Love the trails and love that you can take your dogs. Dogs must be on a leash at all times..Very clean and well maintained..

Sprig lake trails to Mt madonna offer great hiking, views, different levels of effort, and lengths, oaks, mesquite, and redwood forest. In the springtime, there are running creeks, springs and waterfalls. This area is a wonderful recreational resource.

Nice trails through the woods, and then up to views. A bit of flat before the climbs. The views are worth it for sure.

So beautiful! Definently a workout!! Started off on the left of where the horse parking is at. (You can go either way starting left, or right from there, left is ALOT More challenging but fun) then we went all the way around, took us four hours to get to the bottom. So worth it though!! View was amazing. Make sure to bring lots of water

Excellent place to hike. Some of the trails were a little muddy after the rain but there us was plenty of shade on the sunny, hot days.

The Sprig Lake loop is a wonderful hike. If you are in great physical shape, go the clockwise direction. If not, counterclockwise is much easier but still a pretty strenuous hike. 2.5 miles uphill vs 1.2 miles.

One of the best areas to hike. Totally recommended. Tranquility and beauty.

Super nice hiking/running/walking trails

On the right just past the horse parking the trail starts then splits into two. The right is the easiest. The left is more interesting. Blackhawk trail which runs along the west side of the creek was the most beautiful but has been closed. They say it will be open in 2016. Up about 2 miles is the trail to Tie Camp. Its a pct type trail that runs along a small creek and is surrounded by tall redwoods and ferns. It is a welcome respite from the sunny dirt roads. At the car parking area straight ahead is the most vigorous trail through redwoods and forest undergrowth similar to the Pacific Crest Trail. Trails abound here and they are all beautiful. In the Spring you see multitudes of luminous gold banana slugs and hear the rushing sounds of the creeks.

Nice hiking trail...not for the weak!

The lowest place is at the parking area. That means that everything from that point is uphill. That means that this is a great place to work them gluts. Horse riding, bike riding and hiking are the things to do here. Lots of loop trails and side branches meander in and out of sloping forested terrain. Streams run in the wet season. The sun beats down hot in the summer. Be careful entering and exiting off of Mt. Madonna Road (Hwy. 152).

This is one of the best places to hike in Santa Clara County. The Western part of the park is so dense with foliage, its almost like something out of a movie. There are incredible towering redwoods that keep it cool from the heat of summer.

Great hiking trails very well kept trails better be In good shape because the trail is very steep but once u get to the top great views of the valley.

Free parking, hiking trail is very steep first 2 miles or so. I usually go on Sunday and theres usually hardly anybody, feels like I have the trail all to myself. The best part is its dog friendly so I bring my fury son with me and let him go leash free. Highly recommend.

I go horseback riding there all the time.Great hiking, Redwoods abound!Rangers are cool. Except one.It is really the Backside of Mount Madonna...

Great trails, enough to accomodate most experience levels, under a beautiful and lush forest canopy. Some picnic benches near parking area.Put everything you own in the trunk, theft does occur frequently, but only when valuables are left in plain sight.
