Quality Meals and the scene at this location is great. Do yourself a favor and give this place a try. I will be back with my coworkers. The bill was decent. Menu is similar to a restaurant in El Paso I liked.
The food was decent but the service was terrible. There was apparently a very important family that arrived shortly after we did and our waitress couldnt be bothered to visit our table to provide service more than to just drop our food. She never came to check on us until well after we had finished and our glasses were empty, all of which she could see from the table that seemed to hold such great importance.
Always a delightful experience with fresh gourmet foods served with great presentation... excellent wine... ambiance is quiet sophistication. Its worth skipping the German food!
Food was great. Waiter Joseph was great. Considered giving less stars bc store attendant and manager were wearing some ridiculous mask that only covered a little bit of their face which defeated the purpose. Left other places bc people are either not being safe with any masks or wearing ridiculous short face Shields that dont protect anybody
My wife and I had been told about an exciting lunch opportunity for us by a local shop owner. It was the Vaudeville. We arrived on Tuesday Sept. 29th around lunchtime. We were greeted by a young lady (hostess) with short reddish hair.Immediately, she rolled her eyes, grabbed 2 menus and walked off to a deuce table (half booth half table) and proceeded to haphazardly drop menus and walk off. She now planted herself on the the other side of a six top round and glared at me. Never once did she converse with us, nothing. We just followed from a far since she walked off so quickly.Im sure the incident is on camera. Why was she so unprofessional? She witnessed my political shirt I was wearing and responded to it, thats why.We did not stay nor will we come back. We did mention incident to server on duty who handled our complaint correctly. Server was very nice and apologetic. We are sorry server lost money because of the hostess actions.Wife and I are career industry and we get that team members that work for us can forget proper etiquette and manners when on the clock and require consistent coaching. Unfortunately, guest complaints are part of the coaching sometimes.Just wanted to make sure this was brought to someones attention. We ourselves have a zero tolerance policy to that type of behavior.Good luck on your endeavors!
Good spot for quality meals. Great place to meet and catch up with friends. Really nothing but good experiences here. It has a good atmosphere. Feels similar to a restaurant in New York I liked.
Server Richard was a great guy. While we were waiting for a table he offered us drinks and when I lost my wallet he made sure to return it. Awesome guy who also knows the best local wineries to go to. He’s French so he has a cool accent too! Ask for him to be your server or just ask him for any local advise bc he is the most genuine as they come.
This place was amazing! Cute, romantic, underground setting. Everything was fresh and paired amazing. Asparagus cooked to perfection. The homemade mozzarella was phenomenal! Servers were friendly and prompt. Went there for brunch and the only thing lacking was bloody Marys. They did offer mimosas though. Portions were huge and everything taste amazing. Will definitely be back for dinner next time we are in Fredericksburg!
Dont miss this favorite restaurant in Fredericksburg. Every menu item is special. The service is exemplary and the selections of wine coffee and pastries are phenomenal. The biggest mistake you can make is if you dont visit Vaudeville.
Great place. We were completely taken aback when we walked in off the street into the elegant downstairs bistro. The quiche that I had was savory, the reuben sandwich was hearty and satisfying, and the service was beyond reproach. We will make it a point to take our out of state guests there when we return.
Horrendously rude service. Made a reservation, then 40 minutes later we came to check on it and they said they.never made one for us. The hostess wasnt even apologetic. Implied that we never made the reservation and then rudely refused to take responsibility for some not adding it to the system. The food was limited and mostly its just glorified pizza. So many other stupendous and expertly ran restaurants that could use your money during these hard times. This place is a burning trash dumpster.
Ok place for tasty Quality Meals. good place to hang and eat some good food. the service here is great. prices that are reasonable.
Ever been to a dinner so good you couldnt wait to experience the restaurants brunch menu? We stayed in Fredericksburg for 2 nights & did just that! The entire experience was beyond fantastic. The quality of food, the attention to detail, the high class service from every employee made Vaudeville our new favorite restaurant! Thank you all for the best experience and we cant wait to come back for Supper Club!
All staff wearing masks, felt very comfortable and clean. Really lovely space. French dip sandwich is AMAZING!
Quality meals at this spot - great. Everyone at our table was very satisfied. The service was very friendly and attentive. The bill wont break you. Mood here reminds me of Colorado Springs area.
Due to COVID we had one heck of a wait, but, it was all worth it with the awesome service and the food was incredible. I apologize for not knowing the gentleman’s name who was part owner that was working the bar but he provided an absolute awesome experience! I would highly recommend going but be patient! They are doing their best with what staff they have. Thank you Vaudeville!!!!!!
Food was SO so so good. not sure if we were starving or what, but we DEVOURED everything we had ordered. the french dip sandwich was e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g. im back in chicago and i still cant stop thinking about the food. we had this appetizer with bread (the texture was perfect, the best bread) and it came with some cheese spread, tomatoes, olives, i forgot what its called but holy ish. the place was also very nicely decorated, loved the experience.
Best place in town. Awesome atmosphere, staff, and delicious food. Cant miss!
AMAZING. Intimate. Good food. Lovely environment. Our favorite meal we had while in town.
The menu and atmosphere look great, but the experience we had with the OWNER was appalling. We went downstairs to the bistro to get a glass of wine. Due to social distancing, the bar was limited to two sets of two stools, separated by six feet. There was a gentleman sitting at one of the sets of two stools. He said, “We’re about to leave,” so my husband and I put our hand on the stools while they cleaned up. Another guy came by a few minutes later, and said, “I guess I’ll just leave.” We apologized and told him that another gentleman had left and told us we could have the seats, so we were snagging them while we had the chance. He said, “Oh, you were ‘snagging’ them? Ok, we’ll leave then. Suppose we have no choice”As soon as we sat down a waitress walked by and said, “Was he rude to you? He’s the owner.” I told her what happened, and she said, “the first guy is the other owner. I know he said you could have their seats. I’m really sorry the owner was rude to you. That’s embarrassing.” So, one is nice, the other is a pretentious fop, and apparently the staff expect it. We wanted to come back for dinner, but decided not to, if that’s how the owner treats his customers.I have traveled to 60 countries on the six inhabited continents and never had such service from a hospitality business owner. Reading other reviews, I think this is his M.O. In an economy where most restaurants are desperate for customers, I recommend you take your business elsewhere!
Not a huge menu but they execute their dishes flawlessly. Great wait staff. Best cookies ever! I drive from San Antonio to get their Smores cookie. It is the best cookie I have ever had in my life!
Great French Bistro! Whether you are a local or just visiting from out of town, this is a must see! From the art, the cuisine, the deserts, or assortment of fine quality tea; they were all presented with the best customer service and an excellent dinning experience!
A preferred place for tasty Quality Meals. Its so delicious. The service was very friendly and kind. This place has a cool atmosphere.
My top spot for delicious quality meals. There was quick and friendly service. Feels similar to a restaurant in Philadelphia that I enjoyed visiting.
Hip energetic vibe with great service. The atmosphere itself deserves 5 stars. The entire staff was very helpful and accommodating. Whether you’re with a group, on a date, or looking for a spot to connect to wifi alone and crank out some emails, this is the spot for you. We had the rueben and the duck confit which were both amazing! We also had coffee, tea, and espresso which were all top notch as well. Highly recommend this spot for lunch!
I love the food! Great service!
I feel the pubic should be informed. Know before you go. Vaudeville is NOT social distancing. The waiters are wearing masks, but every table was filled. That means patrons were only 2-3 feet apart on side wall. I did not feel safe.
The food here was amazing. The venue also made you feel as if you were in another time era. Great place to visit.
My wife and I had lunch at Vaudeville and found everything exceptional. The waiter, Joseph G is a perfect server and we hope that he serves us again. We will be back.
The crab soup was out of this world! Dont miss it. Enjoyed being there for lunch with my son and daughter in law
One of the best roasted chicken dishes Ive had in a restaurant. Trust me you want to try one of the cookies!
Quality Meals at this spot - very good. very savory. looking forward to returning with my relatives. this place has an awesome atmosphere. menu is like a cafe in boston i loved.
We visited on a Sunday, had to wait for 45 minutes with no reservation. The restaurant is nice and the store upstairs is amazing (and Expensive). They had a Sunday special, Chicken Fried. Everything tasted wonderful but the chicken was all bones (literally, I had ribs, tendons and what seemed part of the wing bone). Really disappointing. My wife had an amazing sandwich. We saw that they had Cuvee Coffee, which is our favorite roaster in Austin, so we decided to have a couple of espressos. Again, we were disappointed, it took forever to get the coffees, and when they arrived, the coffee was extremely bright and citric, and that was on milky drinks. We might repeat to give a second chance.
My fav spot for quality Quality Meals. the service was friendly and observant. prices are appropriate.
Had a wonderful dinner experience! My husband and I ate here for a belated birthday celebration, and it didn’t disappoint. The tuna was absolutely delicious, along with the tiramisu! The sommelier made wonderful wine recommendations and was extremely knowledgeable! He paired a lovely port with our dessert. We chatted with him half of the evening about wine! The service was attentive and friendly, and they remembered us when we picked up a to go order the next day. We’ll definitely be back!
Vaudeville in Fredericksburg Texas is hip bistro serving local New American cuisine in a historic vintage atmosphere with an inspiring sense of aesthetics. Vaudeville includes a showroom floor, and art gallery, and a gourmet bistro destination. It is an inspiring boutique shopping experience with a Bistro and Supper Club with menu selections that are nourishing, elegant and gratifying.
Vaudville has two levels with the store above and Bistro below. Come straight downstairs to the Bistro add enjoy the menu and beverage list before browsing the store. The food is as delicious as the decor and inventory is tasteful and eclectic. This has become our go-to for meals on Main Street in Fredericksburg. Every day they have a special menu. My wife and I had the buttermilk fried chicken, ordered with two breasts and split with an extra side of collard greens. The bird was perfectly cooked to retain moisture while the skin was crispy and well seasoned. This place must be owned by artists descended from the Italian Renaissance! They do everything impeccably well.
We didnt eat here because we were looking for a steak house. But I took pictures of the menu, the waiter was really sweet and recommended where to go for beef. No where in town could we find a steak house. I gave them a 3 because it wouldnt be fair to rate them poor if I didnt try the food, but I hear its really good.
My girlfriend and I went for dinner one night. My lamb was delicious, but her braised beef was very very salty. The cheese plate came out about thirty seconds before the main course.
A beautiful store front and restaurant in Fredricksburg. The store is on the main level and restaurant is downstairs. On Mondays and Wednesdays they have a prefix 5 course dinner, called supper club on a stunning side patio. I tried the chicken tortilla soup and fried chicken. Both were delicious. I would come back to try more.
Huge portions of food though $30 for the charcuterie board was a lot for nothing special. Great service and cool atmosphere.
Absolutely killer spot hidden downtown. Will definitely be coming back for the crab curry.
One of my top spots for quality quality meals. The staff was friendly and observant. Prices are fair.
Overall enjoyed my lunch here. Had the Sunday fried chicken special which was amazing (and a big portion), also a croissant from the bakery which was very average. There was a 30 minute wait but that was totally understandable considering the limited capacity.Only taking a star off because of the greeting we got from the host. He acted dismissive toward my boyfriend and I since we were younger. We were in line and he motioned for the group of 4 older men behind us to come up and talk to him first. He also was hugging and putting his arms around several of the female customers (different parties) which was unsettling, I don’t know if they knew each other before or not but it was unprofessional.
Prime Dip Sandwich was the best we have ever had. Iced Latte was delicious, thanks for using great beans! The Somm was very nice. Great wines by the glass and offer a discount on to-go wines. My steak/polenta dish hit the spot. Great for date night.
Tried to eat at Vaudeville after reading some excellent reviews. After a 1 hour and 45 minute wait we received a text that our table was ready... this was in fact not true as we still had to wait an extra 15+ minutes in the crowded basement. While waiting, we were amazed to see how this place was doing absolutely nothing to protect its patrons from COVID. First off the air felt extremely stuffy and warm, so the lack of airflow was evident. Secondly, the tables are packed in as tightly as possible, the average distance between tables was about 2 ft and thats being generous. Thirdly, the waiters and hosts were wearing a half face shield with no mask at all. The face shield did a great job of covering the servers chins... Upon seeing this and being fed up with the wait we decided to leave. As a medical health professional I was appalled to see this place do absolutely nothing to protect its patrons or employees from the threat of COVID19. Also, in this time of uncertainty I believe they should take reservations as many of the other options in Fredericksburg do. This would help them limit overcrowding. Leave fine dining to the big cities.
Great entrees. Very interesting building, must visit.
Vaudeville has definitely delicious food, I ordered a vegetarian dish, and it was great! My only complaint is that they have no measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Almost none of their workers were wearing masks (not even in the kitchen) and they were talking over the food. They were using gloves though, but gloves are decorative if people use them without masks.
To say we were treated awfully here is an understatement, and by one of the owners to boot Came here for supper club 5 years ago and thought it fantastic. Mr Boprae showed us around the showroom and we enjoyed the experience. 5 years later, I’m back in town, and Dragged a friend here for what I hoped was another great experience. Sadly, we were looked up and down, treated dismissively, and told the wait was an hour 15. 50 minutes later we came back to check on our place in line. A hostess told me we still had an hour. I asked her to explain why still an hour. She said, and I quote “he just put your name down. There are 13 tables in front of you”. I explained that I didn’t understand as we had given our name almost 50 mins ago. To my shock she began to speak to me like I was mentally challenged. Slowly and Rudely and over pronouncing her words she continued to repeat the same sentence. He just put you on the list. There are 13 tables infront of you, As though she were talking to a stubborn child. Then she counted to 13. Twice. Counting on her fingers. We were stunned. I asked if I could speak to the gentleman who I had spoken to earlier (which was mr boprae, the French man). He came back out and Rudely said what is the problem. I explained that his hostess was being very rude to us and we were simply trying to understand why we just got put on the list when we had been there 50 minutes earlier. he waved me off and said “no no there is no one rude here”. I said yes she was rude and he said “no she wasn’t”. After a stunned silence I said you know what? We don’t want to eat here. He said “no? Awww” and shrugged his shoulders and watched us walk away. Horrified.I have grown up all around the world, Europe, the Middle East, Eastern Europe. my family have homes on several continents and I’ve eaten at quite a few Michelin Star restaurants,, which this is not. I have never been treated so poorly in my life. After reading some other Reviews I see what might have happened here. Being casual after a long day of antique shopping maybe we didn’t fit the bill of what type of clientele he wanted in on a Friday night. He pushed us lower and lower on the list and oddly At the time they gave us to return, the restaurant would’ve been closed. We went to Chases place instead. Do yourself a favor and try that instead.I’ll never return here and I’ll never recommend it to anyone. C’est dommages, monsieur Boprae. A bientot.
Good service good food, bit on the heavy end $$$. The burrata is amazing!
My wife and I were lucky enough to experience your Bistro this afternoon after a busy day at Enchanted Rock and shopping on Main Street. Sitting at the bar enjoying a bowl gumbo we hada front row seat watching how the staff interacted while preparing orders. I have rarely seen such a cohesive and professional team anywhere. Congrats to you Dylan and your team! Excellence is rare in this business and difficult to achieve. Top food and service!
The food was exquisite and even when the staff was facing challenges with the lighting and some construction work they did not fail to be welcoming and delightful. 10/10 for the roast chicken sandwich and 10/10 for our server
Loved the bistro menu, which featured shareable plates and some amazing pizzas. Do yourself a favor and pair these dishes with a tasty local wine and it’ll be a solid win for you and your guest(s).
Warm cozy atmosphere. Good menu selection. Definitely a fun place to visit in town.
Delicious! But very expensive!2 coffees, an Americano, a beer, a charcuterie board, 1 dessert tiramisu, and 1 soup plus tip was close to $100 which is the cheaper way to enjoy the restaurant with 4 people.Excellent friendly service from Joseph and Hannah. (Get this girl on the wait staff, shes far too friendly to be just a runner!)Masks worn with all staff and hand sanitizer at entry was much appreciated.
Atmosphere: Upscale, Posh, elegantService: AttentiveFood: Club sandwich was presented beautifully with housemade potato chips and a salad, all delicious. Mediterranean plate was also quite good with baba Ghanoush, olives, ricotta, and an exotic canelli bean spread, ciabatta bread was perfect. Spinach mushroom quiche was made with phyllo dough in an individual portion, great flavor. Chicken and wild rice soup was zesty and robust.Pricing: On the expensive side $25 per person
The first picture says it all we were cheering of happiness and excitement for the great dining experience. If you are looking for a place you don’t want any disappointment..this is the place. Every bite we took from our dishes were an experience well loved. The service was 100 percent on point and the atmosphere is most definitely a plus.
Bistro was amazing ... Highly recommend the cheese board and the roasted chicken sandwich. I really wanted to try a desert, but I was too full!
Excellent food!!! Super friendly and polite staff. Very clean and well maintained establishment. Great place to frequent :)
Great atmosphere, good service, and excellent food.Vaudeville food is pricey but didnt disappoint me like so many other expensive places Ive been too.
Excellent French influenced Bistro Resto to eat breakfast - lunch - dinner !The cheese plate (5 different cheeses - 4 soft French and 1 Dutch Gouda) and lump crab curry soup was excellent. Mimosa (with fresh orange juice) was outstanding. Bellini was available with fresh peaches. The staff was very patient and helpful !What a treat to find such a sublime kitchen in Fredericksburg Texas
Excellent food and customer service. I would definately eat there again.
Great place for high end home products. Theres also a bistro down stairs.
Absolutely fantastic cuisine, great selection of cheeses and wine. This is a must do or experience whenever you visit Fredericksburg. The acoustic and great architecture will make you feel welcome from the moment you step in. I would call this “A little piece of Europe in Texas”
Great food! Great service!
We got into Fredericksburg late on Friday night and they had a side table available in the front, not the main dining area. We were concerned they would forget about us but we were hungry and took the chance. The service turned out to be amazing. She was extremely attentive and the food was really good as well. I had the duck and my fiance ordered the lamb. Its pricey for sure but you get what you paid for.
We had a reservation for today at 11 for 10 people. They gave our table to another party (of 8) who did not have a reservation and we were even there early. They even told us that the table that was seated was meant for us. They first tried to tell us that we would have to wait 20 minutes and everyone would have to sit separately. After we were not okay with that, they tried to seat us at a small round table that would not even fit all of our people. They would not ask the other table to move to the round table which would fit them, and they did not even have drinks yet. Today is a Sunday and we have 10 people so there was not any other options for us. They did say there was a private room that they won’t use until February and wouldn’t put us there. I was very disappointed with how they handled this situation and accommodated to a party who did not even have a reservation over us. We even called Thursday to confirm that we had a reservation so that we would not have this issue.
Pork tacos were delicious. So was the coconut rice pudding
Food was amazing. Service, attention to details and professionalism...not so much. Had to continually go downstairs to ask for service (we sat outside/upstairs). Basically upstairs is forgotten about.
This meal was amazing. Definitely a high priced evening, but totally worthwhile. An excellent meal with our friends. Our waitress was friendly and very helpful. I recommend this for your special night out!
Lovely experience and ambience. Delicious food!
Stopped in for lunch; cup of soup was very good and pastrami on rye was one of the best I have had. Spouse enjoyed her lunch as well. Good atmosphere and server was very friendly and attentive.
The food was great the Bellinis are so good. Our waitress wasnt the best, but other then that we loved it.
Ten of us just had a delicious meal at Vaudeville in Fredericksburg! The Farmer’s Market Pizza looked colorful and tasted quite good. The seasonal snow globes on the table were festive. We all enjoyed our meals and the excellent service.
This place the best French dips I’ve ever had. A little expense, $17 for a French dip but it is worth it. The drinks are great too. The atmosphere is classy and the wait staff are professional. I would eat there everyday!
Really cool place in a cool building. Loved the atmosphere. The quiche was very good, the flakiest crust Ive ever had. Would definitely visit here again. :oD
Had the Madagascar iced coffee, in a word perfection. In more words smooth hints of chocolate and just the right amount of robustness. The pistachio tiramisu is absurd in the best way possible. Creamy, delicate, and the the pistachio really seals the deal.
I am giving a 5 star review for the upstairs gallery & if we had been able to enjoy the downstairs bistro, from the menu I saw, would have most likely received a 5 star review too Personally I applaud Fredericksburg for making things feel like normal & not sneek up on me or next to my table wearing masks & gloves Its like, sh*t, do I give you my order or my wallet?!? While taking this virus serious, I do find it hypocritical to eat out, enjoy the ambiance & food....only to go home & write a review reprimanding the establishment from which you came from as doing nothing to stop the spread of covid-blah blah blah.....if you felt so unprotected, why did you stick around for a meal of food??? just wondering
The best meal Ive ever had in my life!
Awesome food, service and atmosphere!
Classy joint! Nice chorizo Salamanca pizza .
Beautiful, fine dining experience.
Vaudeville is a must if youre in Fredericksburg. They have great brunch and dinner options. Their salads are great and I love the French Dip.
Fine Dinning at its best! Went to celebrate our first year anniversary and they didnt disappoint. The service and the food presentation were on point.
Friendly staff. Loved the big pastrami sandwich
Great food. Chicken and Waffles for brunch is amazing!
Delicious food! Everything we had was great. They seem a little understaffed, as our service was slow on Sunday morning.Note - they do not have a true brunch. They have their lunch menu Sunday mornings with mimosas and quiche. Everything is tasty, though.
Amazing good and service !
We ate at the Bistro down stairs. Their hours are a little funny, but it wasnt difficult to plan a good time to go. The sandwiches and mimosas were wonderful and the portions were a good size!
Wonderful place for a gourmet and totally delicious lunch! I ordered the roasted chicken sandwich and it was perfect. A bit pricey, but worth it!
My mom and grandma and I went for Mother’s Day Brunch. The food was so delicious with the fresh seafood and the prime rib. Unfortunately though, we had to sit outside and there were so many flies buzzing around it made it hard to enjoy the atmosphere.
If you go to Vaudeville, get the Chorizo Salamanca pizza and a glass of Carlos Reynolds wine. A perfect meal!
The food is very good, the desserts are amazing! Cute bistro downstairs. You pay for the ambience when the check comes :)
