The WWII event at Rosehill Manor was really wonderful. The soldiers took young and old visitors on a trip to the past. The UFO show gave us Laurel and Hardy skits, big band singers and entertained everyone. Seeing the old trucks, cars, tents filled with only that eras communication tools made one realize that the lack of computers, cell phones and gadgets still enabled our men and women the ability to put a stop to Hitler.

This is such a beautiful place. Really next different events. Well organized. Friendly people and doesnt cost an arm and leg to go. Usually $5 per ticket for certain events. No paid parking, no paid ride tickets. Just the entrance fee. Weve been here for many gatherings and always have such a wonderful time! Somthing for all ages.(literally our crew has ages 70 years- down to 5) even the teenagers and tweens found enjoyment! Please do yourselves a favor and go to rose hill manor events.

Wonderful museum for both adults and children. Guided tour available and Diane was extremely knowledgeable and personable. She spent over 4 hours with us as they were not busy the day we visited . We had a chance to watch a demonstration of old muskets as a bonus. The auxiliary buildings on the property were facinating and the carriage museum was worth the visit by itself . Will stop by again on our next trip to Frederick, Maryland .

This is a great little gem hidden in the middle of Frederick. Its a great museum about life in revolutionary and pre-civil war Frederick. Its great for kids and has a ton of toys and other items for them to play with.We went late in the season and got a personal tour since we were the only people there. They also have various events through the summer, which sounded fun, although we didnt get to experience them.

Love this park. Its great to walk around with the kids here. The park Manor house is small, but nicely preserved, as are all of the other outbuildings. The best time to go is for their Easter Celebration, they do a great job throwing a big day long festival for the whole county. There are several really big fields to let kids run around on, and lots of hickory trees if you like bird/squirrel watching.

This is a hidden gem of Maryland history, tucked away in Frederick just off route 15. This was the residence of Marylands first governor, Thomas Johnson, in his last years, and much of the house is still original with period additions made by subsequent owners. The county park staff was very welcoming and several helped me even though they were running a few different programs for children, which I hadnt known about as I stopped by with a few hours between doctor appointments. Once I was on tour I was given a thorough and engaging tour of the house and grounds which tied together the local and national history of the period. I will be returning to this site soon, and I recommend anyone else who loves history to do the same.

The events here are hit or miss they had a family game time that was lackluster but this event was much better. If you looking to go to an event here then I recommend sticking to the historical events as those are the better of the events. I am not sure why this is but it has been our experience.

Lovely local historical park. Its a great place to get kids to think about and experience history. Its not huge, but my kids love the kid museum (toy) section. The grounds are pretty, and there is something interesting for everyone. They host fun summer camps for kids and there are frequently fun events and festivals. If it interests you at all, the WWII weekend is not to be missed.
