This place is so much fun they have great service great food and great workers I love this place so much I come here every Friday now!!!!

Family enjoy 3 hours of good clean family fun the food was great, skating was great the atmosphere was nice people are very helpful the staff helped at least three of my grandchildren skating so yes we really enjoyed ourselves thank you Kates Skating for all your hospitality

Fun time for families. They have specials everyday of the week. The prices were reasonable and they have more than just skating. They have small arcade and pool tables skate shop and concessions. They also allow strollers on the rink so it’s very family friendly. It’s a little dated but like most skate rinks I’ve seen. The staff was very polite.

Called and was told they were open...when we got there they were closed....and it was within the times they stated... Circumstances happen true..and that could have been the case.. But there was no notice on the door...and there were others who were also coming to get in...so they may have been told the same thing too.. I only rated a one due to communication error...never got in to rate the rest..

Place is great its the same as a roller rink goes but the staff is friendly and nice.

Very fun. This was my first time skating and at first I fell a lot but towards the end I got better. The staff are friendly and nice. The entire place is really nice. Great place overall!

Great place to learn how to skate, for all ages. They have skate mates in all sizes. I do suggest early as possible for first timers. Also have a great training coach that will get you up and going in no time. A++

Cute little place with a friendly staff. Priced well, too! Rental skates were pretty decent too, which is way more than lots of other places can say. I recommend coming here if youre looking for a skating rink!

Our visit was on a sunday very mellow. I encountered an issue with my drink/ cup and the manager saw how dissatisfied I was and offered to give me a refund. I stated I wasnt expecting anything but the offer was still there. That was pretty cool.

I go there a good bit great staff always nice and friendly just follow the rules the pizza here is good and I always have a great time with friends when I come

I had to take a refresher course @ the Lowell location with my skating and the teacher is great. Paul assisted me in purchasing my first pair of skates. Soon, I will be the DIVA of skating, but until then....skate mate it is!!!

THAT PLACE IS THE BEST

Its so fun but this happens to everyone if you fall too many times in one place you might get a bump it happens probably at any skating ring though

Facility was nice minus the restrooms and hand wash area. Kids and I had a blast skating.

Very clean fun family environment

Sticky place with no rails. The manger give better customer service than the shoe girl. Who is rude and cant remember where she put your ticket at. So, be sure to hold on to them until she has your undivided attention. You may get a roll butty this is good for first time skater. We still had fun trying to find the safe please to begin. In all not so bad, could be better.

Fun. But the floor is old needs work. The staff is awesome!

Just saw the documentary on this place on HBO! I didn’t know that this hobby was in danger due to so many rinks closing nationwide. Keep adult skate night active at all rinks! Please don’t close. Summer is coming!

Everything was great. Friendly staff and the event was held for my sons school. No issues anywhere on my end.

We have my daughters birthday here almost every year and this year was a TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT. The place is getting run down, and you get I think 100 tokens that you pay for in the package. They have about 25 games, 5 games work and they are only claw machines. I suggest you check the place out before you waste your money .

The floor is patched and uneven which makes for a dangerous skating situation, you have to dodge certain areas on the floor. The kid skates are old and the people that give skates dont seem like they know to check the wheels and inspect the skates before they give them out. I use to love to skate when I was younger but the experience here is not the same and this skating rink needs a lot of work its old and out dated.

My kiddo is obsessed... But they have an Awesome Kids Skate Free program that allows kids to skate free twice a week!! And the have Icees!!!

We attended Kates for an event and had a great time! We look forward to our children having Kates as a place to have fun and get physical activity.

It was so much fun but it was pricey

It was the best I was with my friends from invest collegiate and it was all you can eat/ drink and there glow in the dark pasifires and many other things like pool, and other games. EVERYONE SHOULD GO THERE! they even donate to schools or works yesterday they donated 480.00 dollars.

Tried to bring my 9 year old for skate lessons. Lady on phone said he here at 10. Got here and they said it had to be done online. Wouldve been nice to have been told this before hand. Now have a very disappointed kid! Not to mention losing business by not wanting to take my money at the window.

Great place for kids and adults to have a couple hours or more of fun

Fun place for the kiddos. The arcade machines are broken but who goes to a skate rink to place games I guess. Prices ate pretty cheap for concessions. There where lots of birthday parties going on so seating is limited. Come to skate and youll have fun.

Always clean and well maintained. Not at all run down like some rinks. Good music on Monday nights.

This is best place to skate...I came when I was younger I the late 80s now my kids come in the 2000s ...and it still poppin....

The kids really enjoy skating. I like the gliding tool to help the kids learn how to skate. They have a great time whenever we go. I wish the jungle gym was included in admission, its really small to charge to use it

This place is amazing and I’m reading some of these reviews of people saying the place is bad because of music or staff not being available or kids being bad or staff being a little rude or the food. First off you are able to request your own songs and this place is busy and that’s why staff aren’t available all the time because you have some at the ticket area and others working on the food and others making sure people are safe and some of the kids are mean but the staff deal with them and sometimes it might seem like the staff are being rude, well they are just doing their job and they might of had to deal with a big situation. I come here every time I have a chance to and every weekend and I know the staff here and they are nice people. Some people are mean and get a little out of control, but those people are dealt with. That’s why on some nights they have an officer on duty because you can’t go somewhere like a skating rink and expect everyone to be angels and perfect kids. If you had a bad experience come again, but at a different time and you will really enjoy yourself like me. Skating with my friends gets my mind off of all my family issues and it’s fun and you lose weight while skating too. Lastly, the food. It is ok food but I mean it’s a skating rink not a diner or restaurant. It’s meant for skating and having fun. There is good food there, just isn’t the best. If you haven’t been to Kate’s, I really encourage you to go and if you had a bad experience, go back and give it another shot because it’s a great place to be!

Game machines dont even work. I paid a dollar for 4 tokens and got 2?? My friend got 3??

Great place. Very nice people! Very clean environment and the music is nice. The food is a bit expensive to me so I gave 4 stars instead of 5.

Been going to Kates since I was a kid, now I take my kids who love the place like I did.. & they love to have their birthday partys there as well.. always love visiting the skate ship to see all the new wheels & skates, the hottest stuff out!

Its a basic skating rink. No wall and no kids area. Music is decent. Food is what you can expect from a skating rink.

We love taking our kids on Friday nights!! we love paul, mary, bailey, haley, and the rest of the staff. they are all so helpful and friendly. we try not to miss any fridays!!!!

The people that work there are really pleasant, attentive, and accommodating. They have great food and great prices! Would recommend for a party or just a fun night.

Seems to be doing there job of helping keep kids off the street, was there picking up a friends kid and seems like he had fun

Update: After being invited back to this skating rink we were a little skeptical about it at first. However, our second experience was amazing. Paul and all of the other staff there had a completely different vibe then last time. They were smiling, nice, polite and all of the above. I must say, the second time around was nothing like our first visit. We will definitely be coming back. The triplets even stated that this was the best day ever. I would like to say thank you to all of the staff today at the skating rink. You all were amazing and made the skating rink feel so welcoming than our last vist. Paul keep up the amazing work, and your welcoming smile. We would also like to say thank you to the female from concessions that brought our food. I was not able to get her name, but thank you for your smile and amazing vibe.

They have an indoor play area for the younger/shorter kids which is great. My 4 and 6 yr olds get tired of skating and they can go play in the play area, while my 10 yr old loves to just skate, and skate hard! Its got fun for all of them.

A good place to take the children

Went to my nieces birthday party. Private party. It was awesome. My family really enjoyed it.

My grandsons birthday party was nice, we really enjoyed ourselves. Great place for kids & adults. I remember this place forever and its still a really cool place.

The manager and staff is very unprofessional, I came to this skating rink to redeem my passes and they denied me the opportunity to redeem them. Racist and bias !!!

Great Experience! My son had loads of fun his 1st time skating!

Planned all week to take my son here on Presidents’ Day for his first skating experience. Automated message said they were open from 11:00 to 8:00 and they gave pricing. Additionally I confirmed that again this morning. However, after driving 30 minutes to get here, the parking lot is empty and the door is locked. Thanks for the false advertising, making drive halfway across Charlotte for nothing, and ruining our day.

Just had my sons party at Kates. The kids all had a great time. The pizza was very good and the party hostess was friendly and attentive. I would have another party here and will highly recommend friends check it out for their kids.

I just admire how they have crafted a hold on for the younger skaters to balance themselves and enjoy the experience with this unique cool balance push bar! If your child can stand they can literally skate!

A lot of fun for kids and adults

When you and you family are allergic to dairy and can’t even eat all you can eat pizza or hot dogs because they contain caseins, and express that you are not here to eat and you are forced to pay $7 a person because that’s the rule. Not acceptable . We would have come on another night but have to work around my husbands schedule. Thanks for the lack of customer service . I used to come here all the time when I was a kid back then management would have worked something out.

My daughter. Loved skating because that is what she loves to do but had problems with other kids. Saying smart stuff to her out on the floor I thought that was wrong when they couldnt skate good themselves and i the staff had a problem with my daughter charging her phone was told to go out front to charge it and pay a dollar to do so and there was no air conditioning. Up front and I just bought a pair of skates there and payed over a hundred dollars for them and then they are worried. About her phone and I think there drinks are over priced cups are to small then a dollar refill. Sorry Kates

This is a great skating rink to bring your family. Its affordable and they have a lot of games for your kids to play. They have affordable party packages to purchase if youre interested in having your kids birthday party or even a family get together.

It was a fun time and the prices are reasonable. The place is a bit run down on the inside, and the parking lit had a lot of potholes. I would come back again, as I did have a lot of fun with my niece!

Great place to take the family on a hot summer day when you dont want to be outside but want to still do something somewhat active. Also fairly cheap for a family outing we spent right around $20 on 4 people for over 2 hours of fun. Kids had a blast definitely coming back soon.

To skate here is great. The music should be updated and catered to everyone. But overall the staff tries their best to keep up the facility and keep everyone. The games they do with the children are remarkable I wish every skate building did this. Keep up the great work.

Good place to go skate with a little arcade, birthday areas and play place for the kids. There is gun all in the carpet and overall the place feels a bit dirty. Some of the games in the arcade didnt work and either just took your money/tokens or didnt give tickets. What do you expect though, lol.

There has been a couple occurrence of inappropriate behavior from some kids and reported to management and nothing was done about it. Mangement would not speak to the offenders. I know this for fact becsuse i watched to see if it was handled and nothing

The skating ring should be a good place for the kids to skate and you should feel safe that your kids are in a good environment and we improve this place

This place is awesome! I got to skate and get some pizza. (Which by the way was AWESOME!). Overall a great experience with friendly staff and delicious pizza. My only complaint is that it feels a bit outdated. It needs a renovation. Besides that, I had so much fun and this is a go-to place for get togethers and parties!

Its not just skating. It has an arcade with tickets to redeem for prizes and a play-gym area similar to what you would see at McDonalds (but with a rope swing). My daughter was only 2 so the other attractions were great. We will definitely be back.

Took my kids skating at this location and used our Kids Skate Free Passes. This place is great! Very clean rink, with friendly accommodating staff. My kids love the pizza. We will definitely be returning.

Couldnt hear music, only had 1 or 2 speakers playing, floor is uneven and they had the air on freeze

Took me and my grand kids ages 9 and 3 on a Thursday. They close early for the roller derby girls to come in and practice. Also they charge $5 or $10 a hour for the little thing that helps assist beginner skaters. That really adds up. Bring the kiddie rink back or make that free for beginners! Other than that nice recreational activity for me and my grands
