This place is amazing. Great selection they had everything i needed to build my gaming collection and they are still adding more items to help your game room look awesome. Ever since I found this place i stopped going to gamestop for used games. This place is a must go and the employees are really nice!

Absolutely love this place! They have retro games, new games, trading card games, comics....they have a little bit of everything AND they even repair game consoles!! Best part though, you can go in to hang out if you choose to, theres no pressure to buy anything. Sage definitely has an excellent shop here & Ill recommend his place to anyone.

I am not a serious gamer but I came by this store today to purchase a few items for my son (a PS2 and some GBA games). The man behind the counter went out of his way to find what I needed and offered it for a great price. Amazing customer service, great selection (as far as I can tell), and honest prices. Easy 5 stars! Will visit again.

It was a nice place. Had a wide variety of games and cards. Prices were very reasonable. I wish they would do online orders too and be able to view whats in stock before you go. If they had online tourist like me would buy a lot more games.

Oh let me tell you about this place. I was referred cause I was trying to find parts for my GameCube that I couldnt find any other place. They went out of there way to get everything I needed. I will go back when I need more games. The staff was awesome. I highly recommend this place if you are trying to vintage games and parts. Right now Im reliving my child hood with a stack of Zelda games for my GameCube thanks to them. Go check them out please.

I was looking for Basketful of Heads issue 2, which was sold out of the first two stores I went to. Sage was sold out also, BUT the comic guy gave me his issue! It was the nicest customer service I’ve ever experienced. And he convinced me to buy another similar volume of a different comic. I was impressed and appreciated his help!

I went in just to see what it was about and was not disappointed. They rent computers for gaming as well as sell comics and games. I didnt think I was going to get anything but I ended up buying a comic. When I was checking out the owner was very friendly and offered to get more of that series if I liked it. The prices are very, very competitive. They also have a cat.This place has my buisness from now on.

They took in mike from little fish comics when his previous renter tried to up the rent. That makes them awesome in my book! Now I can go play games, buy retro games, and pick up my comics all in one swoop! Awesome people!

Honestly one of the best shops I’ve ever had the pleasure of coming across. Their stock is varied and constantly changing . Besides having many classic titles, I love the disc buffing service that is offered as well. For a few bucks, you can get disc scratches and damages repaired. I’ve had more than one game disc brought back to life with this service. Sage, the owner is very hospitable and down to earth. I live over 30 minutes away, but I have no problem making the drive because of my love for the store. I can’t say enough good things about this place, everyone should stop by at least once.

Really good. Through staff. Always have a good time when I come in. Usually there for retro games, has a bigger collection then most retro places. Prices are competitive with gamestop retro online. Sage will match the price 10% lower on the gamestop price tag if they are the same or lower.

The place to go for retro video games as well as current systems, comics and some popular trading card games. They host tournaments for Tekken, Smash Bros, Yugioh and Pokemon. The staff and owner are awesome and willing to help with anything they can.

Theres no other place that has a better variety of games and collectibles. You can enjoy a trip to the Past from anything all the way up to even an Atari or you can jump straight into the present and hop right into the most common games from Xbox One or even a PlayStation 4

As mentioned in someone elses review. This place is a complete nostalgia trip. The first time I walked in, I spent like 30-40 minutes looking around at everything they had. As more and more Game Shops like this close, while others are fighting to keep their doors open- Im really glad to see Sage Mantis still doing their thing, and providing a space for gaming communities of all kinds to gather and have some social interaction with like minded individuals.When you support a small independent business like this, you are also helping to support your local community as well. You cannot have the same experience shopping online as you do when coming to Sage. They provide a space for trading card and video game tournaments which is something we see less and less of these days.Overall this place is a really awesome store with lots of products to look over. SOME prices might be a little higher than what you can find on places like Amazon Prime, which you have to pay 13 dollars a month for I might add. You absolutely cannot replicate the joy you feel when walking into this store when you shop online.

It was my second time coming in last week me and my friends came in looking for old ps2 games it was very close to closing when we came in we found some good jems in there he cleaned them up while we waited we looked around it was pass closing and we found more awesome games to buy he let us check them out after 9 very Patient down to earth dude 10/10 they also have a very down to earth cat :)

I went in here on two separate occasions to see if they could resurface an old PS1 game I had. Both times there was literally no one at the store who was an employee, just people sitting around playing video games. I assumed the employee was just taking a lunch break or something, and since it is a video game lounge the store didnt close per se for this break. So, I decided to just come back the next day since my problem wasnt urgent. When I came back, there still wasnt an employee who acknowledged me. I asked a random guy who was just sitting at a nearby table eating Chinese food where the employee was AND HE TOLD ME HE WAS THE OWNER. I had been wandering around the store aimlessly for ten minutes at this point right next to this dude, four minutes of which I was just standing at the cash register, and he was sitting right there the whole time and didnt say anything to me!In terms of the product, the selection is amazing. Any game that you remember from your childhood and wish you had now is probably in this store somewhere, but good luck because you will probably need to search the store yourself to find what you are looking for. A lot of people writing reviews also say that the prices are reasonable or even low, but I would warn a customer who is only looking at Sage Mantis prices that the cost of shopping at this store is very high. Most of the games are priced at the extreme high end of market value for the games, and sometimes just blatantly above the extreme end of market value for that game. I get that the guy needs to make a buck, but maybe he wouldnt need these high prices if he sold things to every willing customer who came through the store. I see a lot of good reviews on here, so I am certain that the owner is a nice person, but damn if he cant be bothered to put his food down to help a new customer out.

Really cool place to visit. You can tell a lot of passion was put into making this. It is a 1/2 arcade 1/2 gaming system store and 100% Nostalgia trip.

Want to start off by saying that its a great place and I love it. That being said when sage is not there and you are not a regular, very poor service.perfect example yesterday I came into the store pick up an item being repaired and purchase a new item. I was in the store and twice and associate walk past me without acknowledging my existence. After 10 minutes of standing at the front counter I was finally asked if I needed any help I responded Yes I am here to pick up an item I had prepared. Approximately 5 minutes later I am handle the item in the gentleman walked away again. I continue to stand at the counter approximately another 15 minutes. For the same gentleman return and asked if he could help me as if you did not see me.

Stopped by while on a road trip. They have Retro games, gaming PC rentals, and tables for card games. Very friendly management. Love it!

Nice guys here. But some items are priced way higher than can be found on Amazon. For instance, gamecube controller adapters for Nintendo Switch were priced at 69$ when they are ~25$ on Amazon.

From the looks of some reviews it appears Im not the only one who was completely ignored during my brief time at this store. I came in about a month ago to browse their retro selection, and before I walked in I saw a short, stocky, bald guy standing outside. From here on forward Ill refer to him as Baby Shoes.I walked into the store and was surprised by how incredibly dusty, dirty, dark, and smelly it was. Imagine the mixture of sweat and taint and youll get the picture. The place looked like it hadnt been cleaned since opening day, not exactly a welcoming environment. On the bright side, I did see a pretty chill-looking cat minding his business, so thats cool. Looked around at the various games and couldnt believe the prices I was seeing, many of the titles were $8-$15 more than their actual value. At this point I realized Id probably hold off on buying anything but still looked around. Meanwhile, not a single person greeted me or asked if I needed anything, probably because I didnt see anyone in the store.Baby Shoes walked back inside, sat down, and started playing a video game while I waited for him to act like I was a potential customer. Never happened. After a few more minutes of browsing I realized Baby Shoes had no desire to complete a sale (seriously, why have a business when you cannot even sum up the energy to act like you care?) and walked out, without a sound from him.Outside of that cat there wasnt a single positive to mention, no reason for me to recommend visiting.

Got the games anyone would love and great service

Plesent experience both times I’ve been in the store. First I wanted to say the owner was upfront and honest with me, I was looking at a copy of Pokémon firered and the game was a bit cheaper then I’ve seen elsewhere so I told him I wanted it and before he even unlocked the case he told me the game was a 3rd party, not original. Now as a collector a 3rd party game is next to useless to me but I decided that sence the owner was upfront and honest with me I was going to buy the game anyway. The next thing I wanted to say was that some reviews say that his pricing is high, but I think those people are the kinds of people that go into GameStop in 2019 with a copy of justdance4 for the wii and expect $30. I find that the prices he has are fair. You have to remember that a lot of what he sells are retro where you can’t really buy these games all that reliably, sure you can buy from GameStop online but if you’re like me manuals and cases are important plus just being able to inspect the game before buying is nice. Support your local gamestore

Thiss a pretty cool place! Theyve got arcade machines, computers, plenty of tabletops, and hundreds of games! Makes me wish I lived closer to the area.

Good store. SNES games can be pricy, but from my experience everything else is pretty cheap, especially handheld games. No imports there, however I have seen a homebrew cart of Megaman and Bass in English. Good Tournaments. They have a good collection of arcade games with only one that doesn’t work, but why have Billy Mitchell on the Donkey Kong one? Wasn’t it proved that he cheated? Also, I think you should get some kind of puzzle arcade game. Maybe Puyo Puyo 2 or Sun, Tetris, Puzzle Fighter, or maybe just get a Neo Geo with Puzzle Bobble and just switch the game every once and a while! Overall, I would say this is a good store with usually cheap prices and many, many different games.

Sage Mantis Game Haven is a spot on name! This place is filled with nice, nerdy people who love Video Games/Card Games/etc. You can go there to do business like fixing your console or PC or trading and selling cards and games. You can even go there just to hang out. It is one of the best places of its kind. My only regret is that I cant go every day. Also, the cat is adorable and precious and beautiful and I just want to pet him all day long.

Very chill atmosphere, and the staff are super friendly. Theyll help you with anything you need and have great deals on just about any kind of games you need. I absolutely love going there. I dont have great internet and they let me bring my consoles in and use their internet. I definitely recommend.

The game selection is great. Sage really knows his stuff. Prices are a little on the high side, but not too bad. Sage usually works out a deal with me when I need one.If I had to critique the store, I would say the video game section could use a better layout. It is a little cramped, but its not too bad.

Game Haven-----------------------Sizable clean collection, but wonky pricing. Good for people looking to ride the nostalgia train, not good for collectors that are aware of going values. Store tries to sell bootleg and fan modded games that are available free digitally or for sale in physical media at a better price and condition from the actual creators of the physical versions. Arcade machines were present, but in order to play them you have to stand in the middle of foot traffic. Bad placement, definitely just there for the wow factor. 0/5 for nostalgia abuse.Tabletop play area is claustrophobic at best. While I was there the card players were squeezing through each other to try and get out of the play area. Tables are so close together it feels like Delta Air was in charge of seating. TCG prices seemed pretty MSRP, but I dont know about individual cards. Not my field. 2/5 for clutter & bare minimum pricingLan center seemed pretty okay. Clean and working at least for the one guy using it. x/5 clean but I didnt use it. No review.Console and disc repair prices are fairly good, but I cant speak to the quality of either. 3/5 for fair prices.& Comics------------------Has a small comic section, but it feels shoehorned in compared to the rest of the store. The space could be better spent expanding the VG section or card game play area so people can walk through comfortably. ?/5 Why even have it?Other------------The register was a nightmare. Games lined the frontside of the register wall preventing customers from approaching too close. There are so many things on display on the counter that you can barely checkout without fear of knocking over some card game tin or action figure. You could barely see the employee when he was behind there and could all but disappear if seated. -5/5Smokers and vapers out front isnt a great look. As I was leaving so too were folks going to smoke. Some dad and his kid were approaching the store but turned around when the group lit their cigarettes right in front of the door. They asked if there was some other place for a particular TCG and I told them of a different place.Given other sub 5 star reviews, I now fully expect the owner to come at me, calling me a liar and all sorts of names before extending the offer to sit down and discuss things over pizza of all things. I dont care for this offer, as I did speak with you in the store and your answers were meek and before rushing off to help the TCG players only to stand near them silently. Big threats on a keyboard, but no drive to talk to real people. 1/5 customer service online and in person.
