I enjoy being a member of the Fredericksburg Art Guild, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting fine arts in the Texas Hill Country. In addition to adult painting classes there are periodic free kids classes, and a great gallery that is open to the public 10-4 Thursday-Monday every week. Local artists continually bring new art, with one artist being featured each month.Along with the other galleries in Fredericksburg, the Guild is open till 8 on the first Friday of each month for First Friday Art Walk.Not just paintings and 3D art, there are also greeting cards and unique jewelry.Prices are reasonable and members are required to docent one day a month, so when you want to know about a piece of art, you are probably asking a friend of the artist, if not the artist themselves!The Guild is located across Austin St. from the Museum of the Pacific War and is a great hangout for tired folks who want to treat their friends/family members to as much time as they may want in that great museum.
