Excellent accomodations. Loved the kitchen and island seating area. Comfortable king bed that didnt take up the whole room like in some hotels. Huge private balcony was a nice surprise! Comfortable relaxing stay and an easy short walk to the beach.
Enjoyed our stay. Will return. Liked our room and nice view of the pool.
I stayed with a friend at her timeshare here. The rooms were very nice. Love the back porch that went right out to the waterway where the boats are parked.
Reliable place to stay. Nice to have the full kitchen, two bathrooms and a comfortable bed. It is not the Ritz Carlton, but we find it to be a great place to stay. Comfortable, convenient, and a safe environment. An easy 2-3 minute walk to the beach. Several good restaurants around. Would recommend staying at Coconut Bay!
Friendly staff, quick/easy check in and out. My room was very clean no issues what so ever
A little tricky to find. Trust your GPS. Walking distance to the beach and many top notch restaurants. Hot tub was closed for maintenance. Pool was sparkling clean and refreshing. Stayed as an RCI exchange. They gave only dishwasher tabs and oversized coffee filters (which I used the poultry scissors, from the knife block, to cut 1/2 off the tops) Ceramic tile throughout kept the unit cool. A/C worked great! Ceiling fans in living room and bedroom were very appreciated. Weber grills (3) at the pool looked new. They were repainting the exterior, and doing other repairs, during our stay which caused some early noise. However we understand that must be done. Mondays free coffee and donuts is from 9:30-9:45 then they stop making coffee and pack everything up! Free coffee from 9-1pm is a small coffee pot that never had coffee in it. Even at checkout. Return your parking pass at the end of your stay, or they will charge you $5. Washing machines hold large amounts of clothes, and dryers are efficient ~ they are very affordable at $1 each, so bring lots of quarters. One thing that made me uncomfortable was that housekeeping entered our room, uninvited & while we were out, on Wednesday. They took the used towels from the kitchen and both bathrooms, and left clean ones inside the door for us. OK ~ but not really! Our valuables were out. We would stay here again. The location was great.
This was a wonderful resort. Along with having clean, well put together rooms, the front desk was so helpful and sweet. We had some special circumstances with flights being delayed and cancelled and they went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of and got our moneys worth. The location is a block from the beach. We were able to walk there without any issues. Its also close to a bike rental shop and half mile from Publix, the grocery store if youre walking or planning on riding bikes like we were. Definitely worth it to stay here and not pay the beach front premiums the other hotels charge. If we come to this area again we will definitely stay again!
If I could put no stars I would, this place is old and I have been staying here for 7 days and today i got told to vacate the area because I was waiting on someone to check out the room and the lady dragged me out of the room and then called the police and told them I tried coming onto her, while she told the cops a WHOLE DIFFERENT STORY watch out for the manager she is the one with the anger issues! DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL
Very disappointed. Not accomadating at all.Asked to be moved to another room & was told they were full (I thought the CDC guidelines were only 50% capacity during Covid 19 & no one was checking out until the next Saturday. (How convenient for them)No consideration for the handicap either! On top of all this our pantry door was broken completely fell off(no one ever came to fix it!)I wont even mention all the other little problems!Oh & make sure youbring your own pillow bc theirs are old.Ive been a timeshare owner for 14yrs now & I have to say this was the first place that I was not pleased with!
Nice staff at front desk, office and sales. Regular faces and being accommodated is very important to me. Every year we see friends that come at the same time. Its almost like seeing family! The resort is always updating and refurbishing. Awesome location and a block from the beach, shopping and fine dining.
Have been going here for many years now since parents bought a timeshare. Always been very easy to just sit and relax. Spent many hours by the pool and some by the hot tub (except for this year where it was out of service).Overall great place to stay.
We were here for our Pre- cruise stay and I liked it here! So close to the beach and some great spots to eat. Our room was a 2 bedroom apartment and it had plenty of space as we were a party of 5. Love come to Fort Lauderdale and hope to come back and hopefully stay here. Close to the Marina for the yachts and of course beautiful view of the ocean. Love that it also was one of few hotels that had room for 5 or more people in the same room. Beach was not even a 5 minute walk and we love it.
Great little place only a block from the beach. Pool was nice. Staff was great. Park across the street is a must visit. At night I would take a couple goodies down to the dock for about an hour, do some fishing with chicken liver as bait. Caught several catfish, grunts, snapper, and grouper. Plenty of shopping and eating nearby.
First time at this resort, I arrive with my family the Saturday afternoon. After traveling from Washington Dc front desk very pleasant I was even offered a cold beer funny. The rooms look well, the bathroom was clean totaly this is the first place I look for cleanliness, then the sheets .Two reasons why I am giving this resort two stars is because we had no water the Sunday morning, we called the front desk no answer finally water return, no apologies. The other reason No bible in the roomHowever It is a quit place grate parking.
Always a treat to stay there
Wonderful staff and service
This resort is very clean, pool is wonderful, close to grocery stores and eating establishments and beach. Had a wonderful time and would come back
Great location. Rooms are a little dated. Laminate countertops and wicker furniture. Was just right for us as we were out most of the time. There is a pool but we didnt have time to use it. Laundry facilities were right next to our room.
Old world Ft Lauderdale living.... Relax, entertainment nearby, restaurants, comfortable, pool, walk to everything you need and 2 minutes to BEACH!
The accommodations were okay. They were clean and provided plenty of space for the four of us. We were able to walk two blocks to the beach. The pool area was nice and clean. The staff was extremely nice. However, everything was very dated and some of the furnishings appeared to be damaged. It makes you question how they are using the annual maintenance fees that owners are paying. It could really use a furnishing facelift! Although they provided some key supplies (tissue, paper towels) they did not provide some of the significant vacation starter items such as coffee and dishwashing liquid. Over all, the location is very good and provides access to a lot of restaurants, stores, sites to see and shopping areas. At the end of the day it was a nice vacation!
Cute place, great location, Fort Lauderdale beach is 1/2 block away as are the restaurant & shops.
Cheap price and lots of room! Great place to stay for a night before a cruise!
Found this place thru a timeshare swap. Great location next to the waterways, just 1 block from the beach. Really close to some great local Hangouts for food or a drink. The room was very open and rather large compared to most one bedrooms. Looks like it was an apartment complex at one time but its well kept, staff has been friendly. Definitely would use them again if I wanted to come back to the area.
Marginal upkeep and maintenance. Website photos does not reflect the true state of the rooms and exterior. For example, my room key (old school) was very difficult to close and open the door. The front desk was aware of this and suggested I jiggle the untill I find the sweet spot; a replacement look is less than $20 -- this gives you the idea how cheep the place is operated.
Billi is a best guy ever.....Everything very well..People amazing.....
Nice place to stay for a short stop over. Its an older property bit very well maintained. Nice pool. Good location.
Good location, great price, 5 minute walk to beach!
My husband and I vacationed recently at Coconut Bay Resort (Jan. 2017). This was our first visit to this resort. We had prearrange a late check in after hours and were provided with a lock box/key and password to gain entry. We were quite pleased to see a spacious, clean, one bedroom unit. After a restful night sleep in a comfortable bed, we explored the grounds and surroundings. Noted, the resort being nestled in among much larger hotels. Despite proximity, landscaping provided a visual and sound barrier from other dwellings as well as traffic. Pool area was clean and private. A five minute walk took us to a beautiful premier beachfront promenade with shops, restaurants, sidewalk cafes and beach shops that provided rentals (chairs, umbrellas, water sports...). The beach was pristine. A five minute walk opposite the beach took us to the Taylor Birch State Park. Great place for outdoor enthusiasts as it offered a wide range of outdoor activities. Local grocery store had a great variety of seasonal fruits and prepared meals. Additional finds: Miami Zoo and Catalinas Cuban Cuisine. Coconut Bay Resort is a wonderful vacation spot in a fantastic location. Management, staff and locals helpful and friendly!
Great location ... Cable TV was out all week
The people were rude, the owner of this joint put their hands on my daughter while she was staying her alone with her friend and then repeatedly tried to come at her when we were paying them for a stay of 1 week, the bed were like sleeping on rocks worst place I have ever been too
The week I was there it was chaos, construction workers at jacucin for a couple of days with drills being honed
I would strongly urge anyone not to stay here. Read the negative reviews and believe them as they are true. I stayed here 2 years in a row and it was horrible. No security and there are shady people who hang out just next door. They close at night so nobody in the office during overnight hours. During our last stay we had bed bugs in our room. They had to move us to another room which was not as nice and very worn/dated. Wash room floor was flooded. Anyone can wander into the pool area so need to watch your belongings. People at front counter can be very rude and short with you. The dumpster area STUCK like crazy and there was raw garbage on the ground next to it. We ended up leaving and checking in somewhere else even through it was already paid for in advance. It was really taking away from our vacation and we definitely would never return.
Nice friendly people, nice pool, comfy room, close to beach
Great clean homie feeling place
It is a very laid back place if you like it quiet. Other than that I have been returning here for the last 10 years clean and peaceful. 1 block to the beach and a brisk walk to downtown.
Very surprised and very happy. Will definitely consider coming back.
I just spent a week here, down from Rhode Island. I love this place it feels like home. The rooms are large, clean, and welcoming. The property is very quiet and low key. Great location--walked to the beach, several good places to eat nearby.
We have been owners for 38 yrs. ....they have maintained the property for the most part but some things need to be improved. Our apt has issues. Needs a new tub and faucets, new fridge, the furniture is worn and needs repair. We are owners. If I was renting for a wk and not paying over 400.00 a yr maintenance I would not care. I expect the pool to be clean and there is black mold all in the reserviour. The spa needs to be clear water not murky. The location is great.a block from the ocean. Near restaurants and the mall. It is so FL. So there are stores galore and restaurants....it is not the place it use to be when we lived here..it has a worn out appearance
Very clean, Nixa in office is very nice; the new person seems nice too but I miss Pobloni (sp) He was always helpful and, since he had been there for years knew how to get or find whatever you needed.
The best resort i have ever own and i love it! I been a timeshare owner for 20+yrs and the awesome staff has aways treated me like family. 1 block from mall and 1 block from the beach. Family friendly with plenty of adult activities to choose from near by. Great location to be if you like a quiet relaxed atmosphere but, if you like to be in the heart of all the action, your just a hop skip and a jump from Las Olas and A1A.
Another place in Fl I enjoy going.
This was our second time staying at Coconut Bay Resort while taking care of family business, and its proven to be excellent. Staff are very responsive - thanks Javani - and highly conscientious in addressing to our needs. The rooms and kitchen are spacious, clean, and quiet. Above all, its a less than a three-minute walk to the beautiful pristine beach. Its a soothing haven to relax and recharge. Thanks for a great sojourn...we be back !!!
Ratings are very often about expectations. If you are expecting a 4 or 5 star property, you will be very disappointed with Coconut Bay Resort. If however, you are expecting a 2 or 3 star property, you will possibly be satisfied.Upon arrival from a 20-minute ride from Ft. Lauderdale Airport, we checked into a 3-floor motel-like property. The reception employee was efficient. We were told that there was no maid service and that bathroom towels would be changed mid-week. We were also given 6 threadbare beach towels and told quite firmly that there would be no others for the week. Our unit was supposed to sleep 6, so this would have been 1 ragged towel per person. Our unit was on the second floor; no one told us there was an elevator anywhere near this unit. There were plenty of parking spaces (first plus). When we reached the stairs, we were hit with the very strong smell of a disinfectant, which remained for the week (occasionally mixed with the sickening smell of marijuana). The unit itself was quite spacious with terrific closet space and storage—1 bedroom with a queen, 1 bedroom with two twins, and 1 pullout sofa. There were two full baths. Second plus. However, I noticed several ant traps, apparently insufficient because we saw many tiny ants in the bathrooms. One day we were visited by some mysterious flying bugs of some kind. The floors were swept, but had not been mopped in some time. The kitchen was nicely appointed with the usual appliances. However, while there were plates, silverware, and glasses for 12, strangely only 3 wine glasses of different sizes. There was a double sink, one with a garbage disposal and the other with a rusted drain. The queen bed we slept in was comfortable (third plus), but the pillows were very lumpy and hard. The pool was small but adequate; the lounge chairs, shoddy and uncomfortable. The beach was a 10-minute walk, which doesn’t sound far at all, but if you are carrying anything, it’s not pleasant. The cost to rent two chairs and an umbrella on the beach is $50.00.Plus number 4, the property (there is absolutely no way anyone would call this a resort) was quiet and close to some terrific restaurants. And finally, when you check out, you are told to strip the bed and put the linens in the dining room.
No TV reception living room furniture uncomfortable
Family oriented and friendly. Hidden gem.
Perfect location very near the beach. The Web site pictures are accurate. Kitchen is very well equipped and bed is comfortable. I would stay there again.
Clean place, pools heated, hot tubs hot and the resort staff are great. Beach 2 min walk away, 7/11 30 seconds away with beer and wine 24/7 Bars and restaurants within a 2 min walk. High end mall and grocery stores a 5 min walk away. Very central and quiet.
Nice nice but cheap[your pay for laundry & towels were issued 1 week & toilet over flowed one night on floor until next day. We used up our towels.
This is an older resort sort of tucked away not far from the beach. We had a great time here. Close to everything, but felt somewhat secluded, and the pool area was very pleasant.
Didn’t like the gate to the swimming pool, very inconvenient and was hard to figure out how to open. Good free parking. Close to a 7/11, and Publix down the road, across the bridge. No cleaning supplies were supplied to wash dishes or just clean up the rooms. DO NOT rely on their free WiFi. It is not good at all.
Quaint boutique style timeshare
Awesome and the people are so friendly. Definitely will be back next year!
Good place, very clóse to the beach
Excelente location nice apartment
Clean rooms. Very friendly staff. Calm & quiet place to take the family. Very short walk to a beautiful beach
I love it staff was very friendly and accommodating I loved my roomie would recommend it to any one will go back next year love it very much felt at home
Very friendly staff at check in, clean, spacious rooms and nice pool/hot tub area.
Very convenient to the beach and restaurants
Great location between the beach and intercoastal with parks and shopping within walking distance. Friendly staff and sales team.
Very peaceful and beautiful rooms. Awesome location to everything as well. There are awesome restaurants and shops very close to the resort. Unfortunately the staff was not very friendly or welcoming at all. The desk at check in threatened to kick us out if we acted up before even meeting us all because were college students. Halfway through our stay the hotel manager also blamed us for things that other guests had done and informed us that we would be kicked out if anything else happened even if it wasnt us. Overall great place, terrible staff.
I little old looking outside but very clean inside.
Very Clean, 5 min to the beach. Close to shopping and great restaurants. All within walking distance
Best place to use time share points or get involved in the practice. Owned by a great family and ran by good guys.
Nice rooms, good pool and bar. One block from the beach.
Clean spacious rooms, excellent location friendly staff, I highly recommend it
Great location, great amenities. Right in the middle of all the activities.
Needs upgrades. Lots of upgrades. Front desk not very nice. No view. View to canal from master only. Bonus very close to the beach. 2 blocks.
Very nice rooms, pool is a little small but big enough for the amount of people and there is a hot tub. Location is excellent, very close to beach and multiple nice restaurants
Just what you need a little more
Stayed here 5/6 years ago. Was not perfect. This trip July 2017. Fantastic staff room area. Will be back.
Needs up grade, out dated furniture, small TVs but very roomy.
Perfect location nice place.
The place must have been renovated since those 2009 reviews. I saw two other apts here besides the one I am in. All have new bathrooms, kitchen, stone floors. No mold / mildew. Apt was immaculately clean. Pool and hottub...great. Three gas grills in the pool area for use by the guests. Service was friendly. These are like condo apartments not the all inclusive resort away from humanity. As soon as you walk out the door you are in the midst of reality. 7-11 on the corner. Two blocks to the beach. I was especially pleased I could trade my week in a hotel for this nice 1-bedroom apt with 1-1/2 baths. A good deal and a nice place.
Great service and nice workers
Not what we are accustom to but was functional. Greeted by tiny ants upon last day to say goodbye .
Nice place to relax
Crowed and seats too close together and very uncomfortable. Not a place I run too.
My Mother stayed at this resort and I must say that it is very nice. The suites may be a little dated, but they are still very nice and it is a great location.
Great Place. Weve stayed here in the past until RCI started playing games with Timeshare Exchanges.
This place sucks. The staff was the worst. They were very rude and barely said hi when they passed by. The carpet was dirty and walked out to the dock, garbage all in the water. No more visits there.
Terrible customer service… I have never been treated more rude on the phone. Their front desk staff answers the phone so unprofessional and rushed...
Confortable, clean, near beach, cheap
Great place, service great, apartments really big ones, WiFi working perfectly, pool area with barbecue from dusk till dawn, easy access to the beach and gallery mall and publix. Probably u could manage without car... I can gladly recommend.
Located perfectly
Really nice pool, located on the water with dock space. Very well maintained and peaceful.
Okay Timeshare property. Part of the property aces a canal on the intracoastal waterway. Some of the rooms have been updated and have a beach theme. The pool and jacuzzi appear clean and decent.
Great rooms. Clean and amazing front desk staff.
Nice rooms. Close to the beach and plenty of restaurants.
My husband and I have been going to Coconut Bay for years. Pabony and Nixa are always at the desk welcoming us. They are always friendly and quite helpful, and it feels as though they are part of our family. Our condo is always ready when we get there, even if were early, and its always clean. The pool and hot tub are great and its nice to be able to grill outside if we dont feel like going out to dinner. The location is fantastic. You can walk everywhere -- from the Galleria and restaurants, to the beach, or to the many beach shops and restaurants and bars. And grocery shopping is a mere five minute drive along with movie theaters, more shopping and restaurants. The Water Taxi is also quite close and Pabony can help you if you want to arrange a day of travel to the Keys or wherever you want to go. We look forward to our Florida vacations and we look forward to going back to Coconut Bay -- our spot.
Nice place really close to the beach! Not out if this world but exactly what you need
THE POOL AREA AROUND THE GRILLS HAS A DISGUSTING SMELL AND THE STONE WORK AROUND THE GRILLS IS BLACK WITH GREASE.
Pretty good
My wife and I recently vacationed at the Coconut Bay resort in February of 2017. This was our second visit to the resort in two years and the experience was once again excellent and memorable. The single bedroom room was comfortable, clean and well appointed as were the other amenities, including the pool. The staff were exceptionally polite and helpful and assisted us in selecting local activities.I can’t say enough good things about the location as it is a very short walk to the Ft. Lauderdale beach, which is vastly improved, clean and a very family oriented experience. You are also minutes away from the “strip” where there is an endless selection of great cafes and dining locations across the street from the ocean. To the north is the beautiful Hugh Taylor Birch State Park where there are exercise trails and a very interesting nature walk through an original hardwood hammock. The resort is located at the end of Sunrise Blvd and you are only a few minutes drive from the shops, restaurants and bars of Las Olas Blvd and Commercial Blvd as well as the downtown Ft. Lauderdale. In addition, Coconut Bay is right off the main channel of the Intracoastal Waterway and you can arrange to be picked up by a water taxi and explore the upper reaches of the New River and all of the great waterfront restaurants and the downtown Riverwalk. The resort is a real gem and a great value, not to mention the fact that there are so many engaging activities within easy walking distance.
Family atmosphere
