recliners, sound, picture and food with the fine dining hospitality. Glad to have this location in Glendale. Loved the Kabobs and BSB Bourbon!

Oh man Ive missed these full service theatres! This one is particularly nice with reserved seating in oversized recliners. Table service includes a full bar, snacks, pizzas, burgers and more. The chips with queso is a comfort food Id been missing from Texas, thats right honest to god chile con queso mmmmmmm!

Didnt have a good experience.Maybe avoid going to late showings before you read this. We went to see the 10:30 showing of Knives Out on opening night. Ive never been to a Studio Movie Grill before, but showed up 20 minutes early like the ticket said to, and we came hungry. We got there and at no point did anyone check our tickets---you could very easily just show up without them. We make it through the confusing layout to our theater completely by ourselves and are told that we have to wait 10 minutes for the theater to be cleaned. Ive been going to movies for my whole life and have never once had to wait for a theater to be cleaned... let alone because I showed up when the ticket told me to. Whatever, we got in a little late, the movie started a little late it wasnt a concern.Well the time to order rolls around so we do. Not sure how they didnt anticipate this but the things my S/O and I both wanted, the chicken tenders and the brisket sliders were both out of stock. I ordered a flatbread and some popcorn. The flatbread tasted like it used the same pizza sauce I buy from Ralphs, and was very unremarkable. It also wasnt very filling so I decided after the movie started to order something (they make a point of telling you that you can order at any point during the movie by hitting the red button on your seat) only to be told that the kitchen was closed without any warning from anyone that it actually closed at some point... The only thing they were able to do is refill my water. Gee, thanks!I guess go for a showing when the kitchen is open? Other people on here seem to really like it, but I unfortunately got cheated out of the full experience. Thank god we only paid $10 for the tickets.I get that this place is pretty new and that there might be some teething issues, but this is pretty bad. Id give it a few months before trying them out again. At least the movie was good.

Went to see a 215p movie, arrived before 215. Nothing is playing on the screen, 15 minutes later still nothing playing. Manny the manager on site couldn’t care less

There is free public parking at front for the first 90 mins then 1 dollar every 30 mins . Can’t wait to come back :D

Great customer service, food (mac & cheese)

Disappointing experience overall. Took my kids to see Frozen II Saturday night and though the theater and the reclining seats are really nice the food and service left a lot to be desired. Ordered the brisket sliders with fries and though the fries were nice and hot the meat in the sliders was lukewarm at best. Yuk. We ordered a large popcorn but it never was delivered and of course it was on the check. We waited nearly 30 minutes for the server to return with the corrected check. If that wasnt enough when I got home I noticed my CC was double charged for food so now have the hassle of going through my bank to dispute the double charges. My advice is to take advantage of the $5 Tuesdays when all the movies are supposedly $5 all day and avoid ordering anything through their kitchen/server system. Im gonna try getting my sodas and popcorn at the bar before the movie next time.12-22-19 Update - Well I contacted guest services at the email they requested with the details of my experience but never heard anything back. Nevertheless we gave it another shot this weekend to see Rise of Skywalker and they still cant get it right. I wont go into all the details this time but basically its hit or miss if youll actually receive all the items you order. I think their ordering system is flawed - despite having 3 different servers come to our seats when we pressed the service button - they couldnt get it right. Its back to iPIC from now on. Too bad I like the theater.

I have been attending the smg in monrovia, great place but i must say this has been the first time to the smg in glendale give this place all stars thumbs up cart wheels if must say i spoke to a gentleman by the name freddie i was a little lost but the gentleman went above and bound he introduced me to matt very pleasent that helped us out and after a smooth check in he than introduced me to heidie i hope i spelled her name right witch is our server from start to finish she was top notch aaa + food was excellent place clean and comfortable talk about queen and king service blow my mind from heated seats to light and fans on seat reclining seats clear screen full space well worth the money so take the time to stop by dont just take my word for it you will love it try the humas plate thumps up to the kids menu my son and grandson loved the vist thanks so much ...

I have to say the service is top notch! Nearly every employee greeted our group and made us feel very welcomed. Ticket prices were great and menu options were plentiful.However, there are a few things for management to work on.The theater was ice cold! The reclining seats don’t have blankets, but they are heated seats. But when you’re being blasted with 65 degree AC while your back is almost sweating, it gets a little uncomfortable.The bathrooms were out of order on our floor and there was no clear signage, so I wasted 10 mins of precious movie time trying to pee.Lastly, our fellow neighbors in the theater were served way too many drinks... making them giggly and talkative.They may have been well-mannered sober people, but the 4 drinks they were served turned them into laughing, chatting, toasting fools during Maleficent. So toasty, they nearly toppled over and wobbled in and out during bathroom breaks. Embarrassments. Lucky no children were present.Alcohol should seriously be limited in theaters. They drank so much, our whole row smelled like a bar. They ruined our experience and we had no choice but to ask to be refunded.I won’t personally come back, but if you want to turn movie night into nightclub night, come to this place...

The people who work here are super friendly! Everyone greets you. I’ve visited three times and I’m impressed with how cheap ticket prices are compared to Pacific Theaters. Unlike them, SMG actually offers student discounts & $5 Tuesdays. Watching movies here feels like a luxury, considering how cheap it is.…However, this is getting only three stars is bc of how small portions are. They charge you the same prices regular restaurants do, but it’s ridiculously unsatisfying. On my first visit, I ordered the margerita flatbread. They said they’re out of stock. Then, a little later on they said they found it. So, I ordered. No big deal. My server came up to me, confused, late into the movie asking if I received my food. I did not. They returned much, much later, and came back with this tiny pizza looking thing that costed like $13. It looked like a loaf of bread that they flattened and put pizza toppings on. Considering the price, I could have ordered two full sized pizzas but instead I got this sad tiny thing. The second time around, I just got a medium popcorn which looked like half a bag of what you get from regular theaters. Worse comes to worse, the bag was folded at the top to avoid filling it up all the way. I asked my server for butter and he was very sassy about it. He gave me like three containers and mockingly asked if it was enough. Third visit and I got a Mac and cheese and you guessed it. Still not enough food.
