Amazing natural area, very fun exciting area to walk and see nature..Right in our own backyard and definate must to visit,again..
Nice walking area by the Poudre river. Also a pond for waterfowl which is heavily secured from humans by marsh vegetation. But there is another area designated for fishing but mainly catch and release as there are size limits.
Quite place to walk along the river. Very pretty
Lots of small bluegill and pumpkin looking fish. spotted a couple of good largemouth bass nothing biting though. Used a white jig, green jig, and a night crawler
Awesome trail! Seems great for fishing and for bringing pets for a walk.
This is a delightful area for a walk, for fishing, and for taking it easy. The people I have met here have been friendly and there are some HUGE koi in the ponds. It really is a treasure being just on the edge of town and to feel like you got out of the city. One of the great secrets of Fort Collins.
Not deep at all and only fish seen was to big carp.and a bunch of really really small blue gill and sun fish.
Very pretty and easy trail for me to navigate with a cane. Some wonderful natural scenes of the river and ponds.Well kept up and will be back.
Beautiful place for a nature walk, surprisingly few invasive plants!
Clean and gorgeous place to visit and fish in the early morning
Beautiful area, nice for a quiet walk with the family.
So sad that the ponds are near dry, there is no longer a restroom either.But...a nice walk past the ponds will lead you to a better view and the river. If you need to pee youll have to pop a squat.
A nice place to chill
A perfect escape from the city, just moments away. Not overly groomed, not terribly popular. Just quiet. Wear mosquito repellent and enjoy some peace.
Nice hike along the river.
Nice nature walk with littles. Picnic shelter with tables. Some benches and educational signs along the way. No bathroom... Need to go a little south along shields for that.
This gem is just North of the big parking area for the river at Shields street. There is a fishing pond at the start, a nice walk along the river, and a large lake to circle around. Seems a lot more private and secluded than the other areas in the same vicinity.
I fish here quiet a bit, when going a few days ago the water looked like oil was spilt in it, and it wasnt a place I wanted to fish. Or even take my kid to. I went back today, and the oil spill look was gone, but the water is so low now idk whats going on. They have some good bass in it
Clean, good poudre trail access
Beautiful.
Beeeeeeeees. Great place to walk or fish
Great place to park your car in either walk or at ride your bikes along the Poudre River Trail restrooms located there outdoor restrooms
Really nice natural area.
Beautiful area for hiking and biking! Lots of geese to gander and a grand good view of the goodness of nature. You can see the foothills from here. From Horsetooth, and Arthurs Rock to the Twin Peaks and coyote ridge, but North up the Poudre river in the hills. The view of the sunsets is incredible!
Beatiful but only able to catch 9 smaller fish with 2 other people
Fishing has always been poor here for me here. Water quality is pretty low. Super turbid. Its somewhat quaint, but since its a city park, so many people go there to walk dogs, talk smack about their spouses, or creep on other people. YMMV
I enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, the wild flowers, the water, and the birds singing.
Great place for a short hike. Just on the north side of the Poudre. Only saw one other person all afternoon.
Good veiw everywhere you look
Beautiful. Nice trail. Big fish.
Friends fishing here, got some decent fish. Pleasant place to kick back
Great area to walk and fish.
Has a Very nice walking trail.
Love this place is quite fantastic
A beautiful, peaceful spot. I love the rural feel with the surrounding farms, barns, and horses. Truly beautiful views of the foothills.
Fish are choosey
Simple loop to walk the dog along. Quite serene on this Christmas Eve day.
Great place to get away
On the north side of the river the walks are quieter and the wild life plentiful. We saw many varieties of birds during the migration season.
Catfish gone, two in bassThey need to dig it out. Used to be awesome.
I wish we had a place like this in West TN.
Nice getaway from life
Needs better fish
Nice place to walk around. Very relaxing.
Who doesnt love nature
Great natural area. The city should stop poisoning it and others with their biowarfare crusade against dandelions with amine salts
Delivered wetland sod . Its a beautiful place
Decent parking for access to the Poudre Trail. They have even put down crushed asphalt to help with the ruts and potholes.
Very nice area. Glad we stumbled upon it
Love this place
Beautiful
Only caught small fish let them go
