Everything at this park seems well maintained except the bathrooms and the fence has many splinters. And dont care for the choice of ground covering on the playground or the rocks in the splash pad. Its a headache having to keep the kids out of them. Kids love rocks! Pretty but dumb idea.
My two boys both love this park ages 2 and 8.During the summer we go to cool off on the splash pads. There is one for ages 4 and under and one for about 5 an above. During the winter we play on the park toys and check out the bridge with the waters.Only word of advice it is located in a neighborhood so 4 legged friends come out to play without there owners. My 2 year old loves the random dogs but i have seen children scared of them.
Over all great place and its free! Needs more seating for parents at the splash pad. Would be nice if parents could keep their kids at the splash pad and not getting the playground wet. Took my toddler to the playground and 5 or 6 soaking wet kids came over to the playground. Yes, Im that parent.
I love my hometown park... tons of memories made here!!!
This park has a really nice splash pad and also a parkfor all ages
Great place to take ur kids and let them run off some energy. They love the plat ground equipment
We love our park! Just needs to be upgraded a little for the children.
Very open space with clear visibility. Theres a fun stream that is kept clean and lots of space for energetic kids and young adults to have fun. Picnics would be lovely here, or small get togethers!
Great game we won 11 to 5
My niece loves this place
My son always has fun. Always clean and well keep. Plenty of other kids to play/socialize with.
Judged a Wonderful BBQ competition held by KCBS and the Glencoe Fire Dept to raise money to provide a Christmas for those who might not get one. #glencoefiredept #KCBS#smokingnthepark2019 #backyardbbq #certifiedjudge - park itself is very quaint and full of mature trees. Splash pad fenced in play area for the kids is a nice little gem.
Great park for little ones.
Wonderful clean park to take your kids for a lot of fun
Nice place to go and have a picnic and let the children play.
The town had community day it was awesome and free.
It truly is tragic that the City of Glencoe took away the public pool that was here when I was a kid. Why was this done? I heard that it was because of blacks coming and using the pool. I dont know if I believe that. It isnt difficult to imagine though. Im just going by the source. If thats the truth, SHAME ON THE LITTLE CITY OF GLENCOE.I grew up here as did my son who had a great experience here. So, I again say that the pool at Wilson Park was a fabulous thing. It had to bring a lot of revenue to Glencoe, regardless of the color of the spender! Money is money!
Neat park. We went for a barbecue cook off. Plenty room. Had ball fields playground for the kids. Decent restrooms. The area that the barbecue cook off was in was a little confusing to get into but we made it. They need to put up some more signs so folks will know how to get in. GPS will take you to the wrong side of the park.
Loved watching my grandsons play butthe restroom are pitiful. For a city facility its poorly conceived
Sister in law rented the splash pad for a birthday party on a Sunday afternoon. Splash pad was locked as were the bathrooms. When we called to have the area unlocked they were unable to get a hold of apparently the one and only city employee with a key. I’m sure she’ll get a refund but that doesn’t really make up for ruining two kids (it was a combined party for two brothers) birthdays.Update they arrived finally at 6:10 with a key. Still..... come on.
My daughter loves thatpark
Ive been going to this park since I was a child. Its kept up with the times and offers a place, for children of all ages, to play in a safe, clean, and maintained playground. There are softball and baseball fields for kiddy ball to high school children. In the summer time, kids can play in the sprinkler get wet area where you can cool off when temperatures rise. I was just an observer 3 days ago( my dads girlfriend lives directly in front of the park in Glencoe, where I could observe people that gathered there, while we ate supper. There were so many nice local people there and from what I observed, the children are safe with lots of adults there, whether they are exercising or supervising. I would recommend Wilson Park for enjoyment for everyone... for good, clean, fun! :)
