Huge place, lots of variety and things to do including shopping for all sorts of things. Its nice to see flea market concept will going on. There was a cool area indoors that had real race cars and even the actual Testarossa from the Miami vice show. So cool. 3 starts because there really is no order here, everything is so mixed up but they basically sell everything. From auto facilities to the most beautiful fresh fruits, veggies, and plants to live performances and restaurants. I wish this place got a face lift it has soooo much potential. Lots of parking with different options from free to like $5 dollar lots. This place even has a functioning drive in movie theater, how cool is that?!?
I highly recommend this place any day of the week for the drive in. It’s vintage it’s fun with or without your children. Fellas this a ultimate date spot for a drive in movie if you’re lady has never experienced that type of date. The stores and the people are full of culture and up to date on styles and trends. The flowers are amazing I regularly shop here once a week. An amazing weekend experience as well with your family.
This alone is worth a trip away from home to visit. We only had an hour n half of them being open. We hustled and we barely made a dent in the place. It has EVERYTHING U CAN NEED. EVEN THE KITCHEN SINK!! We are planning a vacation for weekend to this town just to give the swap market the time it deserves ! I found so many things. Man U could x mad shop here and cover everyone so reasonably and still totally unique!
Screen was relatively small and super dim, parking was chaotic with no semblance of organization or oversight. Rude attendees just park in the middle of aisles because there wasnt good other spots. Park backwards, open their hatchback and block the screen to everyone behind them. Parking backwards and sitting in the back is perfectly fine drive-in etiquette but stop your rear gate before its all the way up; one jerk even parked backwards and left his lights on shining at the cars in front of him. No employees monitoring disputes or anything that I saw. Im amazed there arent fights there on a regular.Having said all that, drive-ins in covid are a unique experience that you can still do. Worth it to do once in a blue, but I recommend: go early, go on an off day of the week and be prepared to get confrontational if someone decides they can park right in front of you and block your view.
Last night was my first time at a drive-in theater and I LOVED it. Maybe it helped that my expectations were low. They charge at the entrance. $7 per adult. $2 per child. It’s free on Tuesdays, if you come alone in a car! From there you drive up to the designated screen. The staff didn’t direct but luckily the screen number is on the ticket and the screens are very visible. There’s a big concession stand in the middle of the property with bathrooms. There are also guys in golf carts driving around that will drive up to you if you honk at them. The movie audio is on specific radio stations depending on the assigned screen. Very easy to set up and the sound quality was good. This is a great replacement to walk in theaters during covid
This swap shop has been around for decades. Loved going here when I was a kid. It was raining and almost closing time when I got here but a great market experience.
Good ol Swap Mart, offering products and name brand inspired merchandise. Lots of venders - predominantly comprised of clothing, phones/misc electronics, perfumes/colognes, luggage and smoke acessories. Produce vendors are on site also.Good amount of vehicle tint, wheels and car sterior shops also.Free parking and free to walk around...
I always find nice, comfy and inexpensive clothes here. Something for everyone. I love my athletic wear I purchased. The fruit stand is my favorite.
One of the last drive-ins in the country, the Thunderbird is very affordable. Right now, they have coupons for one free admission on Monday or Tuesday. A cheap night night out and great for social distancing. Swap Shop has the best shopping on Sundays.
This is always a great spot to visit when in the SwapShop. There are countless vendors from food, crafts to local artists. I have been visiting this iconic place for over 10 years. You can find local cuisines, local crafts and international art, soaps, paintings, fresh foods and more. The atmosphere is always busy and people are usually out in droves.
Ferrari museum very interesting considering the environment. Usual auction experience until the Italian Ice lady verbally assaulted me. Everyone else was pleasant and helpful. Worth a visit if just looking for a fun few hours.
Great please for family and friends to have fun and have a little bit of everything. There are things for adults and kids. Amazing food!!!! toy games music, shops everything
We had great time at drive-in love the fact they have go carts driving around with everything, you can yhink of eating . We were attended by an old gentleman he provided us with amazing service. One thing i wish the would improve is on faster time response with people having keeping theirs lights on during the movie. We had several cars with their headlights and some their parking lights on. Almost at the end of the movie, we saw someone approached vehicles n asked them to turn off their lights... but overall we a great time.
Pretty good flea market with a variety. Lots of shops open on the weekend. As most swap meets lots of them have the same items. The produce areas was fresh with a variety. The outdoor restaurants were lively with drinks and music and lots and lots of seafood. Weekend are the best days to visit this one. As for the drive in, itlooks like they were playing the latest movies. Adults are 7 bucks each.
Swap Shop is a good place for bargains. The outside is very hot so bring a stroller, water and something to roll away your findings. Good place for fresh veggies, baby stuff, tools, dishes and etc. The inside atmosphere is definitely not the best but wear your mask, carry wipes and hand sanitizer.
For social distancing its a great option. To hang out with friends in their separated cars. You can buy your snacks from outside or in the drive in. The movie sounds connect to the radio so you can clearly hear. Its a nice change to the movies we are so used to. It feels like we are going back in time to when drive in movies were popular and I think they can be again. Transform the front or back or your car into a comfortable space relax eat and enjoy the show.
The fresh drink shop is awesome! Dont leave without getting a coconut. Yum yum yum The dresses are sooo pretty youll want to buy them all. Definitely a one stop shop for almost everything you need. Get your car tinted, new rims and tires in no time for a reasonable price. The cellphone accessories are plentiful so you can easily protect or fashionably decorate your phone. I didnt make it inside because I was pressed for time. Until next time...
Not what we overall expected. But did find several good deals. Im glad they had a building with A/C.
If you like old school flea markets and haggling and hustling this is the place for you just walking around I usually spend at least 2 hours here! the best way to spend my weekends
Pass. Most of these reviews have to be fake. Awful sound. Horrible screens. And absolutely nobody running the asylum. Cars driving with high beams on more than an hour into the start of the movie. Plus many vehicles keeping their lights on. Hard pass on this place.
I love this place! You can cook dinner at home and bring it with you. Or order your favorite take out and sit comfortably in your vehicle with great sound from your car stereo. Theres also a very wide menu at the cafe there. Everything from popcorn to fruit to seafood!? Wine and beer! Theres even a food taxi service that will come to your car with snacks. Love it!! Bathrooms are available too! I always bring my own tissue and wipes just in case. IMPORTANT TIP: Just make sure you figure out how to turn your car lights completely off while keeping your stereo on! Otherwise youll disturb others and make it more difficult to see the projected screen. Please get someone to stand outside and make sure you have all the lights off. Some newer vehicles require you to put the emergency brake on to get the lights completely off. However, make sure someone can confirm for you before or when you go. Enjoy the movieeees! Its only like 7$ adult and $5 children!! They take card. Its great!
Had a nice walk around the outside area and they seemed to have a nice assortment of things. Bought a back up battery a week prior but it wouldnt hold a charge. The white Russian looking ladies and there little son we bought it from pretended like they didnt recognize us or ever sold the item. Personally wont buy any kind of battery there again. Otherwise, its a nice place to visit.
This place is exactly what you would expect out of an drive in theater. Adult tickets are $7 each and I believe, kids tickets were about $4. You buy your tickets and are told the number of the screen to drive to which are easy to find. You find a spot to park, whether close or further away. The screen displays the number for the FM radio station which will be transmitting the audio portion of the movie. You would use your car radio for this but in the past Ive seen people using radios and sitting outside their car picnic or tailgating style to enjoy the movie. You are allowed to bring your own food and drinks. We stopped at our favorite restaurant prior to this and picked up food and drinks that we ate while enjoying the movie. The quality of the movie is good, though there are the occasional headlights from drivers that forget to turn them off. There are golf carts driving around selling candy, food, and drinks. There is also a food shop and restrooms that you can walk to near to all screens. This is definitely a good date night activity, especially now during this covid pandemic as you stay stay safe in your car. Also during this time, tailgating or picnic outside the car is prohibited and you must remain inside the car. I recommend this place and encourage you to try it.
Oh the swap shop. I’ve been here 3 times in my life. Twice for the drive-in and once this past weekend to get window tints for my girlfriends car.I’m not a fan. What I like:Admission is only $1The drive-in movie experience is a nice change of pace. You get to enjoy the A/C in your vehicle, the quiet of your own ride and basically eat whatever you want to bring in.What I don’t like:Parking is a nightmare after it rains, there is flooding that is almost 6 inches deep in some areas and unfortunately you WILL have to walk through it so bring flip flops. The shops, they all basically sell the same items and honestly can’t compete with amazon.Where’s the deal?20% window tints for a sedan will run you $165 after taxes. When I think swap shop I think bottom line pricing.
They’re still trying their best to keep us safe. I go for exotic and local fruits, coconut water and roasted corn every Sunday.
It was great we saw Croods 2 and we loved it I recommend that go there have a great time there.
It was just like the old time drive-in movies except the sound was placed over the radio for higher quality. Quality of the food was much better than expected as we had a philly cheese steak. The only negative was leaving after the movie was over in that it was a similar experience to leaving a baseball game or a football game in that we had to wait a while
Nice spot for site seeing. Food is kinda high to not be so good. Arcade has bout half the games out of order. The Ferrari museum is nice.
I have been going to this place. since I was a little girl and its still one of my favorite places to visit. They always have great deals. Just remember to wear sneakers and dress light because its extra hot outside Under the tents which is where youll find the best deals.
Historical location. $7 movies every night. They previously prohibited customers from sitting on their trucks or cars but now doesnt seem to mind. The food is good for the price a lot less expensive than traditional theaters. Great experience for families, couples, friends, or solo riders
This is a good way to enjoy movies without worry about covid19 because you can watch the movie from your car ...
Lots Jewelry and gold stuff, food, cheap and theatrical clothes and mainly junk and be prepared to walk into another world. Reminds me a bit of The Florida Project. Ideal place to make a movie about the real American. Felt like I was in South America somewhere in certain areas of this place. Nothing to swap. I did not see the fruit and veggie stalls. I was there on a Saturday.
I actually really like this drive-in. It is a whole vibe and affordable. My new favorite movie place.
Pretty cool, easy and tasty tuna sandwich (need to wait 10min to have it, it was quiet though). I just enjoy the movie, no shops. Was empty (Thursday) but thats not a problem.
Looks sad compared to the good old days. Empty stalls everywhere. But I was still able to find exactly what I was looking for and the salesman was extremely help and took his time to explain technical information to me.
This place is huge I dont even know where to begin but we loved it and we will return if were in the area.
One of the greatest swap shops I’ve ever visited! They have a little bit of everything. From the permanent booths to the parking lot tables, there is definitely something for everyone. My favorite part, however, is inside the building. You enter to find a car museum filled with Ferrari’s, Porsche’s, and more. Keep walking and you find a swap shop mall loaded with shoes, jewelry, toys, food vendors, and more. Last but not least, make sure you go upstairs and check out the massive arcade! They have games that I haven’t seen in years there. Definitely worth the trip!
Fantastic experience! With all thats been happening now, this is a great go-to movie theater. There is a variety of movies to choose from and the feeling of a little escape and spending time with your loved ones and friends without breaking the bank is just fulfilling. Must try!
I visited the Swap Shop based on a recommendation from a local salesman while on vacation and have returned quite a few times each when I vacation in the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area. I like the variety of different shops and items, especially the fruit market. I have not purchased any electronics from the venders, but the prices are very reasonable as long as you understand the risks associated with such merchants. Looking at those classic cars was a nice treat. Maybe one day Ill try the drive-in theater.
Welcome to Nostalgia. A great outing with the family with the ability to catch a film. There is a snack bar, as well as a couple people driving around offering food, drinks, beer and snacks. The ferrari museum as a backdrop also added.
We have not been here in 15 years still the same. Still great deals and prices. Enjoyed our time here.
Good place. On weekends they have the outdoor tables with random items. Very dirty after it rains. Nice car collection inside.
Whether it be clothes, furniture, or even little knick knacks the rosebowl flea market is a great place to go to for anything.Dont be afraid to bargain! Vendors want to sell as much as they can so most will negotiate with you.
The swap shop was so fun I now live in Ga and came back home for Christmas. My kids were so excited about the coconuts on the tree and really wanted to drink from a coconut, the first place that I could think of is the swap shop. We enjoyed the coconut water/meat. The vendor was nice and it was great walking around on the inside was fun too!
At this point with this pandemic this is one of the few options to see new movie releases. My past experiences Pre-pandemic were good, but when I went this time it was not good. The movie didnt start on time and the screen was too dark. I ended up leaving early and going home. Ill give them another try, could have been a bad day to go to the movies.
So much to experience. Loved the fresh produce, got my car windows tinted and found the perfect plant for my office.
Usually a great flea market on the weekends. But this virus has made it spotty at best. The stable vendors are there, but hours may have changed..
I went on a Wednesday turns out its a slow day. Not too many vendors out, But it definitely looks like it gets packed and busy here. I would definitely come back. From what I was told the best days are Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. It is a very big lot and spacious. Becomes a drive in at 8:00pm where the fun continues with the Movies. Oh and did I forget to mention the go-kart racing upstairs inside the building with the Arcades all over? Or what about the fact that they have a little amusement park in the back. Definitely make a stop here if you are around.
Blast from the past! Took 3 kids and 3 cars 1 in reverse to hold our food and water.. still got concession popcorn and cart comes around with candy, drinks, water, etc. Price is good considering what theaters charge. We set up the kids in each car and pulled our chairs close to the cars and had a great time! Definitely will do again.
Id give it a solid 4 star rating if some of the screens were not so dark.
You have to pay for parking during the weekends, 3 dollars. Not all stores take credit cards and it gets toasty hot during the hot FL summer months, dont expect AC, be reade to sweat. You can find nice affordable plants, flowers, clothes, even get your phone fix. I havent tried the drive thru theater but is in my plans. There are food places to eat there and to buy veggies and fruits.
Good place to get gifts or to shop and hangout. The arcade and rides arent open yet but its a really good place to walk around and sightsee.
I guess for the outdoor experience is was fine, but compared to indoor theater. . . It doesnt come close to the experience you might be used to. Also, the ground in front of the screens is flat, with no marking, so its kinda chaotic getting into place for the movie.
Great family time. Video and sound awesome. I would like to see better organization for parking maybe adding trash cans that way the customers will not the garbage on the floor.
Swapshop is one of the cities gems. I went for flowers at Dianes Floral Shop (best florist in town). You can find everything at swapshop. Great and small. Ive been coming here for years. From the vegatable market, to merchandise, to clothes, food, and the movies. I love this place. What a one stop shop. You can even get your car windows tinted. Parking is available East, West, and South. I actually come here for roast corn and drive in movies. This is a must during the pandemic for me. So much to choose from. A plethora of finds to engage any consumer whether your a child or a senior citizen with an eccentric taste for vintage. You will find it here.
A lot of options and things and great deals. You can pretty much get all your errands done there.
Had not visited a Drive-In in years! Definetly a fun experience for families. The movie quality and sound station were great. No Static or interruptions. They have a snack bar and a cart that drives around throughout the movie in case you wish to purchase a movie snack. Will come back soon! only suggestion would be to play newer movies... Showings a little outdated, but overall a good experience and fair price in comparison to other drive-in options in my area.
This is a great place to shop. As the saying goes from a pin to an anchor, you can get almost anything here. Theres the indoor and outdoor shopping area. The outdoor area is tented. Be prepared to walk around. The layout is pretty organized and you can always ask for help with regards to where to find specific vendors. There are lots of entertainment for the kids too.The best part is that theres an overhead breezeway to get from the free parking lot across the street into the swap shop - you can access this by way of stairs or elevator (if working). The swap shop is pretty clean. Its a great place to shop or just walk around if youre bored. Be careful of the outdoor shopping as it can be brutally hot in the summer. You can always go inside and enjoy the AC
Great place to Buy, and Sell. Ive found many interesting items there. Great place to make a bit of money, especially now, with rough times.
Great place to shop, alot of great stuff, good deals, and a variety of food, fruits and vegetables... also rides for the kids...
Deals, deals and more deals. The prices for the most part are really good. Most of the venders are nice and not extremely pushy like some places Ive been.
1st time at a drive in theater... I loved it... King nda got to see 2 movies the way I was parked. Got 2 go back
Great place to get out of the house and still be safe with the current world status with covid. You are in your own co.firt zone me and my husband enjoyed it
Hot, but many stands open inside. I was hoping the farm stands were open, but only saw 1 outside. Decided to leave as many were not wearing a mask. Law not being enforced. Even vendors were not wearing masks and making comments if you were wearing one. This is why numbers are through the roof in Florida.
Always can find what I want here; plus the bargaining part is always fun.
It is a icon of broward and it is sad to see it lose as much buissness as it is. When my dad came to america one of his first jobs was working there
I loved it and ill surely come back and support small business owners here. So much to choose from and the sweetest people Ive met in Fort Lauderdale.
Oh my gosh this place was amazing . Not only was the ambience unique and high-spirited, but the people were very nice and helpful. The food was great, if a bit expensive. As far as merchandise, the swap shop is THE place to go for ANYTHING..
The Drive in is always fun. Ordering food takes a while if its more than standard popcorn and stuff, but was still delicious.
As always awesome. Great movie night with the kids. Unfortunately parking lot was full of trash. Other then that a great movie experience.
Very kind and professional. We will be coming back here all the time! Tobys haircut was spectacular. Nos enamoras de el lugar.
I almost died of happiness when i was there. I didnt know where to start. I had to go get some money from a atm. Then i went back and bought whatever that wasnt bolted down. U gotta be nice to people. Be patient. Dont cuss. Respect.
I love shopping at the Swap Shop, I been shopping there for the last 14 years, everytime I visit Fort Lauderdale thats the place I must do some of my shopping, you get lots of good stuff at reasonable prices, I would recommend any and everyone to go there to shop...
Lots of vendors selling cheap clothing and other personal items. Also new and used tools, food court and fresh fruits and veg. Lot of parking space.
Nice and big I will visit again when I come back in ft.Lauderdale
Interesting place to buy. New & used stuff @ a good price.
Decent price, decent food.Bathrooms are very poorly kept, they look like theyve never been cleaned.
This place is truly enjoyable unfortunately it looks like it has seen better days Im sure in the heyday of this location it was absolutely a blast hopefully this market will make it far into the future but definitely in need of some TLC the car collection is fantastic but rest of the market really needs a fresh shot of adrenaline and life the market is not very friendly for people looking to set up coming through during the busier time of the year we only come through areas for a few days or weeks at a time but unfortunately to set up inside not only is it unbelievably expensive you have to rent for a whole month at a time to whoever runs in owns this location please for the love of all things that are fantastic in America turn this spectacle back into the beauty that it can be but definitely stop and shop and enjoy
My last visit at the drive in was great because the bathroom were cleaned and there was an attendant to wipe down and sanitize after you. I was shocked!!! Always a step up for the flea market. The food at the concession were a bit pricey but kids wanted cheese pizza and it was not good either. The drive in is the best outing for family with small kids.
Everyone comes here, great prices in clothing, colognes, perfumes, jewelry fixes, food, everything and entertainment. Facebook, Julian Antonio Garcia
If you want to blow 2 hrs in the evening, then this is the place. No frills, just pull in and enjoy.....the good old days....
Its a ok place the best thing to me was the oil shop the fresh produce wasnt a real still of a price but u can find some more culture produce, the one of the garden shops forget which one is fair to cheap, didnt real try the food cant comment on that but the lemonade was good at the snack hut by mall entrance
Great place to catch a drive in movie. Good at all times but especially now with the current covid 19 situation. Good selection of snacks and drinks. The movies change every couple days and are always pretty new releases
You find things you need at affordable prices just dont come when its raining flooding is terrible
My stay was short, I knew what I wanted, sometimes a little crowed, the parking is good the lines moved quickly in and out
Its just a swap shop. I went for the drive in and it was a nice time. The movie was good and no tech difficulties ig. There are also good foods there that they have but there was a line when I went so I would suggest to get there early in line.
The wife and I like the deals that can be had here. Today I got my vans windows tinted for much less than traditional storefront places. Huge indoor/outdoor flea market. Weekends are busy and youll be charged at least $5 per vehicle for entry. Weekdays are free admission and you can stroll the indoor stores enjoying the free air conditioning.
Pricing and movie great, but they need to organize the car parking better. It was a mess! Other than that it was ok
NOW This place gets up and running much too LATE on Sundays. Before it would be up and running with many vendors outside ready to start by 5/ 5:30 a.m. on Sundays. NOW they barely have things up & running by 8 am.ALMOST MAKES IT NOT WORTH THE TRIP ANYMORE, SAD TO SAY.
Overall experience was good went there to get my window tint..they did a decent job
Kinda run down now a days no social distancing and no sanitizing the amusement area after the kids ride the rides they just load more kids and ppl on the rides the movie theater at night in my oppion is the only reason to go to the swap shop anymore everything else including 10 dollars for a xan of lysol is outdated and over rated
Great to walk around and check out some random items they serv food so good to get a bite to eat n has a small fair out side for the kids
Great to get out the house watch a movie and relax in your own car.
It was extremely packed. But that’s what we get going to the movies during a pandemic. But other than that, I love coming here for my date/family nights.
Great place to drive up with your car and enjoy a movie like old times. Definitely recommend as a family outing....
First experience, went to see Tenet, thought I was gonna get an orderly setting but it was chaos trynna find a spot and exiting after the movie was also chaos . I think more organization is needed. On a positive note, audio and video was great, was able to enjoy the movie.
The only thing stopping me from giving 5 stars is:-There is no real organization, cars park wherever they feel like it. I had a car drive up and park so close that I could make out people in a dark tinted car at night.-People well keep their car lights blasting your rearview and side mirrors.-Bring your own snacks, they rip you off just like every theater.
Like always, awesome experience! Brought pizza and drinks in a cooler... All set up
