Ive been going to Jack Browns for almost a decade now. Their shop is awesome, everyone in the shop is professional and loves what they do. I personally have gone to Chance Kenyan for the majority of my work (pictured below) for the amazing Japanese artwork he creates. My girlfriend has also gone to him for her tattoos (pictured below) and has been blown away by how easy he is to work with and the top quality tattoos he puts out. All the times that Ive been in the shop to get work done I always make a point to look around at the other artists work and have never seen any tattoo that I wasnt impressed by. This is A VERY good tattoo studio to go to for any of your tattoo needs.10 out of 10 would recommend to everyone!

I had tons of recommendations and for years have wanted to take the leap... I finally did it and got my first tattoo. Ike was the artist I worked with and he was incredible! My dad and I both got our firsts these past 2 weeks with Ike. One of my brothers gets his there as well. We know some of the artists from back in school days!The shop is super about cleanliness and tattoo hygiene yet also maintaining the old tattoo shop vibe.Very reasonable pricing. Excellent work with customers throughout planning process. Very clear regulations/expectations in writing. Abides by laws of identification requirements.AWESOME PEOPLE EVERYWHERE

Went here in 2015 (just found out how to post reviews or I did post one and not remember) my artist was Mike he did a FANTASTIC job on my first tattoo! Whole staff was nice will definitely come back! I always recommend this place! Posted photos of the tattoo on my lower leg of the outline and when it was finished. Excuse the blood on the nose in the finished photo. Definitely faded now hopefully be able to get it touched up soon.

I had always heard that Jack Browns was the best shop anywhere in the area long before I ever got my first tattoo. When I finally decided to get my first tattoo, I knew where I was going. I was worried about getting goofed on for being in there for my first one but everyone there was awesome. The process was explained to me and I was put at ease the entire time. You will not find a shop that puts an artists creativity as a priority like JBTR. If you don’t know where to get your tattoo, look no further than Jack Browns!

Went to Jack Browns for the first time on Monday for my appointment with Dustin. What a great experience! Dustin was amazing to work with and took my design and made beautiful art with it. He was kind, gentle and amazing at what he does! Im on day two after my tattoo and have NO pain! Im used to tattoos hurting for several days after, this is awesome. There is a reason why almost anyone in town tells you to get your tattoo at Jack Browns. Just had my 2nd session with Chance and he is amazing. Not too heavy but not too light, his line work is impeccable and his shading is on point. He is now my go to tattoo guy. Good job man!!

Jack Browns is one of the absolute coolest businesses you will ever set foot in. An awesome environment filled with incredibly talented artists. I went with my wife during their tattoos for community event in which they donated all the proceeds to a local charity. The lines to make appointments were tremendous and even with loads of people the artists and their wonderful staff kept it a fun and upbeat atmosphere. My wife and I had our tattoos done by Chance who was not only a talented artist but a super friendly and funny guy. If you are covered in tattoos or looking for your first one I cant recommend this place enough.

I am unsure of the artists since I cant seem to get into the shop, however their work looks fantastic, but the calls to set up an appointment has been unpleasant. After 4 calls over 1 year, dealing with the rude receptionist, Im willing to drive an hour and 5 minutes to my favorite artist in Richmond due to her attitude. I wish I could attest to their work but her rudeness is a blocker.

This is the Tiffanys of tattoos in the area. Fun and relaxing atmosphere. Kevin was my artist, and I highly recommend him - I drew my own tattoo, and he made it better! But based on my experience, you cant go wrong with any of the artists there.

So I stumbled in to Jack Browns while on a date (it went terribly in case youre curious). I immediately knew it was going to be my shop for any work going forward.The team is kind, personable, and professional. The shop is clean, open, and dripping with character. All the artists are masters ans Ive gotten beautiful work done everytime Ive gone in (six times as of this post). I honestly couldnt picture myself going anywhere else to have work done.If youre looking for a place where youre treated well and youre given a more than fair price, Jack Browns is the best place for you.

Most fantasic tattoo studio in Virginia! The artists is extremely friendly and welcoming. I requested for Dustin to do a piece on my arm and I was MORE than happy with what he created. I recommend anyone who wants an epic piece done, this is definitely the place to go. Dont let their prices be a deterrent because youll get the quality youre looking for, respect from the artist (some artist Ive come across at other studios dont make any attempt to make you feel welcome) and youll get a lot more attention for the beautiful detail and work these guys do! Got my Daughters name done today by Dustin. Super clean lines and looks better than I could ever expect. Very clean and friendly atmosphere for sure. I moved here a few years ago and had a particular Tattoo shop in Pa I go to . I couldnt be happier with This place and will be returning 100% for the many future tattoos I will be getting.

I got my ears pierced here and loved it! The guy who did it knew exactly what he was doing and was very professional -- he measured everything very precisely, was very sanitary, and was very supportive. A+ 10/10 no problems.

These guys do a great job. I’ve been going to Kelly Drake, who just seems to knock it out of the park every time. Both of my kids have gone and have had a work by Dustin and Greg who do a great job, too. Laid back shop, professional work, and I think most of the artists have been there a long time, which speaks for itself.

Fun place to stop in. We didnt get tattoos, but mainly stopped to see the Zoltar machine and dart board for getting random tattoos. Shop was really clean and the artists were friendly.

The entire crew at JBs could not have been better. The ladies up front made everybody feel at home for the entire day....Sun up to sun down.....they deserve a medals for keeping the calm! & of course the amazing laughing and singing of the rest of the artists.... Kept everybody very relaxed!I was then lucky enough to have Kelley work his magic on my request. I had something that most would say is easy...... ..but Kelley treated my simple request with amazing care. That tattoo fairy gets it when it comes to customer care.... Thanks Kelley and team! Jack Browns is a great place to get a tattoo. You will have to schedule a visit, but it is worth the wait. Both the front desk staff and the tattoo artists were friendly and helpful. This is my go to place for any skin art.

Best shop in town hands down

My friend and I came here to get piercings. Von peri was absolutely amazing! So sweet and silly but professional when it come time to do the piercing. My friend got her first facial piercing which was a septum and I got my nostril. Priced perfectly for the quality. Would have been a 5 star review, but the receptionist with the long black hair was incredibly rude. The staff is what makes up for it.

Ike did my boyfriends tattoo about a month ago and dug into him so bad that it’s still not healed completely. I called over a week ago letting them know how the tattoo looked (white from scarring & still scabbed up) and that we did not want the same artist, I call again yesterday before what was supposed to have been his next appointment and they tell me that we forfeit the deposit for canceling the day of the appt when I told them a week ago we did not want him to do it and we would come in to show him and talk to him about it. He proceeds to say he doesn’t know why that happened, it’s never happened to him before. You can clearly see a big indentation from where he dug him up in the corners of the tattoo. We talked to 2 other artists outside of this shop who said the same thing and said when it heals it won’t be smooth. Another guy looks at it and says it could’ve just been from his shirt rubbing it. He was arrogant and rude and didn’t want to do anything besides go back over it and said give it another month to heal. What tattoo takes 2 months to heal?! And it’s not a huge tattoo. We will not be going back to this place. They have 5 star ratings and a 2 start artist! We should’ve known he didn’t know what he was doing when, I’m conversation, he said he’d only been tattooing 3 years and by the end of the conversation he said 5 years. Get it together! Granted, Ike is their newest member. But if he couldn’t tattoo well, he shouldn’t be at a shop like this.

Ive been to a couple places since I started getting tattooed. Not one of the other places Ive been to has even come close in comparison to Jack Browns. I think their pricing is extremely fair, you get what you pay for, and that is great quality of work by ALL of the artists. They are all very professional, and run the cleanest shop I have seen. Cleanliness should be the number one priority in picking a shop to get your tattoos, and these guys have it. In the bajillion times Ive been there (Im a regular), I have watched these guys continuously change their gloves throughout appointments, wash their hands before and after, and not once reuse a needle. All the artists are incredibly friendly and courteous, and have ALWAYS treated me with kindness and respect, so I have NO idea what that broad is talking about who left the nasty comment. Maybe if SHE wasnt so uptight, she could have gotten the great experience that I get every. single. time I go there. Ive been getting tattooed there for almost 4 years, will refer anyone I know to get tattooed there (and I have, countless times, with great results and nothing but nice things to say), and will continue to go there myself for many years to come. Jack Browns is the best.

I got my first tattoo in two session with Greg, amazing guy. He was so cool and gave me exactly what I wanted. During the tattoo he would ask if I needed a break and was fair with the pricing. I will be going back to him for my next tattoo. The only issue I had was with the lady at the front desk, she had quite an attitude. My brothers girlfriend also had an unfortunate run in with the same lady. Long straight black hair and not accommodating to customers. The first time I went in I almost left because of how rude she was to customers, but meeting my artist was what convinced me to stay. The store was clean and professional, I hope the managment takes care of their customer service issues but the artists were fun and wonderful to work with.

I cannot even begin to express how much I love the ink Ive gotten here! Greg was amazing! It took 3 sessions to finish my piece, was in an extremely painful place, but if I had been with any other artist I cant imagine I would have finished it. Ill be back for both tattoos and piercings in the very near future.
