This is the best dog park Ive found in the East Valley. There are so many individual off leash gated areas for your dog to play in. If there needs to be a separation, its easy to step into a different gated off leash area with your pooch. There is an amazing beach area for water play, there are picnic tables so you can eat while dog plays. My favorite is the large area with about 25 tennis balls scattered around. Its easy to play fetch there.

My boyfriend and I used to take our dog here a lot, however I recently found out about the dead body found in the water in 2018, and the condition of the water is very concerning, which with this new knowledge makes me very hesitant to let my dog swim. The grass side is kept nice most of the time, but the last time we took our pup here he contracted kennel cough and brought it home to the rest of our 4 dogs. It’s always a risk you take at dog parks but please, keep your sick puppies at home.

Amazing dog park, and free! Moved from Chicago where youd have to pay a yearly subscription for something this nice. There are 4 fenced off areas: 1 for timid/small dogs, 1 lakefront section where dogs can swim in the lake, 1 large park area, and on medium sized hill section. People pick up after their dogs well here and its honestly gorgeous. I now come back every weekend with my 6 month old dog and its the same energy and fun atmosphere each time

This is one of the nicest dog parks in the East Valley. Water dogs love this place. The park also features a small playground, a walk-around water feature, paved bike paths, and some steep hills for workouts. Parking can get tight when it gets crowded, so be prepared.

It would be nice if they had a water section for small dogs. My dog doesn’t get along with small dogs, so we can’t take him to the water to cool off because everyone brings their tiny dogs into there. My dog was also bit and the owner denied it, despite the fact we literally had to pull their dog off of him...Please watch your dogs.

I highly recommend this dog park. So glad I did not listen to the naysayers. This is by far the best dog park. The water was clean and the grounds are beautiful. I did pick up several bags of poop, better to take action rather than complain about neglectful dog owners.

Considering this park does not make the city any money, they do an excellent job keeping it clean! Multiple gated grass areas as well as a dog beach! The water for the dogs can get caught up with algae easily, but for the most part it stays clear enough for the pups (and pups ONLY) to enjoy! If your dog likes water, this is the best park in the valley!

Mo
Review №28

The water isn’t fenced in all the way so my dog would only have to swim a few yards to get out so it’s not good for dogs that are good swimmers and don’t have good recall. They also don’t post anywhere when they close down the water so I was a bit disappointed to get there and it was closed. It’s a good park, it just could use more fencing and maybe a social media page that posted any alerts like the water being closed.

My dog Mello loves this park and so do I. The historical significance of Cosmo and her contribution as the first police K-9 cannot be understated as it allows a diverse group of individuals and dogs to come play together under her name. This park features a couple obstacles, one being a set of stairs, and a body of water that dogs are able to play in.

Cosmo used to be fun but I feel like park officials abandoned it because it is not well kept. I get that dog parks will smell but Cosmo took it to another level. I can’t even breathe. Also there’s not grass, just dirt. I thought San Tan Village was a nice neighborhood?

Great dog park. Different double gated and fenced areas for large and small dogs. The largest area is on the shore of a small park lake that is great if your dog likes the water. Plenty of area to swim, fetch and run around. Can get crowded on the weekends. There is another separate gated area for general play. It has real grass and is large enough for big dogs to really run. Also contains an agility structure for the dogs to run up and over. Also has a few benches to sit on. No shade inside the enclosure though there are a couple of covered picnic benches outside the gated area where you can watch your dog from. There is a third fenced area for small dogs. Also real grass.Besides the great separate areas there are two dog cool down / rinse stations with water hoses. A really great option during the summer or if your pooch rolls in the dirt after swimming in the lake.Cosmo Dog Park was obviously designed by someone who really knows dogs. It is the best dog park in the Valley of the Sun. Indeed, the best dog park I have ever encountered.

We visited this park today, as we plan on moving to the area from Chicago in the next year. We found this park to be amazing for the dogs! I think I would still bring my own water for the dogs to drink like we did back at home, in the empty milk jugs and their normal water bowls or a small cooler filled with ice. But this place blows away the parks we have back in Chicagoland! Cant wait to bring my babies here errr- I mean Labs here to swim. And then wash them when done! Then taken then for a leashed walk around the park to dry off on concrete or grass before leaving, perfect!

This is our absolute favorite dog park! It is very well organized and planned out. There are several separate dog areas so you can decide which would fit your dogs personality best. The gated area my huskies enjoy has a beach and a lake so they can swim all they want. There is a place for them to jump off into the water, plenty of shallow water for them to play, as well as deeper water for the brave swimmers. There are tables and shaded areas for the parents to sit and watch the pups play. There is a dog shower area as well to clean them up after they swim and play. Overall, this park is amazing. There are just some owners who think their dog is the perfect little thing. There is a dog does not play with any other dog at the park. We saw it get into a fight today, and the owner literally picked up the opposing dog and told the owner to take their dog and leave. As they were leaving, he made some remarks. Our dog loved the other dog quite frankly; sweetest little thing. Beware of an young man and his Belgian Malinois. Super rude to other owners and their dogs. Also please, PLEASE don’t bring your small dog into the big dog area. You are just asking for trouble at that point. Be respectful of the dog breeds. Just because I have a black German Shepherd, does not mean it’s aggressive. But yeah. Good park, just some owners who need to respect other people’s pets.
