Nice square with interesting shops and restaurants with outdoor seating. Very enjoyable when the weather is nice! Small park within walking distance, for after a yummy Brunch!
Space walk is a fun thing to do. Just under 2 miles total and theres playgrounds, benches, signs to read, and its a surprisingly quiet and secluded walk through the trees.
The Downtown Gainesville Square is a great place to visit with something for everyone. From nationally recognized sandwiches, sports bars, delicious pizza, international food,, craft beers and wine tasting to dress shops, beauty salons and a barber. You can grab a book, view some art or just sit in the shade and enjoy the scenery. There is a self guided walking tour of a scale model of our solar system and historic buildings and monuments to see and learn from. A block outside of the square you have Federal and County Cout Houses, escape rooms, dance studios, rock & roll dinners and one of the best burgers in Hall County. Plenty if free parking and ample space to stay social distant, yet social.
Small hometown feel. Diners, restaurants, bars, shops all line it and the adjoining streets. We sat in the middle of the square and enjoyed love music from outside one of the establishments.
Good shops and places to eat. Parking deck helps due to parking in the square always full. Nice people and good vibes.
Beautiful space, relaxed pace, great place to unwind during visit.
Always fun and a lot of good places to eat. I highly recommend the following: atlas pizza, Lunas, Scotts, college grill and avocados.
Two months new to Gville, quite charming actually.
Love this quaint friendly square.
Love this place people are the best
Them shops should b more dog friendly & put some water out n a bowl would b appreciated
Beautiful little park. They were there disinfecting the benches while we were there.
If you come at the right time, youll be able to see lots of dogs, meet amazing people, and possibly try a new activity that someone brought. Its very peaceful to me.
Nice little square qith restaurants and bars within walking distance
Old Joe is a historical Land mark. Answer vibe the 1936 tornado that hit Gainesville Georgia.
Cool hangout spot to eat/drink and shop.
Love this downtown area. Nice shops and restaurants and just places to walk and visit with family and friends. Its dog friendly and you can enjoy a beer or wine outdoors while youre there
Clean peaceful place to bring the family
Only being able to park for two hours in most spots within walking distance of a park/square thats built to be walked leisurely is quite annoying to deal with. It makes it hard to spend the day enjoying the art installments, eating food, and browsing the shops.
Its Close to home. A very relaxing environment to be around rather your walking around the square or just setting on the beaches. I enjoy window shopping lol!!
Got a fantastic hair cut at Hair Shack by Ralph! Needs more parking.
Lots of cute stores and great places to eat. Well kept and pretty.
Gainesville has done a fantastic job with the aesthetics of the Square & surrounding areas. Its funny, but the Square used to be a Circle decades ago (for grins, google some old Gainesville photos from back in the day)..
Lots of things to do and places to go
Love my town
Very cool plaza! Lots of interesting universe facts and great restaurants.
Great place to hangout
To crowded with few masks or social distance.
Honestly, its horrible these days. There arent many good places on the square anymore. There are some, but theyre limited. Just not a wide variety of shops and places are constantly closing/going out of business.
Beautiful traditional town square with lots of unique shops and excellent restaurants.
Its a great place to take friends. Plenty to eat, and a great place to play Pokemon Go.
Love how close in proximity every thing is but way to many hipsters
Pretty and nice little spot to walk and chat with friends grab a frosty adult beverage at the shops or a warm coffee . Dont forget to check out the best pizza in town at atlas pizza
The Gainesville Square is a relaxing place to sit and enjoy a coffee from Inman Perk, which is right across the street. If youre hungry, Atlas Pizza has great pizza! Avocados, and Sweet Magnolia Cafe, are always good as well. A number of other restaurants are also right nearby.Ample free parking is 50 yards away in a 7 story parking garage that connects to Brenau University. There is also free parking all around the perimeter of the square, but it tends to stay pretty full.
Love the square. Fun and relaxing. Great place to meet people.
Love the square its great for shoping and restaurants and night life
I went to the park and i found my wife cheating. worst day of my life.
Awesome place for mule camp and venders... Had a good time

Plugs to keep things charged, pokemon gyms, places to eat, pet friendly, free parking deck so always somewhere to park.
Nice town square area with cute shops and good restaurants!
Very nice weather, crowds not very big. Plenty of benches to sit and chat. Restaurants open. No loose dogs. It was very nice. Question: how come there were no African-Americans there... Only 4/5, because we had no music, on Friday night. Thanks.
Clean, safe, good food and shopping selection.
I love the square. The city takes great care of downtown Gainesville, including the square and trails that are very close to the square. There is a great atmosphere in the area. They also provide the public with bags to dispose your dogs waste helping keep the city as clean as possible.
Great area of town. Good places to eat. Usually run into friends.
Went there for the fair had a great time
My wife daughter and I went to a dog show there. We had a lot of fun
Cool place, esp at Halloween!
Its like heaven on Earth
I like the place and I had some peanuts and I walked around the square and look at all the vegetables and meats and stuff and jewelry that they had which is really cool...
Everyone that we meet in the Gainesville square was so nice. Love Southern hospitality.
The Square is really pretty at night. My wife and I like to go for walks out there and evangelize.
