My 15 year old son and I came out here to fish. He caught something. I sat in the shade. We had fun. Its free and really large. Lots of shade trees. But no fishing in the shade.

Great view. Nice place. Beautiful Lake. But structure could be better. No water available for drink. No restrooms (that I have seen)

The city should put it up better, and no matter if they charge, it would be better instead of closing

Nice spacious area, easy to find a spot to setup your picnic.This park does include:- Kids playground- Bbq grills- plenty of space and trees for lounging- Lots of parking ( gravel and grass )This park doesnt have :- Boat ramp- Restrooms or porta potty- Street lights, so it gets pretty darkBe aware to drive slow after it rains, the road isnt paved, so the rain can create uneven terrain and a bumpy ride, however you will still be a able to drive on it with any car as long as you take caution. This is the only improvement I would highly suggest for the development of this park

I live in the neighborhood and looks like they’re closing it down. Which is sad bc it was easy access for our family, however I’m glad bc there was lots of noise and litter due to the inconsiderate people who would be there. This people also caused a lot of noise pollution and speed down the single road to get to it. Glad they’re gone but the neighborhood lost a park bc of it. Shameful.

My kids are easy to please and love this location to wade and swim in the water for FREE. They play with the sand and enjoy the waves from boats and jet skis. Great place for a family cookout! They have a lot of mature trees for good shade, a well covered gazebo and a park that’s partially shaded.

Beautiful family place, very laid back and relaxing. Perfect place to take a load off and relax by the water.

This place is great and close to home but just found out that the city of Garland will be closing it next week. Very sad news today, June 24th, 2020. Parks and rec guy said people didnt keep it clean when they visited.

Didnt even know it was here, we had fun playing in the water, get there early for best spot.. gets alittle deep the further you go out from shore ..

It would be really nice if the people itself clean up after themselves even if theres trashcan visible lots of people just trash the lovely place.

Very relaxing place to come swim and grill with your family but alcohol is prohibited. Nonetheless, it is a great lake to visit.

Couldnt give 5 stars because we didnt explore the area. We just made a pit stop to stretch our legs. But the site is beautiful. I loved the view.

It deserves the five starsI’m there every day with the 29.99 $ planSuper clean with the latest equipment they have air hose beside the vacuum.Unlimited Free towels .My car is super clean with shiny tires and sparkling glass.You don’t even have to wipe your car after each wash .There was a machine to wash the floor mates but it is not there anymore.I am missing it badly.I hope they can bring it back.Friendly professional people working there .

I go here when I really need do focus and get peace of mind. The gazebo gives a great view of the lake and being able to walk the shore and skip rocks is always a very relaxing thing to do. Theres actually a secret spot tucked off away from the lake that people dont know about. Good fishing in that part, but not so much in the lake itself from the human interaction on the edge of the water.

They closed it down probably due to covid didnt think it would take long thats the one place we could go to get out of the house.

This lake is one of the reasons I live in Garland, Texas! It is a world class place like no other! There are activities for all types and all ages. It is a marvel and so easily accesible. Great facilities as well as picnic areas! Great view from any angle and you can actually bring your own surfing equipment! Fun, fun, fun!!!

You know, coming back from a vacation with a 4 star hotel with 2 pools. I loved this place. Parking was way too crowded and people suck at driving, but nice facilities for an out-of-the-way, family, sandy river-type experience.

The lake is low...but the city of Garland keeps this place clean and safe!

Good place to have a cookout and swim. Family friendly place and I recommend you go when there aren’t many people around because it sure does get crowded especially during a holiday.

Really pretty, but people leave it filthy and it doesnt seem to be cleaned regularly. Pretty sure my bf and I stumbled onto some people doing drugs, but cannot confirm.

Though its nice to have a park to cool down in the summer... Youll want to bring water shoes. There are rocks around and GLASS, lots and lots of glad particles walking up and in the shower line.

Beautiful view of water...clean .... however had a little problem with people not having their dogs properly contained...especially around kids playground...

Nice place but a lot of people were out leaving trash everywhere. Portopotties were unusable.On my walk around the park I saw new trash, plus old trash, meaning people going are consistently trashing the place.

Its was ok the kids loved it simply because it was the lake however there was glass all over the place so we had to avoid several spots and the people that were there were loud and vulgar I know its a public park/lake but not really the type of place you would take your children back to if the glass on the ground wasnt enough to not make me take my children back the trash being all over the place will all n all they need to clean up better out there

Need to have porta potties cleaned more regularly on the weekend for guests other than that wonderful place to visit.

Ive been coming here for 15 years or so and it used to be a lot nicer, but the crowd that comes out on the weekends has gotten rougher over the years, and at times there is a lot of glass in the water.

One of my favorite places

This is a decent park given that its in a large city. It does tend to get crowded over the summer so if you plan on going, get there early to secure a good spot to throw down a blanket and set up shop. The people are usually friendly, there are times that Ive encountered the less than reputable characters with lower than standard morals. Do pay attention to where you set up shop, there are lots of debris from lazy people that cannot clean up before they leave. The only downside is the trash tends to pile up, not from lack of services from the Parks Dept, just simply due to lazy people.

All good except for the porta potties need to be cleaned and dealt with immediately, just pure laziness not getting that done, they take care of everything else.The porta potties are full to the lid with waste, and it looks like someone smeared poop all over the inside of them. Absolutely deplorable.

Its clean and the playground may be small but it is great for both little and big kids

Very nice place to enjoy a little family time. Lots of room to enjoy a picnic and relax to the view of a beautiful lake while the kids run around and burn off energy at the playground or riding their bikes or even playing a little basketball. Lots to do here

This park is absolute garbage, drugs, alcohol, gangs and fighting. We found multiple used condoms on the ground, the beach was littered with beer bottles and trash, and there were lots of little bags all over the ground that one could easily assume at one time they were filled with drugs. I wouldnt recommend taking your family to this park and if you do it would be best to leave before it gets to late. My family and I RAN out of there around 6:00 and if now after our recent experience we wont be back! Go to this park at your own risk.
