Havent been here in a while but its a great experience
...we attended the gala opening evening of my brother Gary Geigers photography exhibition...the food and beverages served were fabulous, the new exhibits beautifully set up...museum is top notch!
Really awesome artwork here. Its very clean and the staff was very friendly. If youre looking gor an inexpensive way to view some really cool are, this is it!
I’m sorry Fresno. You’re kind of depressing. I’m trying not to judge but...And surely there are some lovely parts of you. I found one I love. Your Art Museum. Small and unpretentious. My first visit a couple of years ago I was a little put off by the unsavory characters hanging around the parking lot but once inside was blown away by the exhibit. This visit happened to be on a Family Day so there was a food truck, music and kids everywhere. The main exhibit was closed due to the fragile nature of the exhibit and...children. Ah well, I still got to see one exhibit by Jenne Giles that I thought was brilliant. Bravo for having such a thing as Family Day! And for putting on such amazing Fiber Art exhibits.****************************************************************************I’m learning life in my van “Belle” is quite different from life in a trailer which is much more sticks and bricks like with running water and a bathroom and a fridge! Van life is bare bones yet much freer. It’s a road trip every day! I’m sure there will be days when that just loses its appeal entirely but for now it feels grand.
This museum has local art of our history. Very informative and friendly staff ready to answer all your question. One of Fresnos best museums.
I went with my first grade son on a field trip. My son loved the hands on activity they did with him but became bored and a bit restless during the rest of the field trip. Their options for young students are limited, a bit more movement would be nice. Other than that the place is lovely and the staff does an amazing job at kindly reminding guest about the rules. I will reinstall visit again.
We visited today for family day. I have 3 little ones and this was all of our first time here. Along with my moms. The ladies at the front desk as well as the crafts area were welcoming. The security on the other hand were bothersome. One of the security guards made “mean” faces to my son and I’m assuming his boss wasn’t very kid friendly. Every where we went with my kids there was always a security guard behind us as if we were up to no good. This made me feel very uncomfortable and is the reason we cut our first and LAST visit short.
Its a small museum but they have beautiful exhibits!
Number one rule is to stay three feet away from all art (believe me, you want to because theres some that are sharp), #2 no touching any art, #3 no pointing, again keeping your distance even including your arms reach, #4 no pictures (or flash photography - same thing). Theres so much to see and its all organized. Questions are happily answered, theres so much to learn. Lines, Colors, Shapes (keywords).
Lucky for us we stopped in on a family day. The exhibits were interesting -- they included ancient sculptures from Mexico, unique fiber art pieces and detailed fantasy drawings created with colored pencils. Families were able to create their own art, too. Materials were provided to make worry dolls, yarn designs, and images that used cards. This museum has something for everyone and is definitely a Fresno gem.
Family day is a great opportunity to experience the FAM and take your kids
Sign up and go to events like family night. Love the revolving galleries.
Beautiful museum
It was a nice art museum. It was reasonable priced and their was less people. We could enjoy it more. It was so big that it become boring. It was and enjoyed the art.
Small museum exhibiting modern fine art and a sculpture garden. The exhibition is not permanent, with artists work rotated reguralry.
Great small art museum.
The outside is kind of deceiving because of the sketchy area. But once you are inside it is very beautiful! There isnt much because of the small building compared to other large museums, but ok for Fresno. Parking is good and it is right next to an open park. I just didnt like the homeless around the area. Other than that it is well done!
Watched a wonderful Stageworks play and enjoyed the galleries as well.
The permanent collection of MesoAmerican art is intriguing.
This small but surprising museums main exhibit was a collection of Nicolas Murray photographs of Frida Kahlo that focused on her life with Nicolas, and Diego Rivera, plus an engrossing video of her life. Just this one exhibit was well worth the low admission price, plus the other exhibits on the Aztec, Maya and Inca displays were outstanding.
I went on a feild trip here and It had amazing art. The tour guide was nice and helpful. Although, I didnt like the part of the field trip where they gave us so little time to draw. In my opinion art should not be rushed.
Decent spacious museum with a nice auditorium and open art space. Artwork could have been more impressive and carefully selected. Although they change it out during the year so depending upon when you visit you may find items more interesting. Visited on a field trip and the experience (due to the staff) was stressful. Lots of yelling and dont’s directed at the children. We were not made to feel very welcome there. My children love museums, but unfortunately this is not one that we will frequent often. I would suggest putting down a strip of tape or some other material as a guide for where they would like the children to walk. The students were following their directions but were still uneccessarily redirected. Offer more praise for the things they are doing right along with your constant commands.
Very nice place. Its amazing how beautiful and interesting The Fresno Art Museum is. I recommend to go visit you will not regret it.
Nice place to see some new crazy weird art.
Went for a field trip with my sons school, we loved it wish we had more time to view everything. Cant wait for family day on December 9th.
This is such a great museum to visit. I really felt welcomed by the staff, who are very knowledgeable about the artworks and artists. I recommend to come and visit this wonderful and friendly art museum.
They have a really great photography exhibit and an awesome tapestry exhibit, but I only have it 3 stars because of all of the great museums Ive seen in Europe and the United States, it just doesnt compare
Ok exhibit. Not real impressive!
My wife and I went here to watch the Season 3 premier of Victoria. I didnt get a chance to look at the exhibits but the theater is pretty cool, and I am definitely going to come back to see what they have on display.
So amazing! Worth your time.
Fresnos hidden work of art. Amazing collection of pieces, including an original Diego Rivera. Not the best neighborhood after dark, but a great place to visit during the day or for an event in the evening. Exhibits change every 6 months.
Small museum but wonderful are inside!
Im a member of the FAM, but this time we went to see a show in the Bonner Auditorium/Theatre. Stageworks Fresno put on the production of The Fantastic, directed by J. Daniel Herring. Such a great combination of talent and design!
Nice place in a rough area, but very safe great art work. I recommend this place if youre ever in the area.
Love the pokie stops...HO TEAM VALOR!! POKEMON ROCKS
This gem is amazing with its collection of art and exhibits. Not a large overwhelming museum. Rather, one where you can go slowly and absorb what the artist is expressing.
This is a great place to see different modes of art. There is also a spot for Mexican artifacts.
I was there for a business presentation. did not have much time to visit the gallery, but briefly it looks interesting. I would like to come back to visit
Hate the park but otherwise its ok
I love the mixture of media they have on display. I went to see photos of the famous artist Frida. I love her work. The price was very good at 5 dollars.
Love the family days and permanent exhibit.
A great little gem
Nice exhibits and sculpture garden. I liked Maurice Cohen exhibit the best

Beautiful unique art exhibits and occasionally the home of some AMAZING theatre!
My personal favorite museum. One of the largest collections of Pre-Columbian Ceramic Effigies. Yes thats 2000 years before Christ, (2000 BC).
Great olace for a field trip.
