Positive: Like the cottages and the pool and how clean. Negative: Yes the water didnt get hot.
WE LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! My soulmate and I found this hidden gem recently, we are locals and rent a cottage out as much as possible. Cute little man-made lake, great staff, cozy, clean rooms, and an awesome short little boardwalk through the woods. Its the perfect hidden little get away!!!!
Our cabin was comfortable and very clean. The grounds are very well kept, there are fishing areas plus a Scenic nature preserve boardwalk. We met Donovan looking for a duck. Donovan is who cares for the Maintenance and grounds and it is obvious his heart is into this place right down to caring for a baby duck who seems to be missing its mother. I am a business owner in Fort Myers and I tried to hire Donovan but no go, he is not leaving Rocklake.
Beautiful resort, the cabins have an amazing view. I stayed in the motel part with my husband and small service dog, the room was quaint and was very well kept. The pool was very relaxing and a good size. I will definitely be back to stay in the cabins soon. All the guests and workers were very friendly. Also a very good price for the quality.
Great experienced from booking, checking in and out. The best staff. I really recommend them.
The rooms are very well clean & has a beautiful lake right outside of the rooms patio filled with fish & turtles. Oooh the nature trail is beautiful for a walk.
Positive: Lots to do - fish on the river, feed the turtles and fish in the private pond, swim in the pool, nature walk
This was an extremely last minute booking. We wanted to be secluded but close to downtown. Rock Lake accomplished this. We felt as if we were in a private cottage somewhere in the woods even though its in an industrial area. The check in was efficient and great, seeing that I booked at 6 pm to arrive at 10 pm after the office closed. They even called to make sure I got the right instructions to get in. It was the coziest little cottage with the cutest most serene lake (with fish) right outside your own personal huge patio!! We didnt have to deal with elevators and lobbies and hallways like a hotel or motel...which I was trying to avoid due to CoVid19. The room was immaculate the beds were very comfortable and had EVERYTHING!!! Pots, pans, bowls, plates, cups, silverware, real utensils, a real coffeemaker, fridge, microwave and stove! There was a real nature trail with a boardwalk in a cute little forest right by our cottage behind a cool grassy area that can be used for events or just a little picnic. The gazebo next to the river was also great for that...great area for kayaking or canoeing. The pool was great!! We almost didnt need (or want) to leave the resort to go anywhere!! We will definitely be back!!
Really cute cottages around a cute lake. Has a bit of a vintage feel to it. The cottages are a bit dated, but the scenery more than makes up for it. The patio outside is an ideal place to wake up and have some self-arranged breakfast. The pond has a lot of lively fish and turtles, which are very curious and immediately crowd before your patio. Its located very close to the center of Fort Meyers, so there are plenty of places to either start or end your culinary day.
Its a terrible place I would recommend 0 stars if I could
Bring your own towels if you dye your hair, charged me me 30 because my hair stained 2 towels. Asked me “what kind of people do this!?” In rude way. I don’t know maybe people that dye their hair. I could’ve went to Walmart and got them the same towel for $6 a piece but instead I was charged $30 for drying my hair.
Clean and wonderful atmosphere. Pool is great and the fish and turtles come right up to the sidewalk. Close to downtown for restaurants and nightlife.
Looking for a cute, inexpensive, friendly, clean place to stay you found it! Everyone is super nice, the rooms are clean, cute, and big! Nice pool for the kids, and cute lake around the cottages! We checked in late and they left keys in night stand so we didn’t have to worry about check inn at night and we could do it in the morning! We will come back to this little hotel next time we are back in Florida! Best independent hotel we have stayed at in a long time!!! (pictures on site match the room).
Being from the area Ive driven past here numerous times and finally decided to stay. So happy we did! The employees were very sweet and accommodating. The property is gorgeous!! The room is more like a mini studio with your own private porch. Included in the stay is access to kayaks because on the other side is the river. There is a nature preserve with a boardwalk running through it, a laundry center, a pool, and a BBQ area. Very quiet and relaxing and worth the money!!!
I would think twice about this place. Not only was the front desk manger very rude and unhelpful but the room was nasty mold on bed found a few roaches. I’ve written a review before but obviously they can’t take criticism because they delete every bad review and leave just the good ones. Think twice about coming here guess you get what you pay place is disgusting.
Positive: Quaint and had some property to explore
Well they only accept cash here, the placeooks nothing likw the picture you have a fountin in the center by the gate access. Across the road they have the pool and amenities.
Me and husband used to love it here we miss going there but last year we stayed and cottage smelled and roaches very dissapointed
It is a quiet, beautiful place about 1 mile from downtown Historic District.Cosy room, clean and spacious, lots of light coming from the window (room #20), the bed was very comfortable. The cottages area is beautiful with a lake in the middle and a little jungle in the back :)Staff is very nice and helpful.I planned to stay only 3 nights but it felt so comfortable so i stayed one week.
We stayed here Easter weekend. I wish I would have gotten the front desk persons name; she was great. We stayed in one of the cottages on the lake and loved it. This place is a gem and very close to downtown and the beach. This is an older property but our cottage was clean, although, I wish the bathroom was a little cleaner. There was mold in the shower and bathroom window. Also the laundry area had alot of out of order signs but we did not use them, it was just an overnight. There is a little boardwalk and it is a nice quick walk but needed some cleaning up. Lastly, the kids did take a dip in the pool but just a dip, it was still pretty chilly for swimming. Nice pool area, just needs some TLC and maybe shock the pool. Although I had some concerns, we will definitely stay here again. Even though its older, and needs some TLC, this is a great place to come and as long as they keep it up, we will come every two months. Great beds too. Give them a try. I was skeptical at first but I am so happy that we found this gem :)
Positive: Very charming old Florida style motel. Close to good restaurants downtown.
Clean, quiet, reasonable #MCM vintage resort which appeals to fans of this type of lodging. Within walking distance / trolley ride to downtown Ft. Myers - do research first though, not much info provided by hotel. Dont be put off by the permanently closed tennis court at entrance - please note, basic amenities provided.
Wonderful location, close to downtown. Friendly staff, awesome grounds (loved the nature path), and the cabins were perfect to a tee. Spent our last night on the cabin porch enjoying the pond and the sights that came with it. Would absolutely return!!!!!
Fantastic place! Loved every minute of our stay. We stayed for 6 days. Absolutely beautiful setting and prime location. Staff was very kind and friendly.
Stayed 1 night, the positives are the location as it’s very close to downtown Fort Myers and the affordability. I didn’t go into the stay thinking it was a Holiday Inn or anything, but alot of the negative reviews are correct. King size bed means 2 twins pushed together, I slept terribly. The mattresses are not comfortable. The bed sheets and pillows need an update, look like they’re over 10 years old. I’m imagining the rooms across the road next to the lake are nicer but I couldn’t say. It worked for what it was but I probably wouldn’t come back unless there was a major update with the beds.
Nice little getaway for a busy weekend to relax
Unfortunately not knowing there eas a Rock Lake Parking lot resort we got stuck in there.Though all rooms overlooked the lake. Not! Make sure you get what you are looking at otherwise you end up feeling like a bait and switch was pulled on you.Should have a full easy to read map of all the property on line
This is a cute place BUT there were so many ants in the room we had to walk around with our shoes on and keep flicking them off of us! They were all over the kitchen, bathroom (worst) and we could not even sit on the patio. I would never recommend this hotel!
Classic and unique. Unforgettable. Comfortable and clean. Get a cottage by the pond, and youll never forget your stay.
The resort cancelled my reservation by email with no explanation why..
Positive: Love the location.... beatiful Negative: Yes, I had called and the smoke detector was beeping, I asked the battery be replaced, it was to have been ...at 4:00 am it starting going off every 30 seconds...no refund offered.
Positive: Charming older hotel with cabins on a quiet little lake. Cabins kept up-to-date (e.g., new TVs and bathroom remodel) and clean. An unforgettable experience.
Nice & clean. Price was great. I cant think of anything that they could of done to make our stay more enjoyable. Love the lake and the pool. We stayed in the cottages. Washer dryer, and ice machine very convenient. Love the employees, Shannon, Wendy and Donavan they are so friendly. We have been staying here off and on all summer. It is so nice to come stay and realize you have the same people looking out for you.
Positive: Older Resort built in the 40s near downtown. We stayed in the newer portion by the office across the street. Its on a main road but still fairly quiet and secure and was very clean.
Positive: The location. Easy to get to downtown. Negative: The mattress was horrible. The sheets were either old and dingy or ivory colored. The coffee maker didnt work. There is no one at the front desk 24/7 just a cellphone number to call
The cottages are great. View of the lake with lots of fish and turtles. Comfortable bed with lots of room. Excellent patio with tables and chairs. Excellent friendly staff.
Positive: The room was great, location awesome and scenery very nice. Negative: They charged me for a towel that ripped while using it like any other towel.
This place is old Ft.Myers. The lake side is cool. All Rock rooms surrounded the lake. Beautiful veiw. Big green area behind. Well taken care of. Newer upgrade Ill say cabins. These have to be from the early 50s. Do you want something different and close to downtown this is it. Also reasonable price.
Quaint, very clean, and great service! Not for everyone, if you are looking for an upscale experience I wouldnt come here. The property is dated and is in need of some maintenance. However, there are free kayaks and canoes that we had a great time with and the location is very close to downtown. I found it to be charming and would stay again!
Quiet, friendly and so crazy clean and comfortable. The location is perfect for a base to enjoy Fort Meyers.
Great place to stay. The rooms are very nice in the staff was awesome
Such a cute place to stay! Extremely clean. Id definately stay again.
Very nice jem. Wow just perfect. Loved every part of our stay
Place was cool a little out dated but for the price not bad at all. Id go back.
If you come first find out where they are going to put you. Extremely dissapontingAs I was expecting to have a view of the lake and sitting having a drink on my veranda.Instead I have a lousie view of tge parkibg lot across the street. Not at all what I thought I rented and right now its that or nothing so my weekend is ruined
Booked online and they charged $27 extra for the cottage room! Instead of the regular room, its worth it. Kitchen with pots and pans! Would love to live here monthly, but its $1,100 per week.
Relaxing and Cozy!
The hotel was good and decent what I did not like was two twin size bed made for a for a king size bed. You cant sleep right with your husband or your wife. The TV was small the bathroom was kind of decent but it was a little bit small tool they need to have a phone in the room in case of an emergency but anything else the hotel was quiet and decent but thats all I like about the hotel but I didnt like the beds
Great for the price, was able to get it set up quickly since I was in between apartments, very accommodating. Nice clean rooms
Nice place. Needs new beds. Beautiful location. Little more landscaping along the road to dull traffic sounds. Needs a bigger coffee pot. And a blow dryer for the wife. But otherwise, not bad. Clean rooms. Welcoming staff
Peaceful, well located and very clean. Good value for the money you paid.
Not your cookie cutter motel. Basic but unique. We would stay here again.
It is a very nice place for the price. Very relaxing and the scenery is great.
A LOT OF HIDDEN FEES. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TERRIBLE. EXTREMELY RUDE PERSONNEL. KEPT CALLING US DAY AND NIGHT TO COLLECT CAT FEES. MENTIONED THAT IF THERE IS A CAT SMELL THEY WILL CHARGE $200!!! JUST BECAUSE WE CHECKED OUT 27 MINUTES LATE, THEY CHARGED THE $20 FEE. THEY WILL CHARGE YOU EVEN IF THE TOWEL IS DIRTY! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.
Pleasantly surprised at how clean this place was given the price range. Shower ran hot, AC was comfortable, and it was quiet. Was also surprised that it came with a full kitchen and utensils! Felt more like an Airbnb stay at a cottage than a hotel, which was great. Staff was nice, and its located really close to downtown (trolley runs every 15 minutes, though we didnt use it).
We went here many years ago. It left a lasting impression. I love this place..
Nice place for the price, room was clean and the property was nice.
Nice place to live clean environment & beautiful view.
Feels like a cozy cottage!! Right in downtown. I wanted to stay myself. Beautiful small pond w a fountain! If I wanted to stay in Ft Myers it would be here. Daily, weekly or monthly rentals.
Only stayed one night but was clean and comfortable. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. My only complaint was no hairdryer, which sounds silly, but in a world where every hotel has one, this was an issue.
Stayed in one of the lake cottages .Nice place to stay, with a very relaxing atmosphere. Double doors open to the porch area which overlook the water with the dolphin fountains running. Very peaceful effect for only being a short distance from downtown. Nice clean pool area to enjoy the sun. There is a gas station/ convenient store within a short walk. Free trolley service to downtown Ft. Myers was a nice added bonus. Can park vehicle close to room, which was nice. Room was clean with plenty of space including a kitchenette. Everyone that we came in contact with, office staff and room service, was very pleasent and friendly. There were a few things in the room that could have been updated but was minor considering the overall experience. We were presently pleased upon arrival, not know exactly what to expect. Would stay again upon a return visit to the Ft. Myers area.
Reasonably priced, cute cottages, nice pond and decor, clean, comfortable bed.close to downtown.perfect.cozy.
It was clean and the swimming pool was nice. Overall I was pleased.
Clean, nice updates, not fancy but good deal for money. Friendly and helpful staff. Plan to stay again. Bright and airy room.
Great step into old Ft Myers!!! And very comfy. Great management. Very clean and comfortable. Sunoco station next door with Subway and convince store.
It was very clean and they gave us extra blankets. The pool was nice and warm. The only complaint was the road made things a little noisy.
This very confortable hotel is not only very convenient situated (15 minutes walking to downtown Fort Myers) but the price is excellent, also service is amazing, Donovan whom is at front desk wil help you happily to every need you have, very happy to have found this like my own house place
Very old Florida built in the 40s. Everybody here is very nice and very accommodating. Quaint and Charming little cottage with a beautiful sunset view. You never know youre only 10 minutes away from the bustling downtown area of Fort Myers
It was a very nice place my daughter and son live in fort Myers I had my daughter come and check the place out and Donavon had given her a tour of the place and took time to answer questions we would definite would recommend this place to our family and friends
My mom and I came down from Tampa to Ft Myers to attend my cousins wedding and stayed at Rock Lake Resort. We really enjoyed our stay, the rooms are adorable and clean, rates are exceptionally reasonable, and the staff was very friendly. I will definitely stay here again and give my highest recommendations to anyone looking for a place to stay in this area of Ft Myers.
What a beautiful place. If you need just to relax this is the place. But just know you can bring you dog. But theres a 200 deposit on every animal you bring and an xtra $10 a night per animal. Otherwise its a zen atmosphere.
I stayed in a nice little duplex style building over looking a small lake filled with fish and turtles. The room had a double burner stove, small sink and dishes. It also had a small fridge. The room was kind of small but it was only for sleeping so I cant complain. Im here for work but I would come back and stay for a vacation
Heated pool was the best part, one side of Rock lake has a motel vibe the other side is nicer; Thats the side with the pool. The employees are friendly and its in close proximity to nice bars and beaches.
Very beautiful place
Love this place for vacationing! Cute little cottages and not expensive at all!
Cute little spot. Very well maintained! Ask for lake view room!
To expensive for 1 star motel
Good value, good size room, clean, nice lake, but, bad mattress and TV to close to air Condition.
Clean, safe, inexpensive and close to downtown.
Very peaceful and quiet, Ill come back every chance I get!
Nice little getaway
Lovely inside kitchenette. Dishes & utensils provided. Cabins surround lake with dolphin fountains outside each cabin. Covered porch to entertain or just chill. Flowers & shrubs nicely manicured. Will definately return to explore Ft. Myers & surrounding area more.
Great place to stay. We stayed in one of the Motel rooms since we were only spending the night and moving on. We look forward to returning there and getting a cottage. This is the best throwback to the 50s kind of place Ive seen in a long time
Whole wedding party stayed at the cabins. Great relaxing time away from the wedding craziness! Highly recommend by All of us!!!!
Beautiful grounds with awesome pool and amazing nature trail. Canoes available to tour river that runs right next to resort. Everything is well maintained and clean except for the tennis courts which are in disrepair.
Very quiet and clean . We will be going back next time in Ft Myers
It was okay. The rooms were unsanitary, floors dirty,*our* air conditioner smelled very moldy and the room smelled very musty/moldy. We loved the large open space where the bands played and space to dance. Honestly not sure if I would go back or not
Nice location and reasonable for the price. The hotel just need some updating to the rooms but the scenery was amazing. I will definitely be back.
