It was beautiful, made me happy thank you. I had two other people with me and they enjoyed being there to..
I remember when this was just bare concrete.. they have done a wonderful job. Well worth exploring
A stunning little gem in downtown Fredrick! We had dinner at a delicious basement pub called Wags. It was 20 from the park and after a delicious burger and eclectic atmosphere, my father and I walked the little creek on both sides! Saw interesting architecture and water features. Well worth the visit!
A gorgeous walking creek. Frederick Maryland has done a wonderful job with Carroll Creek, one of my favorite spots.
The boats lit up on the creek were sooo awesome! What a great night on the creek. It was not crowded at all...very easy to social distance and the weather was perfect!
Every city should have a Carroll Creek Park. Its an urban park that runs through historic Frederick along a small creek with little bridges and many shops just off the creek. On the west end is Baker Park and the further east you walk, youll stumble upon many breweries just off the water. Some parts of the park include public art displays.
Beautiful and well maintained park. The downtown area of Frederick is great. Highly recommend for a date night
Very nice and not crowded Enjoyed walk along canal. Well maintained area in downtown Frederick. Public parking garage is short distance away. Metered parking along also.
We went there first time after reading the reviews. It was a good experience. The weather was good that day. We enjoyed the walk. It is beautiful. The creek is well maintained. Parking was not a problem. We parked in parking garage near library. You can buy food or icecream there. We will go again there.
Perfect day to walk around and enjoy the lighted ships in the creek.
This is a beautiful park nice area to relax at lots of things to do around here shops food entertainment all sorts of things benches to sit down on trails to walk on nice trees just a lovely park will be coming here more often
This wonderful park features a creek surround by walking trails. It stretches several blocks so if you want to walk the entire trail allow a good amount of time. Bridges cross the creek that are accessible from the main trail, providing excellent views of the creek below. There were also benches to sit by the creek. The park changes depending on where youre at. Some areas had sculptures right in the creek while others had fountains. Some areas were also wider than others.
This is a very pretty walk, bike ride, or run. I typically start from Rt 40 area. Typically a 3mile trip in one direction. When its sunny out, and your on a bike be prepared to ride around pedestrians. Its a busy trail.....considering the views understandably so. The further you go, the newer...kinda romantic too.
Beautiful and there are HUGE fish in the creek at places. And BEAUTIFUL goldfish looking ones!!
A quaint walk along the creek with restaurants and breweries.
A beautiful place to walk around and take pictures. Great restaurants within walking distance.
Gorgeous display of holiday decorated boats with lots of lights.
Beautiful respite in a lovely city. Ducks, flowers and sculpture all contribute to the restful ambiance.
Nice breeze blowing across the creek, hot day, beautiful fountains and sculptures, lots of Lily pads, big fish and the occasional ducks with their babies. Maybe find a good spot to take off your shoes and dip your feet into the cold creek water.
Beautiful strolling location through historic Frederick amidst restaurants and shoppes.
Absolutely wonderful integration of a residential area with a very well thought and maintained park in a boheme city
Always something going on in Downtown Frederick. Even on weekends when there are mo events, its nice to stroll along the creek. Kids love seeing the giant fish in the creek. Plenty places to just sit down, but also lots of places to get something to eat or drink, including ice cream.
The walk was delightful, seeing all the Lily pads blooming. All the flags on the bridge were beautiful. The Frederick pride was so much fun, with entertainers, vendors, groups you can join to help out. Thank you Frederick
This is an awesome place to take your family. A really nice Riverwalk and shops along the way. Food shops and places to eat. Theres some nice bridges over the Riverwalk also and it just adds to the ambience. When youre done there, you can walk along the street later of this historic town and see all the historic buildings. There are a lot of buildings that are on the historic register, youve got to go here and take this walk.
Beautiful park in a very nice town. Shops all along the park with fantastic food options
What a great place to walk around. Really beautiful and it wasnt too crowded even though it was a Saturday. It looks like they might have outdoor concerts and events along the canal. Plenty of restaurants to choose from. This area is family and pedestrian friendly. There are shared use lanes as well for bikes and skates. Lots of leashed dogs since its across the street from a dog park. I highly recommend stopping by for a visit.
Great location for a festival! Picturesque setting, water lilies in the creek and huge koi fish. Restaurants easy access to Market Street in beautiful downtown Frederick
Great little park along the stream.
Christmas boats were great!
Great place to hang out. Good walk after having dinner. Lovely environment
Amazing veiws along the creek. Its a path way that spreads a lot of beauty and finesse. The pathway stretches thru downtown as you come across shops and elegant water displays ... The place is amazing. #Downtown #Fredrick #MD
One of my favorite places in Maryland. I love it when there are events as well as when it is nice and quiet.
This walk is extremely nice! My family and I came here around the holidays and saw the fun light boats and decorations! The stores and attractions are fun along the river! At night its really great because everything glows! Frederick is a super cute city and I cant wait to come back! I recommend this walk to everyone!
Beautiful walk with nice restaurants nearby.
Its a beautiful location for family time, exercise and dining.
Setting was beautiful, great for a short getaway in nature. Big plus for COVID times that the Nature Center (and its restrooms) are open most days
Carroll Creek Park/Baker Park is a beautiful place to walk and be with family and friends. I usually walk through the park in early morning, its a great way to start my day
Great place for family time, relax and fun
This park is nice, and clean. Wonderful wide brick walkways on both sides of the creek. Wheelchair accessible areas in multiple locations. Nice pedestrian bridges over the water. Beautiful water features as well as a variety of plants. You can watch the ducks and the fish swimming in the waters. Theres so much to look at. Check the local Frederick calenders for events along the creek such as Farmers markets, live music, and other festivals. Theres also restaurants along the north side and is close to all the action along Market St. in downtown Frederick.
Well done river walk in downtown Fredrick just a block away from downtown shipping and dining. Some restaurants have seating outside along the river.
Very peaceful! Great place for lunch!
Excellent outdoor & different this of Park atmosphere. Excellent for wheelchair access.
Carroll Creek park was very picturesque clean and looks to be well planned. Less than an hours drive from our home in northern Virginia it was well worth the trip and Im sure we will come back
The centerpiece to our lovely little town. A visit to Frederick is not complete without a stroll down the highly photogenic Carroll Creek. Check out one of the great restaurants or watch live music at the amphitheater near the suspension bridge. Quack at the ducks and try to spot one of the behemoth carp gliding among the lilies.
Its an urban park that runs through historic Frederick along a small creek with little bridges and many shops just off the creek.
A great place to take a stroll and people watch.
Great place to take a walk after eating at one of numerous restaurants downtown.
A charming, must see spot in Frederick!!! Great place to stroll, people watch, go on a date or have an ice cream cone with a friend!!!
Beautiful! Just dont drop anything in the creek or you will never get it back!
One of the most well kept parks in the area. Lots of street festivals. Great dining with outdoor seating along the main walk. A beautiful and serene place, lots of great gardens along the walk and in the water!
Best place in Frederick for festivals, dining and shopping.
Its peaceful and inviting. A nice place to take lunch or dinner and sit.
This is a really nice walk anytime its sunny, best in water lily flowering season. Good places along the way for wondering around, quick bite or drink or icecream. Go further down Market St for niche shops. Fun as a date, with friends or the kids.
Beautiful little park right in the heart of downtown Frederick. A wonderful place to spend an enjoyable afternoon.
Great place to have a nap on the wall of youre suffering from jet lag/5 hrs in front: youre waking up to have breakfast @ 3am local Maryland/Frederick time
Nice diversion for an evening.
Stunning sceneic place to walk
Nicely decorated with the lighted boats
We drive here often from Mt. Airy to take walks.
Ive pass through Frederick so many times, but it has never occurred to me to pause and explore the city. One day I looked it up through TripAdvisor. I immediately grew an interest in Carrol Creek Park, with its pictures featured on top 2 of the list. Sorry Yelp, in terms of Things To Do, TripAdvisor is still the leader; CCP is listed as #171 on Yelps Things To Do in Frederick MD search!!The main focal point is the segment of the creek at S. Market St. The arched stone bridge featuring a funky artistic mechanical clock immediately captured my attention. In the stretch of creek in front it were a whole variety of water lilies. Not sure how long water lilies bloom, but I consider myself lucky because they were all blooming and they were amazing. Both sides of the banks along this section of the creek are brick pavement, very well done and maintained. Theres also an amphitheater and several artificial. The whole setting is very inviting and conducive to taking a good stroll, which can be last for miles but I have yet to spend more time to explore beyond the immediate area around the clock bridge. I will definitely be back after this initial exploratory visit.Metered street parking is $2 per hour and I had no problem finding a spot on a Saturday.
Beautiful promenade with great shops, dining, and wonderful vibe. In the warmer months, youll find people eating at outdoor cafes, walking their dogs, or just taking in the lovely combination of urban and natural scenery. The water features are always well maintained and there is never any litter. Its obvious people really care about this area. Its close to the historic part of Frederick, too, so if youre feeling ambitious, taste a stroll down the promenade, grab a hot dog, and discover all the great architecture and history Frederick has to offer.
Beautiful atmosphere. But service at the shops wasnt that great
Lily pads..waterfalls..quaint shops and restaurants..love this place!!
Nice to walk along Carroll Creek now. The Revitalization is beautiful. The new restaurants and outdoor seating is just what downtown needed. Nice family atmosphere. Dog friendly.
Great place to take a walk with the family. The lighted boats in the winter are a must see. You can walk from breweries at the North End to Baker Park. The Maryland Craft Beer Festival is usually in May and is a great use of the space.
Very nice walking trail along a nicely developed creek. Easy distance from fatastic restaurants and local sites.
Awesome place to take a walk or bring your dog for a walk .... relax and enjoy the view
Very nice linear walkway with restaurants along the way
This a clean and quiet park for the location.
Beautiful place to hang out or play sports. Walking around in the Spring will put a smile on your face
Nice place to walk as long as the homeless people arent all out and about smoking and being loud
Great place to walk about. Do a little window shopping.
A nice walking park with plenty of little shops on the north bank. Sailboats in the creek are lit up for the holidays.
Very nice park. We visited for the First Saturday arts celebration. We loved the decorations of the boats (floats) on the water, and the design of the park itself. There were a good amount of family activities as well, and its proximity to the downtown area was quite convenient. The only downside was that we drove in (from Leesburg) just to see the fire-dancing exhibition, but missed half of it due to to lack of basic information. No one knew where it was being held. There were no signs, and everybody we asked said that they didnt know where it was supposed to be either. Just a few signs, or a few well-informed volunteers would have made the night a lot more enjoyable for a lot of visitors!
If you are looking for a family-friendly, dog friendly, beautiful place to take a stroll or even a nice place to take friends or a date out for a bite, look no further this is it! Carroll Creek has something for everyone. The scenery is beyond beautiful! The plants, wildlife, art, waterfalls and relaxing nature of this place is enough to draw anyone in! The Creek is very well maintained, there are events and bands playing all the time every week and there are small shops on and around the Creek. This is my favorite place to go for a stroll, day or night with my wife and kids.
Beautiful place. Nice place to take a walk or go on a bike ride
Fun place just to walk around eat and people watch
Beautiful landscaping, lots of cool art, and places to eat outside as well.
Beautifully land/waterscapingWalking the neighboring streets had great shops and restaurants
Very nice place for the family and friends.
A great linear park.
Americas best kept secret...
We enjoyed strolling this promenade so much. The Delaplaine Art Center is a treasure for Frederick residents I am sure. The exhibits were top notch and the staff (I am assuming mostly volunteers) were so excited about the work they are doing there.Visited in November so not all of the restaurants were open and we could only imagine what the planters in the water look like in warmer months (stunning I am sure!). The art work, the bridges, the cafes and bistros and the art center all make this Promenade a genuine experience for visitors. Thank you!
