Shenandoah Valley Golf Club catered our wedding at another venue. Janet took care of all of the coordination and made everything perfect! SVGC setup, cooked, served, and cleaned up efficiently. The food was amazing! Chef Dan worked with us to create delicious soups and grilled cheeses that had all of our guests going for second servings. We will definitely use them again for catering.

They hosted the unofficial Senior prom for the 2020 seniors for both High Schools. Janet and her assistant (event staff) working there were amazing and allowed volunteers to help with decorating, serving, and clean up to help save money.I believe everyone had fun. It was a beautiful evening and Shenandoah Valley Golf Club made it great! Thank you

I play this course once per year and if I lived closer it would be much more. The course layout is great and through rolling hills. Not a super tough course but enough to keep you honest. We played the Blue/Red layout and the tee boxes, fairways and greens were all in excellent condition and the roughs were enough to let you know when you were in them that you should not be.This is probably the best conditioned course, overall, I have played in Virginia this year, easily. At then end of the round they have this big fire pit to sit around and enjoy talking smack about the hits made and perceived to have made as well as those that got away. Very nice touch to the end of the round.Highly encourage playing all 27 holes if you are up for it. It will be well worth it.

They were having a golf tournament on 18 of the 27 holes of their course today, so understandably are asking groups not in the tournament to go around the “blue” course twice to make 18 holes. As we come to the end of the 9th hole, not only is the group in front of us waiting on the 10th tee (which is really #1 on the blue course again) but an additional FOUR groups are all waiting in line to tee off in what amounts to the middle of our round. Because rather than space out reservations based on the limited availability of the golf course that day due to tournament play, they opted to just throw everyone on the same 9-hole course at the same time and let everyone who went out early deal with the nearly hour-long delay the bottleneck caused between our 9th and 10th holes.This is not only poor planning but, frankly, rude to let all these groups out onto the course in the middle of other customers’ rounds. It’s the equivalent of taking reservations for 100 for a restaurant that seats 50 and then telling half the people they would have to wait.Also a nice touch was the sign on the door mandating that face masks are required, which I support completely, but then once inside, four employees are all standing shoulder to shoulder without a mask to fight over between them.It comes as no surprise that logic isn’t dictating the behavior of the people in charge here.

This place is great. The scenery is spectacular.

Visiting from Minnesota. Absolutely gorgeous course. Very inexpensive too. Friendly staff. Beautiful greens, fairways, tee boxes. Can’t speak highly enough. Very well maintained.

We had a nice time. Tge kids played. The music and the food very tasty. Especially liked the artican grilled cheese sandwiches .

Plenty of tee times but would prefer them spaced a little farther apart. Ended up waiting on a group that was waiting on a group which held up the group behind us. Lots of sand EVERYWHERE. And whats up with no bathrooms on the front nine of blue?? Come on! Clearer signage on where to go to check in would also be nice. Holes werent terribly difficult which is a good thing for me.

Play Bowling Green insteadAwful customer service experience here which stinks because the course is actually really nice. Playing as the first group out and as we finished our first 9 at 2:05 the ranger comes over and first asks us to play the same 9 again and when we said no acts like he’s doing is a favor to let us play another 9. Then he tells us to work on our pace even though we finished the first 9 ten minutes under pace. Because they had loaded pairs behind us they were backed up which isn’t our problem. As we start the second nine he comes by AGAIN and when I ask what pace should be mumbles something. Basically they packed the course and us playing below pace still wasn’t fast enough. We ended up playing 18 on 3:53 (40 minutes below recommenced pace) and when we talked to the pro weren’t offered anything for essentially ruining the middle half of our round. Would’ve considered again if they’d made it right but no notion of that so we’ll play bowling green from now on.

Excellent place to play. They were so busy and handled it very well. Course was in excellent condition.

Im only giving it one star because of the incredibly rude worker that came literally screaming at us to get back on the cart path on a par-3... we had seen many people driving on this par3 and thought it was ok. Here comes a worker (who drove across the par-3) to scream at us to get our carts back on the path right now... we were paired up with a foreign couple that was extremely nice but didnt quite understand english. The man of the group smile a lot... well, this worker screams at him that its not funny and hell have him thrown out if he doesnt get back on the course immediately. The mans wife was very upset and wanted to leave- we were able to talk them in to staying and finishing the round with us. If this wouldve been my wife, this SVGC worker would still be laying there on the Par-3...

Three nine holes make for a varied experience. Staff is friendly and the short course will challenge your shot making skills. Spring of 2020 and the course is in Great shape.

Was recommended this course from one of the pros at my club in MD. 10/10 would recommend and play again. Great layout and extremely reasonably priced. Great for beginners and single digit handicappers alike.

I really like the 27 holes at Shenandoah Valley GC, especially the challenging greens and elevation changes. The courses policy to partner me on a cart with someone i didnt ride with during the COVID crisis will keep me from going back until the recommended social distancing rules are relaxed. I understand that they have a cart shortage and maybe wont buy new ones only to be stuck paying the maintenance when demand eases, so I walked it last time. It was good for me but not exactly the experience I was after. If you arent in hill walking shape early and want to adhere to the current social distancing norms, I recommend playing elsewhere for a while.

THIS PLACE IS WHY GOLF COURSES SHOULD BE CLOSED DURING THE COVID 19 SITUATION.400 PPL BOOKED TO PLAY WITH NO CARTS LEFT.INSIDE THE CLUB HOUSE THERE WAS 30 PPL WITH NO MASKS. OUTSIDE THE DOOR 45 PEOPLE ARE STANDING AROUND ON TOP OF EACH OTHER. ITS ONE THING TO TRY AND GOUGE AS MUCH MONEY FROM PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE BUT TO PUT PEOPLE IN DANGER BY HAVING OVER 400 PEOPLE IN ONE AREA IS JUST PUTTING PEOPLE IN DANGER. ABSOLUTELY ABSURD TO HAVE TEE TIMES THAT CLOSE. I WILL BE CALLING AND WRITING THE GOVERNORS OFFICE EVERYDAYSHAME ON YOU SVALLEY

My wife played there for the 1st time. She loved it. It was a rainy day, but crowded. Food was good, starter was funny, help was great just to talk to. We will be back with friends in the near future

Very nicely kept up course. Fairways Tee Boxes and Greens very good to excellent condition. Course is average difficulty. Almost all holes have elevation up and down. Most holes are wide also. 3 9 hole courses. We played Blue-White. Excellent value at $35.00

If you are looking for a local venue to host your event or wedding, Shenandoah Valley Golf Club is incredible. We held a fundraising banquet for Young Life last night and got to experience the amazing staff and catered dinner. The events room is wall to wall with windows looking out into breathtaking mountain views. Highly recommend picking this venue!

Great course. Green fees are fair and the the staff is awesome.

I currently only take private lessons here so I can not speak to the course just the lessons. The lessons are well taught and use a hardware and software combination that assists greatly (TrakMan or something). All in all coaching is one on one. Its quite exclusive because you are in a little garage (you still hit directly onto the driving range out the open garage door its not against a fake screen or anything) so when you shank one out no one can see you to know who did it.Good times.

Had our wedding reception here! Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful throughout our big day. We recommend any event to be held here!

I went to my friends wedding, which had an outdoor ceremony. The microphones and speakers didnt work consistently, so we couldnt hear the ceremony. There wasnt an option for shade. The chairs werent big enough for many of the guests and were pushed tightly next to each other, so everyone was touching. In the middle of the ceremony, golfers rolled up to hole next to us.It was the worst wedding ceremony Ive been to:- packed like sardines- in tiny, uncomfortable chairs- in direct sunlight for an hour with no shade nearby- couldnt hear my friend get married- people were golfing right next to the bridal partyThe indoor reception was nice, and the back deck has a beautiful view. +1 star for those.

Beautiful venue but they need an A-1 chef to match. Food is mediocre at best. Have been there for several group luncheons. Serve only sweet tea. Why not unsweetened also. Note: I posted this several weeks ago and they called and explained that the group requests country food but that they do have other more healthful and modern choices.

Awesome golf course. Great condition and not much trouble to hit your ball into. Yardage is not super long from back tees. Nice grill to relax at after the round. Had a great time playing this golf course.

Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Staff is very friendly and attentive. So attentive that you need to keep your drink with you at all times or it will be cleaned up :-)

The course was in great shape but the noise on every hole was a bit much..mowers usually stop while your hitting a shot but I guess they dont here

You cant beat this course for the money and Its fun no matter what your skill level is. They take good care of it in the summer time and the greens roll nicely when maintained. They have 27 holes on the property with the white nine being the easiest and the reds being the hardest. (Just my opinion)

You arrive at a very beautiful layout and clubhouse to a perfect course setup. We had two foursomes who had just played Rock Harbor that Friday and Saturday. This was more than a cherry on top of our weekend of golf. The starter was helpful and dripped southern charm allowing us to get out a bit early. Course was in great sharp, though that rough was close to US Open cut on depth and a good club to club 1/2 extra to get out of it. Play was smooth and a nice 4 hours with no complaints outside of those wayward shots we all have. Food in the clubhouse was basic offerings, but top quality and service, plus very low priced. $7 for eggs, hash browns, bacon (lots) and toast fresh cooked. Definitely will plan to get back next year.

Loved this course for 30+ years! May be time to evaluate the tree growth, as it is impacting several tee shots. Staff is very friendly and accommodating.

Course is in great shape however they are booking tee times ways too close together. There were 3 groups on 1 tee box. Very slow to play and quite frustrating.

Early in the season but a nice course, especially for a casual golfer.

Love this place! Golf is good and the course is always in excellent condition. The staff is always nice and helpful. The grill room staff is fast, nice, and the food is always great.

For a public, local course, its in very good shape and very playable, especially for the great price. Perfect for mid-handicappers, fun enough for low handicappers. No frills -- show up, tee up, and off you go, just like I like it. Not going to blow your socks off with difficult shots/holes, though a handful of blind shots require prior knowledge for scoring. For someone driving out from DC, its worth the effort once or twice a year for a fun round and post-round Chick-fil-A. Cows were very rude, though, and mooed in my backswing multiple times.

Reasonable price, good layout (tight fairways and relatively small greens). Course in general was in good shape except for a couple bunkers that played is if they where concrete. All in all worth playing

We had our wedding here last weekend, all I can say is perfect. The venue is beyond gorgeous, and Janet is such a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend this venue!!!!

Shenandoah Valley GC has 3 sets of nine holes of varying difficulty so this is the perfect course for people at all levels of play. Beautiful mountain views and great layout. My husband and I are playing this course more often now that South Wales GC near Warrenton has permanently closed.

Well worth the drive from Northern VA. Great staff and the courses are always in good shape.
